    Thank you so much, for this video. I am well taught in sewing miniature clothing. However, I’d love to learn to crochet. I bought a ton of yarns from a thrift store, still need to buy needles. These triangles would come in extremely handy in doll clothing. I would place two together at the tips for a bikini top. And, use two to make a bikini bottom. I’m not there yet, but I can visualize it well.

    What do you mean by blocking with the triangles? I’m teaching myself to crochet and would like to know some of the projects you’ve used with triangles! I have 3 girls (13, 11, 4... my boy is 16). I’d like to make a blanket for my kids. My goal is to make them each one they can take with them when they leave the nest and many other special occasions! Your video was easy to understand! I look forward to trying this!!!

    • @YayForYarn
      @YayForYarn  3 года назад

      Hi! I have a video on blocking here: ruclips.net/video/imZ6xIQs79k/видео.html Blocking is a way of relaxing the fabric, and getting it to its final look and feel. It can also help fix any curling and make the triangles lay flat. I hope this helps!

    Hi! I have a question. I wanted to make a triangle that was longer (two of its sides longer), would I just reduce the number of stitches on every other row or however many rows to skip?

    • @YayForYarn
      @YayForYarn  Год назад

      Yes, you could just decrease on every other row instead of every row, and that would make it longer. I hope this helps!

  • @zainabkazim564
    @zainabkazim564 3 года назад

    So for every single crochet do I work it into the chain next to the one from which the yarn is coming out of? Or is that just for the first double crochet of the row?

    • @YayForYarn
      @YayForYarn  3 года назад +1

      Hi. If you want a triangle that is taller, you'll need to work some plain single crochet rows in between the decrease rows. Maybe you could try working one plain row after every 2 or 3 decrease rows. I hope this helps!

    I got a question do you have to then skip 2 crochet chanies every time when you start to the end that how triangle because i am very confused.

    • @YayForYarn
      @YayForYarn  3 года назад +1

      Hi Amelia. On the first row, you'll want to skip the first 2 chain stitches and work your first single crochet in the 3rd chain from the hook. On the following rows, you'll chain 1 and turn the work... then, instead of working the first single crochet of the row into the same stitch that the chain is coming out of, you'll work the first single crochet into the following stitch. (This is because we are counting that chain 1 as the first single crochet, and working a single crochet into the same stitch the chain is coming from would be adding a stitch, which is not what we need to do at the beginning of the row.) Then, at the end of the row, we work a single crochet 2 together (sc2tog). The first part of the sc2tog is worked into the last single crochet of the row below, and the second part of the sc2tog is worked into the top of the turning chain from the row below. Does that help? Please let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks!

    • @YayForYarn
      @YayForYarn  4 года назад +1

      If you want to turn this triangle into a square, you'll probably need to experiment with it a bit. As you crochet around the triangle, you'll need to use smaller stitches around the wider part, and taller stitches around the narrower part of the triangle. I would suggest just trying it out, and experimenting with it to get the square shape you want. I hope this helps!
