I have one of these in the box. Not my original from 1980. I loved the Tomy electromechanical games of that era. I remember seeing the commercial for this and I wanted it so much. I still play with mine on the occasion for nostalgia. A great one to have in the collection. Thank you for the demo.
Glad you enjoyed it. Ignore my terrible gameplay. The only games I ever knew to play well were poker, chess, backgammon, board games in general. I am terrible at everything else :-)
every time I play with something like this, I am reminded that I shouldn't stay on the road for too long. On a serious note, I have seen these go for cheap even on eBay. Here are my other Tomy games: www.youtube.com/@Gadgetify/search?query=tomy%20game
from an age when bits and bytes were still more expensive than mechanics. I've got this in Space Invaders Version but knew this from my childhood in the 70ies
Hard to describe how expensive these things were new ,normally around 30 bucks but you could sometimes get them for 20 to thirty if you could find a clearance sell or a store closing. Thirty dollars may not sound like much now but back then it was at least a days pay.
I am now 50 years old with two kids and looking back I appreciate so many things our parents bought us and never talked about how much these cost. I guess you can not appreciate your parents until you have your own children.
not right now but I have seen a bunch of these in the past few months. The yare not that rare it seems. Right now though seems a couple are up but for parts.

Makes me want to dig mine out from the attic. What a great game
I had the exact one when I was 10. What an amazing memory, thank you so much.
PS: You need to speed down between the two poles. The rest is highspeed.

Yeah got this for Christmas or my birthday don't remember now but it was definitely early 80s.
I like the bigger model, Turbo Racing. Have you seen that one?
Yes i do remember that toy but never owned it. Incidentally if you try and take the game apart it's not as cool as you think.
I wish I still had this. Totally repetitive but awesome for its time. So cool that the wheels turned. Hit and Missile was my other tomy game.

So it’s like Excite Bike but predates it by half a decade. Cool game!
