- This video features scenes of New York, Susquehanna & Western's March 14, 2023 Utica-Sangerfield NY freight (46 miles roundtrip), both en route to Sangerfield and back in Utica on Schuyler Street. We were in the midst of a major late-season snowstorm.
The locomotives: CSX 2514 & NYS&W 3040.
Thank you for braving the roads in that weather. Great film. All the best from York, UK.
Che freddo! It feels cold just to look! Here we have the first hints of spring. More greetings from Albano Laziale, province of Rome, Italy
Thank you for the beautiful ride through the snow. You are brave for going out there!
This morning my bird bath is frozen solid in Mooresville N.C all the Azaleas are in bloom, this is a late cold 🥶 blast for us warm wishes for All.
I live in Fort Plain, NY. It's nice to know where all the snow we were supposed to get went too. At the most I got 4inches and that was before 10:00am. I love snow!!!!
Man oh man that is dedication going out in that kind of weather.... Then again... that is why you get those amazing videos that the more timid railfan will never achieve. Wonderful stuff Rambler.. indeed wonderful stuff... fast train, snow flying, great sound...... Who could ask for more..
Oh I was out in it filming my local train
Always cool to see trains going down the center of the road. Nice video
Love your vids as always and that old watchman's tower in Utica is a treasure and I hope the city and/or the railroad never get rid of it.
Thanks for sharing watching from Pittsburgh
Greetings from Tonawanda NY. Winter is firmly in command even if we’re on daylight time 🐂💩
Wonderful & Thank You!!
Wow, was it coming down! Glad the train made it safely thru. Witold was a wise old dog, waiting for warmer weather. Loved the video! Hope you made it back safely!

Your opening shot, I had no idea they did that kind of speed locally!
Thanks for getting out in this weather for us!!
Nice one, that was cool! Thanks for braving the weather our friend! (Dave).
We were "blessed" with that snow as it passed over here in Wisconsin a couple of days ago. Thanks for braving the weather to bring us this video. I'm so hoping we'll all be done shoveling soon!
Great video have a blessed day
This was breathtaking! Thanks so much from Southern Oregon. Hope to see Witold soon.
All the way through watching I was thinking of Witold laying in front of a warm fire dreaming of juicy bones. Glad he got a mention in the epilogue. Letchworth G.C. in the UK.
Beautiful snowy scenes! Stay safe and warm!
An interesting winter video, snow like we haven't seen in 10 years. Thank you for your effort to make this video.
Nice video and work! Happy railfanning! Brrrrrrr!!!!!! 😃👍. 273
Enjoyed it.
Thanks for braving the weather to bring us the video! Was able to get a idea for a model from the box car with what looked like new doors! It will make for an interesting addition and conversation piece to my rolling stock! Thanks again from Aurora, NY.
Now that's more like the weather I remember from College Hill. Looks like the scenes from the movie Runaway Train.
Beautiful outside there!!!! We had a white out this morning here in Columbus, Ohio. It snowed . Keep warm and safe, snuggle up with Witold.
Amazing train video!
Love the shots at Schuyler Street.... Just like "Polar Express"!!!😂😂😂
On a dry warm day clean your windshield with glass cleaner. Then clean it with blue rags and 90% alcohol. The apply nu finish the one a year car polish to the window. Let it haze. Then clean off with a microfiber towel. It will stop squeaks and make the water/snow bread off.
Hi from Norwich
Nice clips! Will be up there in 2 weeks.
Snow will likely be mostly gone by then.
@@railroadingrambler218 Yes, I know. Wasn't much snow this winter anyway so I don't feel like I missed much. Maybe we can meet up one day when I'm up there? When I can, I grab a cup of coffee and park by the rails.
Knuckle open, hoses dragging amazing train crew
To think the first day of spring is March 20th ! Five days away ! 🤪🤪
Another fine video from Okeechobee Florida. Oh, & by the way, it isn't snowing here. lol Be safe.
Was the brewery the old Utica Club one?
Yes and Utica Club is still brewed there.
Did they repair the tracks south of Sangerfied ? The December 22 issue of Railpace said there in the process of repairing it
No kidding! I’ve heard rumors over the last few years to that effect. I don’t think anything has been done yet, probably in the spring/summer.
Boss to driver at united auto supply .What took you so long ?. I got caught behind a train.
I am moving and have a small book called "F- Units". You can have it if you want it. I live in Utica. PM me and I'll send it out to you.
