As a vegan, I’m extremely thankful for this detailed review as I mentally prepare for my meals. I’m headed on this cruise next week! Thank you so much, God bless you both!💕
When I saw the length of the video I was like “I ain’t gonna watch all of that!” But I did! lol I love your personalities! You guys are such a sweet couple. Thanks for the great in depth review! I’ll be going in my first cruise ever on the explorer and I can’t wait!
Loving the vlogs guys. They will be really helpful for us when we start preparing for our cruise on Explorer this September! Sherri you should be presenting on TV!!
The dining menus in the dining room are being revamped to reduce food waste. This will send many customers to either specialty restaurants, sorrentos, or the Windjammer for dinner. In addition on some ships a few people will go to the solarium bistro which is a free specialty restaurant with some items costing extra.
Just discovered your channel. Really enjoying your videos. Found this Explorer series very interesting and useful as cruising on her from Ravenna on 11th June. I particularly like the occasional interviews you do as this is not part of many other cruise blogger channels.
Thanks so much for watching! I believe the reason so few vloggers do interviews is because views tend to go down during that time in the video. I guess you and I are in the minority for enjoying them. 😂 We’ll keep doing them here and there, for sure!
@@AllThingsWagner thank you for replying. I live in Ireland my husband and I have been cruising since 2009. I found your views of Wonder, on which we had a few days when it arrived first in Europe, were very similar to our own. The lack of a pool in the solarium was definitely a con. We also found the subterranean Diamond lounge very unappealing. Not being big gamblers we always search out the penny slots and we disappointed not to be able to find any on Wonder. The aqua show was terrific and we loved the ice show. We also enjoy your food reviews both for MDR and Windjammer. Good luck with the channel we will be regulars from here on in 😀🍀
Great review guys, really detailed. The food looks good on there, where were you cruising? I’m on Explorer in September from Italy and wondered if they’d change the dishes to suite a European taste. American chocolate is a hot internet subject haha, all I say is you probably have to be American to like it. Keep up the great work!
@@trevorpearce3898 we were sailing in the Caribbean. I hear they often change some of the food choices to closer match the embarkation port population, so you may very well see some changes akin to European cuisine! Thanks for watching!
I'll be on her in April after her amplification loved seeing all your Explorer videos. And I have a shirt that says On Cruise Control as to your On Cruise Mode shirt lol
Included locations are the Windjammer Buffet, Main Dining Room, and Cafe Promenade. Specialty restaurants like Chops are an extra fee. You can see the EOS eating venues on the main RCI website. The choice to spend extra is entirely a personal decision. The food quality ranges from ship to ship. We usually either purchase a Chops+1 or 3-night package. You can find those options on your cruise planner online. 👍🏼
Everything looks delicious! My husband and I are honeymooning on Explorer of the seas in June! Is lobster included on the first night as an option? And then the second night they charge?
It’s on the MDR menu every night for a fee. It is served on one of the formal nights on the included menu. The first serving is free, and my understanding is that servings after that are extra. Have a great cruise!
Is it me or do the windjammer food options seem a bit pedestrian or simple compared to previous RC cruises? I get the feeling that they have cut quality.
It was. There were plenty of international choices in the buffet. I doubt the MDR menu will change a lot because they just changed them overall a while back. 👍🏼
We really don't schedule around that, I just eat my meal, and by the time I'm done, it's usually fairly clear. I also, of course, edit out the moments I've had to wait behind someone to continue through the buffet, but I try and wait for a lull in the line before I head up there to film.
@@AllThingsWagner awesome. Love your videos. Very helpful. Wife and I will be on Explorer March 18th as first time RC guests. We’ve sailed Carnival and wanted a change. So now we are like lost puppies trying to figure out how it all works. Lol
This is one of the more detailed reviews of the food. I am glad that she talks about all the options at the windjammer.

Great Job, Guys. My wife and I will be on the cruise ship in two weeks. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
Thanks and you’re welcome! Have a great cruise!!
Thanks for the effort folks, while eating is important, I need to know about the ship for when I'm not eating
We have a vlog from every day of sailing to show and talk about aspects of the ship. Check them out!
True Texan would never wear a hat at the dinner table.
I did enjoy all your insights!
Really enjoyed your Vlogs..We are doing the Med on Explorer so seeing the ship and your experiences are very helpful.
Thanks so much, Colin! Welcome to our sailaway crew. What a great itinerary. You’ll have a great cruise.

The Oasis class ships offer amazing additional dining options! These medium-sized gals do have more limited options.
@@AllThingsWagner Quantum and Oasis class have extra dining options compared to Voyager, Radiance and Freedom classes.
Very insightful! Now I really know what to look for!

First time cruiser here! Just booked explorer for April 2025 in caribbean. Are these places/resteraunts in the video included in the price?

Yes, I would actually agree. Since the restart, the WJ has become a bit monotonous. ☹️ Still better than I eat at home. 👍🏼
@@AllThingsWagner Fortunately I eat quite well at home :)
Was this a Caribbean cruise? Hoping the menu is less 'American' when we sail in the Eastern Mediterranean next year.
It was. There were plenty of international choices in the buffet. I doubt the MDR menu will change a lot because they just changed them overall a while back. 👍🏼
Great video, guys! Well done! ✔️ 👍 We feel hungry now 😂😀
😂🤣 thanks.
Do you know what time is the buffet open? I could not find it anywhere
It varies per cruise, but generally it’s 7-10:30am; 12-2pm; 5:30-8. Check your app or Cruise Compass for specifics.
Good review 🙋🇩🇪
What time of day do you go in order to film without so many people?!

The wife n I are going on Explorer of the Seas for cruise 🚢 this April ‘23
Happy cruising!!
Proper etiquette when dinning: Never wear a hat at the dinning table. Other then that enjoyed your review
Do you prefer early, late or my time dining and why? I’m trying to decide and need help :)
We always do 5:30-6, whatever early is. We then go to the 8 pm show.
@@AllThingsWagner thank you! That’s kind of what I was wanting to do. Does it usually give you time to watch a sunset or 2?
Is this buffet stuff available all day?
Yes, but it’s closed for a couple of hours between meals for them to switch out the food.
@@AllThingsWagner awesome. Love your videos. Very helpful. Wife and I will be on Explorer March 18th as first time RC guests. We’ve sailed Carnival and wanted a change. So now we are like lost puppies trying to figure out how it all works. Lol
@@CigarsNTequila thanks so much for watching! The Royal Caribbean Blog channel is also a really good source for all things Royal.
On Explorer next month. Can you order wine at the buffet?
Most all the RCI ships have a bar inside the Windjammer, so I'm 95% sure it's a yes.
I got food poisoning after eating at the Windjammer. Thankfully it only lasted a day.
Oh wow. Sorry to hear that. Glad it was short-term.
Everything like delicious...BUt not the pasta...
I tried, I cannot. Amateur hour at it's finest.
Oh well. Thanks for trying. That was our first food vlog. I’d like to think we’ve gotten better since then! 👍🏼
