To be fair, they're trying to explain a language variation (register) mostly exclusive to the upper class in British society. While they play characters belonging to this class, the actors themselves might not know the jargon and slang the royals or upper class use unless it's actually something that their characters talk about. So I dont think it's fair to say they dont know about their own country when these might not even be general knowledge to the majority of the UK.

During my period of working in the hospitality industry in London I had on quite a few occasions the chance to meet some of the acting folk. And on conversing and networking with these troubadours I did indeed discover that I had not been misled. Charming confident and witty at first encounter a further exploration of their persona soon led one to the impression that it was all an act ,a façade, a show .The lines and information were all of another's design and requests for elaboration and detailed description were met with excuses,mumbling and change of subject.In truth it was all show and they were in some cases children. Some or most just blessed with genetic good fortune and self centeredness helped by a lifetime filled with allowances and freedom. Plus a sort of obedience unknowingly accepted by them just for being good decoration. Where do we put smiley bright eyes at the party,oh out front where they can't do any harm. It is no wonder they are all represented by just a handful of business managers in the whole of London.No great at business but not thieves and charlatans. And this interview just reminded me of the things I had overlooked about the actors I had encountered. These two are a couple of airheaded morons who can barely walk and chew gum simultaneously. It is a wonder they get dressed without help.
