Think “free for all” adoptables. Most of fanpros are crudely drawn so ppl can reinterpret them a lot more differently. This is absolutely *stunning*, but goodness, something about the characters stance and expression is really unsettling to me. Like, threatening, but on a subconcious level? I'd take the hell off if I encountered them in a dark allyway like this.

Thank you for sharing the progress of this painting. It is a really pretty and cute piece. Also it is.. kinda helpful to see the progress to go from lineart to painting for me since I would like to do that but I never know how to approach this for characters.
AkinaTakesora I feel ya on this, especially when you don’t take the time to clean up the line art 😅. Though, after trying it more often, you might find that you’re able to slip into the painting mindset more easily. I think the hardest part is switching the mindset and choosing a light source and staying consistent to it.

@@ochrogasting hi, sorry i thought it was medibang, a good drawing software thats free. but i looked it up and found out that its normally around $50 us dollars. But it can go on sale for about $15 us dollars. Sorry but from the dark layout of the program it looked like medibang (ᗒᗣᗕ)՞
Plenty of people makes timelapses, but I'm sure your channel would be better with some explanation/tutorials about lights, coloring, overpainting on lines etc. Good work.
Is it just a matter of painting over the line on a different layer? Or on the same layer as the lineart? Or on the base color layer? (This looks fantastic by the way AMAZING JOB 🙌)
Tip do shadeing first and then color your character with one color that reprrsents the character useing the magic wand then start to ad contrasting colors and extra shadeing
Did you used to have a pinned comment? This little jester character has me curious for more information about her. All I know is that you created her for an adoptable character oc organization thing on tumblr. Is there more to her character development though?
At the start, there's a part where you colored her a flat orange then turned it to gray. Why is that? I've seen that before but never understood what that does. Lovely job, by the way! :)
MilleniumMaiden im pretty sure it select the outline& inside of the lineart and turns it into a layer to paint on, without worrying about going outside the lines

Man when I watch artist draw over their line art or on one layer I feel incredibly untalented lol I've tried my hand at it every once in awhile and every time as I steadily go over my lines my picture turns into some sort of deformity... You definitely have an amazing sense of shading! Beautiful work!
