  • A great day planespotting at Glasgow Airport in August 2019 as Virgin Atlantic Airways newly delivered Airbus A350 was doing a series of pilot training flights throughout the day.
From United Airlines flying from New York to Emirates huge Airbus A380 arriving from Dubai there really is plenty to see.
This was filmed before Thomas Cook Airlines sadly collapsed in September 2019.

I wish Virgin still flew to Glasgow, it’s a real shame that they stopped.

I think it’s Edinburgh airport there’s a small hill you can walk up then spot planes taxiing and taking off I go there often it’s a good spot!

Nice video, is Glasgow airport (in normal times) quite a busy airport? How long were you there for Cheers

Great job as always Jonathan 😉😉 btw I thought that the Trent XWB engines were eco-friendly. But 36:55 shows the opposite 😂😂

Hey Jonathan could I ask what sort of equipment do you use at Glasgow as I usually will spot there however the perimeter fence that surrounds the runways can be a real pain...thanks

Hi, thanks for your comment. I use a Pansonic HC-V250 camcorder and a Velbon DV-7000 tripod. In all the years of spotting at Glasgow I've never had an issue there. I know some have, but only because they have been in areas along that fence where they shouldn't have been.

@@JonathanWinton123 Thanks Jonathan I usually will spot, and try to shoot video just it always autofocusses on the fence and I can never seem to make it focus on the aircraft
