The tempo is right. Aggressive and violent yet soothing. Ugly and beautiful. This is the band that kept me going over 20 years ago. First 2 albums still fucking do.
This song sounds right with Eloy playing. I never saw them with Jay but in every video he played it way too fast. The slower tempo "Joey version" is what makes this song so heavy and amazing live.

@@robertreyes4243Triggers are a piece of drum hardware that a lot of live musicians use. Instead of micing up their kick drum, they attach a trigger to it. It picks up a bass drum hit and basically sends an electronic note instead of the sound of the actual drum like a mic would. Helps keep volume consistent when you're playing faster and taking shorter, less powerful strokes. A lot of people are anti-trigger. I'm not, but it's still impressive when someone can pull it off without using em.

For real. He sounds amazing and his vocal quality is still all there even at 50 years old.
I believe we're able to notice that due to him not having to rush his singing - and, consequently, breathing - like he had for the past decade.
@@matheusqc5405 at his age he needed something more professional because the time of unbridled madness has passed, now Slipknot has musical quality, Groove and nothing is rushed so Corey sings more calmly and the guitars can do the riffs and solos more calmly and all this because Eloy was the fundamental piece that was missing.
The tempo change at the breakdown was brutal…
I can't wait to actually hear a good recording of Slipknot with Eloy on the drums. Maybe rerelease an anniversary set with Eloy recording back to Iowa. Absolutely the best direction and I couldn't be happier for the band.

IMO, this particular song shows how Eloy is the right drummer at the right place. He makes kick acceleration to build up the music but instantly after comes back to the right tempo. In fact, in this song, he uses kick acceleration as a fill. Really impressive and insane.
Disasterpieces was the first DVD I've ever got. Never got to see them live, but finally going to do it here in NYC 💥💥💥
As a Brazilian I'm also very excited to see Eloy playing with them. Full cycle! 🤘🏻
