I used the cobb grills for over 5 years. One year the cobb grill was all that I used for cooking meals every day. It is an excellent grill, easy to light, efficient with charcoal usage, and cooks almost every type of food.

I bought one of the originals about 30 years ago. It still works a treat.

This cobb is from the newer range. I have one from the first that came out and it has a special plastic outer casing. We have had ours for 12 years, use it often and absolutely love it.

I bought the large one for a gift and the smaller one for me. When I tried to use it on a camping trip, I gave up after trying to get the charcoal to light. Never happened. Not sure why it never lit. I put it away and have not tried it again. If someone has a suggestion on how to get the charcoal (it was easy lite charcoal) to start. Not a happy camper.

I believe it's because we are using wrong charcoal. Try to use original coconut charcoal from Cobb.

Make sure the briquettes have fully lit and turned grey all over before starting to cook.

I have noticed also this, but I believe it's because we are using wrong charcoal. Try to use original coconut charcoal from Cobb.

I find it not hot enough, too. So i purchased a LARGER fire basket and used lump charcoal or more brickquettes.. adding a small portable fan at the bottom.. with the new design ... the lid has a more opening holes with controls allowing charcoal burning at faster rate to generate more heat...so if you want heat....more charcoals but add them in a way that more oxegen can get in to generate more heat
