Singer 2018 is the second season of Chinese television series Singer, a rebranded version of I Am a Singer that will air on Hunan Television. It is produced by Hong Tao, and its music director is Hong Kong senior musician Kubert Leung.

Here I am again late to the show. Where the hell have they been hiding this woman? I am thoroughly impressed, so soulful, and such a strong voice. Glad that I found her, even if it was by accident. And she was having hella fun, beautiful.
She left her management after feeling pigeonholed as pop (Bang Bang, Price Tag etc) & never really round her niche after that. If she'd been marketed like Adele & gone that route musically she'd be stratospheric by now. The White Whitney is her nickname).

What’s sad is that western artist with really great voices have to go overseas in order to sing without the gimmicks and it’s happening more and more the mainstream music industry doesn’t have a place for amazing vocalist like her like they did back in the 90s but amen for there finally being a way!
I agree, she has such a beautiful voice but sadly is underrated at her home country.
The stuff that really showcases someone like her vocally are disco, soul & power ballads. None of which really appeal the teen demographic record companies want . If she'd been packaged as a more serious artist (instead of pigeonholed as catchy 'pop' ) like Adele , at the start, she'd be huge.

Not denying other singers’ talent, but in my view, Jessie J has one or more skill levels above other singers in the show. That’s why she has gained so many many fans in China since she appeared on Singer 2018. 3 consecutive top spots and never dropped out of top 2, both are records in Singer history (6 seasons so far). It is a privilege to watch Jessie J’s spectacular performances!

It's not just about high notes. The beginning included unbelievable melismas and low notes. The rest of the song shows her mid range and ability to perform and engage the crowd. She doesn't have to belt out every single song lol. It was smart of her and her team to showcase her versatility and talent this way. Amyways I do get your point tho. Queen J looking effortless :)

Sometimes when I watch Jessie singing like this, I feel that she must be a black woman’s soul in a white woman’s body, and when I see her warmth, wit and watch her rhythm while dancing, I think she must have some Latin blood in her. I would love to see her dancing “salsa” hahaha. Maybe be that is the reason why so many people say she has tons of charisma, or the Asian people say she has a very bright aura. Some other times when I hear all her melismas, belts, riffs, runs, pitch, etc. I think she must not be from this world LOL! ... What gets me the most is how humble she is sometimes even when she knows she has slayed a song (because she knows it) or she has surpassed the original singer of a song which she is doing the cover. Then when I hear the lyrics of many of the songs she has written I think she must be divinely inspired. In summary, Jessie J is Jessie J!!! a true living legend in my humble opinion :) hehehehehe

She doesn't need to prove how incredible she is. It can't be denied that she is far better than the other contestants as far as vocal quality is concerned. To people who complaint about Jessie J getting robbed by someone who screamed rather than using vocal, maybe you should go back to the beginning of the original video where Jessie asked you to calm the fk down. Jessie is great, that is certain for sure, but like what she said, no one can win every time. There is no need to step on other singers just because their performances just so happened to appeal those 500 audiences more. What's more important is that she is first in your heart, and that you appreciate her. I believe that matters more than the position you get in a competition.

Appear order matters a lot, she was 3rd and KZ was last (since it's her first appearance). If Jessie J appears last, she will win the top spot for sure.

Well, they are not there to degrade the talents of each other. Look at them, they are so happy while watching each other. They are showing professionalism, they are not showing any racism and they are phrasing each other's talent.
I'm from the Philippines and I'm so happy for KZ, she deserves it 'cause she gave a new color and flavor of the song, you can see that she gave her all. While Jessie J, she don't need to prove anything, she's an Icon already and one of the best story tellers through Music. She inspires a lot of people and no doubt that her vocals are uncomparable.
