  • Hi Crochet Friends!
    Welcome to a Crochet Basics tutorial. We are taking a closer look at crocheting a new shape and how understanding to decrease and/or increase your stitches can open up another layer of crochet creativity for you.
    This is a follow up from our Crochet Quick Chat #3 on what is a decrease stitch and if you haven't seen it, you can check it out here:
    • Crochet Quick Chat #3 ...
    We also referenced our Christmas Tree Applique which follows the same principals of creating a triangle from the centre out using an increase technique. You can check that out here:

    Thanks! This was super helpful :)
    I'm making a checkered bandana and decreases and increases always confused me, some tutorials just go too fast, but yours is very clear, thank you again!

    I'm trying to crochet an obtuse triangle... is it possible to make one with decreasing or increasing?

    • @TheStitchSessions
      @TheStitchSessions  2 года назад +1

      Hi Nari, It is indeed possible. Might need a little patience but can be dance:) You would have to begin with a chain row and always decrease on one side and increase on the other so your work can begin to "lean" then when you are ready to create the point you would have to stop increasing on your "increase side". Hope that helps. I may very well do a tutorial on this shape. Thank you for asking! Good luck!

      Hi Hailey! Yep, you can use the lemon peel stitch as long as you start off with an even number of chains to begin. I thin that will look really pretty:)

      Hi Maudeen, you can join them by whip stitching them or using the join as you go method similar to a granny square like i did in this tutorial here: ruclips.net/video/E1R15SIffTg/видео.html Hope that helps!
