THIRD EVER WHITE BELT BJJ TOURNAMENT ***IMPROVEMENT*** (w/ commentary)

  • Since I got completely stomped in my first ever bjj tournament pre COVID, it's nice to see improvement in my game in the competitions post COVID. Here's a little commentary showing my thoughts during the matches.

    Nice work! It’s always encouraging to be able to see improvement. I was at that tournament as a brown belt, but I ran into a couple of killers that beat me by points. Still a good time though!

    you generally do not get guard passing points if there is no guard to pass.

    Be careful with crossing your feet when you have the back. It is a great way to get submitted.

      Nah white belts that's not allowed so it's safe

      @@PheseantNetsuke I don't think that is right. Person on bottom can cross 1 leg over the feet and squeeze. I don't think that is illegal in ibjjf tournaments. Also bad habits are hard to break

      @@PheseantNetsuke I don't think so since you are simply crossing your legs over your opponents crossed feet.

      @@PheseantNetsuke Foot locks are legal for white belts in IBJJF anyway
