I loved the filmed recording of Newsies. It was my first time experiencing the show and it's already one of my favorite musicals. I also saw on PBS the filmed Studio 54 performances of She Loves Me and Holiday Inn.

I got serious chills just watching this and seeing all the energy within the cast and the people who came to support opening night.

We went to see this magnificent show last Saturday night. I have never seen so many ovations during a show. Ben Platt
gives a brilliant performance, he blows the audience away and leaves them standing and crying.
How in the world will this go on a national tour if Platt isn't Evan?! Sooooo good.
If it were Ben Platt, I would be almost excited as I was to see Alice Ripley when the Next to Normal tour kicked off in Los Angeles.

Seeing the Greatest Showman last month made me desperate for word of mouth on this show. Because DEH is going to be in LA this Fall and I hear it's sad but occasionally funny. I may relate to this show because even though I don't have social anxiety disorder like Evan, I do go through on and off stress. Instead I have autism. And back in high school, I have started to have random thoughts of death especially suicide. I don't really want to hurt myself or others but I sometimes can't get the thoughts off my mind. When I hear You Will Be Found, I am almost reminded how I self talk myself to thinking things will be fine.
This is the greatest musical ever made. The OBC is spectacular and Laura Dreyfus alone is just the GOAT and the most amazing too
will be seeing the show in June! cannot wait!

Saw this show on Wednesday after Hamilton and this was the most Real musical I have ever had the pleasure of watching. Just to be able to relate to the characters and being able to feel their emotions is just very powerful and I couldn't stop crying. Coming from experience of feeling that sense of feeling alone and worthless and having to struggle with that still this musical really touched me in my heart and really gave me a better more positive look on my life and I will be forever grateful for this musical and I wish all the best for it and a very long run time.

I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen the show but there is a decent summary on wikipedia. But what the story is it's Evan's first day of senior year and he's going to try and fit in,but has very bad social anxiety so he doesn't really have friends and his therapist tells him to write letters to himself telling him what is going to happen that day in a positive way. For example one of his letters starts "Dear Evan Hansen today's going to be a great day and here's why..." so as the day progresses Evan doesn't have the greatest first day so he decides to write his letter before his session, but writes it in a very depressing manner and prints it in the library. The only other person in the library at the time was a boy named Connor who wasn't very liked and was a loner. He takes the letter to give to Evan to try and be nice but when he reads the letter he thinks its a joke to make fun of him being a loner because Evan mentions he has a crush on connor's sister Zoe. Connor takes the letter and storms out and we find out that he commited suicide that day. He was found with Evan's note and connor's parents are under the impression connor wrote it to Evan because they were friends. Evan lies saying they were friends and they did a lot of stuff together and the lies progress and he gets the chance to fit in,but it doesn't work out in everyone's favor in the end. You really need to watch the musical to fully understand because there is so much more to the story than a summary.
