I think your analysis of this book is so good and interesting. I am a pastor, who is also a huge Stephen king fan. When I think about the things in the shop in this book, I also think of sin. Sin is often a cheap and immediate imitation of what God wants to give us Fully in his own time if we wait and have faith. Leland, gaunt thrives on people’s selfishness and greed, bringing Chaos to Castle rock. I love that you read Stephen King to find a deeper meaning. Far too few people actually do that I would love to hear your analysis of Billy Summers From the same perspective. That book has a lot to say about good and evil as well. Keep reading!

This might be one of my favorite comments ever! Thank you so much!! So refreshing to hear from someone else who has the same beliefs as me see this from the same perspective! Thank you for the comment ❤️ I have not read Billy as of yet, but now I'm excited to pick it up! You rock, God bless! ❤️

For a while I’ve thought about this story because it really stuck with me and I think it’s one of the best works from him. I hadn’t heard so much about this book and after having come across it, I found that surprising. It’s horrifying and sad but I love the way the story was told ❤

On page 525 at the moment so I still got a little ways to go, but I've definitely noticed the allegory with Gaunt. In the first 1/3 of the book, I couldn't see it because I thought Lieland had some sort of biased objective, but as I read on I realized Gaunt shows no partiality and tries to destroy everyone equally. He doesn't have any agenda outside of THE agenda to destroy everyone who opens that door. I also love how the Baptists and Catholics are too busy bickering with each other to notice what Gaunt is doing. It reminds me of how petty some denominations can be in battling each other's theology which tends to sow more division.

Yes. Tthis is how otherwise good people are tempted. I have asked myself what Mr. Gaunt coukd offer me to get control of me, There ar things that could tempt me.

I haven’t read this one yet. There are some, shall I say, “issues,” I have with Stephen King’s pervasive Twitter presence, which I try to avoid, but, you know. Anyway! Read The Dark Tower Series!! You’ll love it.

Great book but the ending was awful. The one time I would say the movie is somewhat better. But I agree it is a good book to read but the last ten pages or so is very disappointing

@Miranda’s Universe the ending in the movie was way better. Stephen King can never end a book very good

@@mashmash7877 usually I would agree (under the dome and 11/22/63 specifically upset me) but I thought this ending was one of his best. I'll have to give the movie a try! Though I've heard the movie isn't very good, we shall see
