I've tried 3 times to type out a quick and dirty summary of his life but there's not really a way to truncate it. It keeps trying to be a novel (which, by the way, he just released one documenting his life so I'd suggest that as a good place to start, lol) but I'll try. Addict parents, mom abandoned family when he was a baby, dad got clean and raised him and his brother, Ronnie gets into drugs as a teen to the point that he OD's as a young adult, forms Escape The Fate which quickly becomes popular. Ronnie is involved in a group altercation where someone is shot and killed (ruled self defense and it wasn't Ronnie who fired the gun) and he gets put on probation. I've heard 3 different stories about this part----1 is that he was caught with brass knuckles, 1 is that he was caught with drugs, and 1 is that he missed a probation meeting-----at any rate, he gets sent prison and ETF dumps him. He gets clean, writes an entire album while in prison by whisper singing and drumming the beats out on his knees, forms Falling In Reverse and hits the ground running when he's released early. Brother gets killed in motorcycle accident, dad forms a Christian biker gang in his memory, Ronnie feels betrayed by everyone (mom, former band, etc.) including God because of the loss of his brother and becomes an atheist. He's funny though because on his Twitch stream he cusses like a sailor but when his dad drops into the chat he cleans it up. 😂 Anyway, lots of bad blood between him and Escape The Fate which facilitated most of the songs on FIR's early albums. They've since buried the hatchet and have even toured together. He has a lot of haters because he speaks his mind, calls people out on their BS, and a lot of his fans from the early days don't like the way he keeps evolving and changing the style of music he creates. And you can find out almost every bit of that just by listening to his songs over the years. It's all in there. No secrets. I think people find him so fascinating because everything about him is a contradiction. He's raw and real yet what he puts out is produced and polished to perfection. He's got a temper and loves to talk shit but there's so much vulnerability and angst in his music. He knows how awesome he is and what he's capable of but also can be really humble and is incredibly gracious to the fans for their support. He's just.....Ronnie.
Damn, to have gone through so much and still be a decent person speaks volumes to me. A person can be an amazing performer, but if they treat their fans and the people around them like shit than they are not worth my time. Thank you for the back story and the support. We appreciate you and everyone who comments. Bo
@@criticalhitsbadmisses This was an amazing description. As far as being a decent person, if you ever come across any clips of him with his dogs, his girlfriend, or his daughter, you'll see how awesome he is! I for one have two signed boxes of Girl Scout cookies hidden away to prove the extent he'll go to for his daughter. 💜 Can't wait to see you guys fall deeper down the rabbit hole. Enjoy!
Wow, that is incredible. I love hearing this about him. Makes me love his music and his talent that much more. Thank you so much for sharing that with us. I simply love reading all of the positive stuff that people are saying about Ronnie. Thank you for your comment and all of your support. Bo
As you go down the rabbit hole, you'll come to see that you can never expect anything that's coming with the next song. They truly are versatile. This video did win some awards. Instead of saying that he can sing, rap, and scream, we all just say that Ronnie Radke can music. Popular Monster kind of put them on a lot of people's radar, but also check out "The Trilogy". It's 3 songs that go together to tell a story, but it's important to do them in order. First is Losing My Mind, then Losing My Life, then Drugs. All of their more recent videos are cinematic. If you want to check something out from their debut album, I highly suggest Raised By Wolves.
Great reaction! Ronnie isn't shy about his talents and skills, but he says himself he's not a good actor. Being the perfectionist that he is, he works hard on making it work for the videos, but I don't think that making a movie would be his think. And why should he? He could write and record so much awesome music instead. I love that the video is for Derek. He died a few month after his fiancee died from cancer. Even more tragic then the story in the video. Subbed for more FiR. Greetings from Germany
2006 he created Escape the fate. That band blew up quickly BUT he wrote a song in 1998 called truth in cliche and that wasn't OFFICIALLY released until ETF was formed. Ronnie got outed after violating probation YET was in a sticky situation when one friend of his had to shoot someone to protect himself so he went to prison for 2 years. While in prison he write the first album for Falling in Reverse that completely took off like a rocket. Im not a vampire was in this first album. So his new band mate picked him up from prison and created the album. Originally Ronnie wanted the band to be called within these walls as he wrote the entire album in prison. Long story short Ronnie has been clean from drugs for about 10 years and alcohol free for 5 years. Do all the research you want man. There are a lot of interviews as well. Ronnie really is a walking legend. One of I think 2 or 3 bands that helped create the "scene" in that time.
Fun fact: The woman in the video is Ronnie's actual partner, Saraya. She used to wrestle with the WWE but switched over to AEW in 2022 (as far as I know).
The original band members of falling in reverse was Ronnie Radke lead vocals, Derek Jones rhythm guitar, Jacky Vincent lead guitar and Ryan Seaman drums. Over the years members have come and gone. Derek their rhythm guitarist died in 2020 so Christian Thompson took over as rthym guitarist and Tyler Burgess returned as bass guitarist. So the band members as of today are Ronnie Radke lead singer, Max Georgiev lead guitar, Tyler Burgess bass guitar, Christian Thompson rhythm guitar and Luke Holland drums
Definitely not the first time I've heard it, more like the 101st. I love to see reactions to this video especially if you've seen the original which is more of an upbeat, fun, even 'making fun' of rehab life type video. Ten years later when he made this he'd been through prison, rehab and has a daughter and has a completely different take on this song. The fact that he could even conceptualize this after the original blows my mind. Popular Monster is my favorite, but like others here have said, the trilogy is awesome, too, as well as Zombified and Voices In My Head. He doesn't have a lot of videos from his early stuff, but the music is still awesome.
You guys have to check out gangstas paradise by falling in reverse Coolio is in the music video and there is a live version where Coolio performs with Ronnie

great reaction its crazy seeing new people react to his songs . you have to do the first version of this song next def . it the same song same lyrics. he did the same with the drug in me is you. As with learning who ronnie is you learn more about his life and the struggles his been thro with his music which just shows of more and more of his talent. Just a little fact for you at the end of the video the in memory of derek jones ,that was ronnies good friend and one of the original members of falling of reverse who died in 2020. ronnie redid this song as a tribute to him.
Thanks for the cool reaction. Thanks to her, I experienced the same emotions as I watched the clip for the first time.☺️ It's a pity that the track is not new, there are few search queries
I agree it was out of order but it isn't y'alls fault. Someone should have suggested watching the older one first. Anyways....when you do watch The Drug in Me is You and the Reimagined version, make sure you watch the original first. Like this one (once you see the original), it is amazing to see how the same song can sound so different. Nice reaction 👌
Great reaction! I can't speak for all FIR fans but I, myself, enjoy seeing other people discover their music and begin enjoying it. You guys are awesome! By the way, you should add Popular Monster to your list.
Thank you for the kind words. If there is one thing I love more than FIR music, it would be how loyal and kind their fans are. We will be taking a look at Popular Monster in the near future. Thank you for the suggestion and the support. Bo

People should always get you to check the original first from 2011. Same lyrics but very different compositoin and feel. So if you do "The Drug in me is reimagined" do "The Drug in me" first.
If you guys are Big wrestling fans you would have noticed that the women in this video is former WWE wrestler Paige she is Ronnie's girlfriend.. Awesome reaction though, I don't think there's any type of music Ronnie can't do😊
I didn’t realize that’s who that was until after watching it. We intentionally don’t do a lot of research so we are as natural as possible.
