Visiting the Swanage Railway July 2021

Three different locos were on the roster at the Swanage Railway when I spent two weeks in Purbeck in July. Regular visits to the lineside and one trip along the line resulted in this film.
West Country Class 34028 Eddystone, U Class 31806 and, on loan from the GCR, BR Class 2 78018 can all be seen strutting their stuff in this delightful part of the country.
Big thanks to everyone at Swanage Railway for all they do to keep such a splendid railway up and running.

Great filming as usual.I was in Swanage in July too love it there especially Corte Castle Station which is in a lovely location.Shall be going back there hopefully in September.

Some interesting locations you filmed at, different from the usual places people film at, but most of all nice to see someone filming at Herston Halt, so neglected when people film at the Swanage Railway.

Thank you, Geoff. It’s always good to find new places to film. The locos were all facing the same way, so that limited the choice of location/direction of filming a bit. I’m sure to go again though; I love it there 😊 Hilary

It took me all day ( today Thursday to watch this ) , no disappointments , Thanks Hilary !
By the way what sort of coal is being used in these locos , as it almost , "Smokeless", the firemen really know there jobs ?

Sorry it was such a long film to watch; I just can’t help it when I’m visiting a heritage railway 😊 . I don’t know about the coal, but for the first week of holiday in particular, it was hot weather, so you don’t get to see much exhaust from the chimney. 😊 Hilary

I still prefer the nameplate background to be RED not black Bullied wanted them red please change them back

I know Clan Line has both red and black. I’m not sure what the reasoning for using one colour vs the other is, but they do change them.
