Yep me too! Haha if this is what we can expect then hey im not mad lol if this is what Kerr thought would temper the excitement for James wiseman it didn't haha it made it worse haha 🤔🤣💙💛🙌🏾🤷🏾♀️🤯
@@thereuel5132 I really want him to be this. Warriors could use the extra scoring plus I want to see him win ROY. 🤷🏾♀️ I truly believe he's the best pick out of the draft 🙌🏾
Glen Rice and Greg Grant of Michigan went on to play in the NBA. You can't be recruited by the Navy if you're over 6'6. In order to fit into a submarine. David Robinson is 3rd generation Navy and got in on a Math scholarship. Then he grew six and a half inches.
Yep! He was drafted in ‘87, but did 2 yrs (land duty of course) of the 4 yr military commitment service academy grads must do. His rookie season was ‘89. Spurs gave him a million to keep his rights while he did the 2yrs. Not sure about the height requirements, as I mentioned the navy has land personnel who never board a ship. Plus a yr after David left they’re was a 6’10 frosh on the roster.
Wow, I know that this is just the shots that he made, but that's some impressive form and touch. Robinson was my favorite player in the 90s, but I have a new appreciation for his game now that footage like this is accessible. One of the great talents, ever.
@@philipcallado5693 - No, a box-and-one is a better defense against a guard on the perimeter not a center in the lane. The box-and-one defense leaves the paint exposed, so a mobile center like Robinson would have eaten that alive. For example, the Toronto Raptors and the Miami Heat used a box-and-one a few years ago during the playoffs against the Celtics to slow down Kemba Walker.
@@philipcallado5693 - Eh, I don’t think any zone would have worked against him. You saw his performance. He could get off a mid range shot from anywhere in or near the paint. That’s how he got most of his points during that game and for most of his career. You have to double or triple team him not throw zones at him.
@@philipcallado5693 - A zone defense won’t work well against a center with a consistent jump shot like Robinson. He can just find the seams in the zone and then weave through the lane and pick and pop all game.
You do realize Robinson was by far and away the only NBA caliber player on his team? It was basically him and a bunch of military guys against one of the best college teams of that era.
I'm here because steve kerr compare James wiseman to David Robinson Navy Version
same

@@FeliciaRenee143 Yep same thought. If this is what he is right now. The league is in trouble.

This is not true plenty of naval officers that went to the Naval Academy. That’s on the basketball team that’s over 6”6

Did they drapht him at knowly wait on him for two years
Thx for posting this. Been looking for this game for a long time
The definition of one on five
Surprised they didn’t try a box and 1 against him. Is it possible to box and 1 a center though?

@@johnbrowntheprophet so probably just like a zone, maybe even a 2-3, and just pack the paint? Make the other team beat you from deep.
