I ran two of those flywheels over the course of 8 years and never had those screws or the ring gear come loose. I'd like to think that was a fluke. Either way, thanks for sharing.
Your videos are excellent. Thanks for making more recently. I've watched your tuning videos and its helped me alot with my dsm. Keep it up! Maybe do some timing/fuel table vids of past tunes you've had and why and what changes you've had to made good and bad to get you where you are now.
planning to buy an aluminum fw but my car has 245hp and I’ll only do track days with normal clutch use, it shouldn’t heat up plus I run a cool down lap after every hot lap. high performance brake discs use aluminum center bells and let the outer ring expand separately by using special assemblies but some discs are bolted normally and don’t have problems. I guess clutches don’t heat up that much otherwise they would last about the same as brake pads
It doesn't take much to overheat it. One good time of letting out on the pedal and you can get it hot. I'm auto now though. Screw all these clutch/transmission issues trying to run a bunch of power through it and all the issues that entails.
Yeah but there's no label ANYWHERE that says, "don't use if running faster than X.XXX amount of time". Lol. I'm auto now anyway. But this is something that could kill a person if it comes apart.
Did you take it apart and inspect it to verify that? I wasn't having issues with mine. Just upgraded my turbo and needed something that could handle the power.
@@V8sareslow1 yes, I had one in there before that was used but the teeth were ate up. I bought a new face and gear ring put it back together and it's been fine.
It's still a risk if using it. My whole reason for sharing this. The whole, you can drag a horse to water but can't make it drink thing. Can't stop people from using it no more than stopping people from using their hair dryer in the shower. People still do it I guess. Lol.

I'm thinking about picking one up. My 100 hp truck barely turns my 31's.

Were you doing 7000 RPM launches??
5 or 6k I believe.
"A little over heated" 🙂
Brah! Your running 10’s the amount of abuse all components go through must be insane. If anything it may have held up well.

Luckily no issues with mine.

@@V8sareslow1 lol agreed, I'll eventually upgrade to something more sturdier.
@@Kenuwine24 what flywheel do you use?
