That satchel holds a lot. I have a ny times from 9/12. I bought it at a book store that used to have some of the major newspapers from around the country.
Got a local paper from then also. Just some historical and interesting things through the years. Kind of neat to look back and see how things have changed. Take care and thanks. Steve
I was just a kid at the time but really enjoyed it. Kind of fun to look back at things once in awhile. Really got a kick out of seeing the prices of things. Hard to believe we thought things were rough back then. Financing offers for those floor model Tv's.😄Amazing.Take care. Steve
That's funny I've stayed at the Ourtrigger also, a few times. They have a couple different buildings. Thing that gets me, I would wake up early being east coast timer, fix my coffee in the room and go sit on the balcony watch the sun come up. Do you know how many people wake up in Hawaii go to the window when the sun is up and throw the drapes open to see the place because most fly in at night. Also do you know how many of those people sleep naked and open the drapes in the morning then realize they are naked, to funny.
Only time I've ever been over there. Did't know if it was still a hotel or not. I remember adjusting to the time difference also. Didn't know about the drape thing. Mom called me one day I was there and didn't take into account the time difference. Woke me up about 3am one morning. Thanks. Steve
Doubt you could fly round trip to Atlanta for 499 nowadays. I kept a newspaper when Reagan got shot. Also on 9/12. Probably in my attic someplace. You might take the Missus to Atlanta or Charlotte on a commuter flight, fly down, never leave the terminal, get on plane and come right back same day. They both about an hour or less flight. Just my 2 cents. Have fun!
I know. The prices are really outrageous. Been checking a few flights for early next year. It's quicker but I might just drive. We enjoy road trips. Have thought about those short hops like you mentioned. Years ago we used to drop my aunt off and watch her plane take off going to Pittsburgh. She'd be landing about the time we got home from the airport. That trip to Hawaii was the first time I ever flew. Back when you boarded the plane from the tarmac from portable stairs. Take care. Steve
