Sapporo is the 2nd snowiest city in the world, with an average annual snowfall of 4.85 meters/15.91 feet ... #1 is Aomori, a seven hour drive south of Sapporo, and it gets almost double the snow Sapporo does
If it is south of Sapporo then why does it get more snowfall

To Australians like me, snow is a wonderful thing, like magic. It snows in Australia, but it's generally restricted to a few small alpine areas. Only a tiny fraction of our population has regular access to snow - there is no major population centre where it snows. I've walked in light snow on a mountain in Tasmania, but never seen it falling from the sky.
i’d really like to go to japan, it was always my dream 😭😭.
I went to Hokkaido 3 years ago in 2019 and wanted to go back so badly because it's such a beautiful and peaceful place. Now that the travel restrictions are lifted I might go again during the winter.
This is so heartwarming... My three favorite things combined: winter, snow and Japan. Love it
Love your channel. This is how I imagine a perfect winter. Sadly there is no snow anymore in the part of Germany where I live.
I've watched so many different channels where people show Paris, Barcelona or New York but nothing comes close to the futuristic and clean look of Japan. Beautiful country from what I've seen so far. Just stunning!

@@zarrowthehorse it used to snow when I was a child here but now it's not anymore. Maybe 1-2 days per year but that's it. When I was a child we had snow early December until very late February even beginning till mid if march.. only a fairytale nowadays..

Last time i saw that much snow here in my country was in December 2010. Beautiful landscape there in Sapporo. Hope to see Japan one day. Konichi wa ! 🇯🇵🇩🇪
haha i remember that year....i had a week off school haha
December 2010 was the UK's coldest since 1890. We had persistent cold for weeks. I remember when the second major storm hit us about a week out from Christmas; it came down very quickly. I watched it out of my window over about an hour. I think in the end we had about four inches of it on the outskirts of London. Some places along the east coast got feet of it.

You wouldn't want to be in a snow storm. This video shows a nice snowy day, everything is just great. Nothing is great in a snowstorm and your life could very well be in danger, people have frozen to death meters from their house.

I visited Sapporo back in November of... 2016? 2017? This video brings back some good memories. What an incredible city to just walk around and take in. The underground sections just blew my mind when I was there.

This brings back a lot of memory’s when I went to Japan in 2018 I am 11 years old now and I went with my mum sister cousins and dad we went skiing saw snow monkeys japan had memories I will never forget thank you the crunching of the snow also brings a lot of memory’s flooding back it makes me emotional because now days it’s so expensive and there’s COVID I wish one day I can go back 😞

I live in Tokyo and took a two-week-long trip to Hokkaido in Jan. It snowed every day and perhaps every time, from Wakkanai to Hakodate. At least the Snow Festival is fantastic and I love the underground passages in Sapporo. Much easier than Tokyo but reliable and safe.
