- The next Bill Gates will not build an operating system. The next Larry Page won’t be making a search engine. And the next Mark Zuckerberg won’t create a social network. If you are copying these guys, you aren’t learning from them.
Paypal co-founder and author of Zero to One: Notes on Startups, or How to Build the Future, Peter Thiel says the question to ask is not,“What Mark would do?” Instead, entrepreneurs of the digital age must ask: “What great business is nobody building?”
Join Peter Thiel as he discusses how to build a company that moves beyond innovating off existing products and ideas, and instead creates something entirely new.

Courage is much shorter in supply the genius, especially the courage to say ' I don't know'
“We live in a world where courage is in much shorter supply than genius.” - Peter Thiel. “Not anymore.”
Two points I really liked here:
1) The idea that companies that bring things together are what are truly valuable. So, Tesla creating their cars all in house, and Apple creating the iPhone all within Apple.
2) The idea that a company looking for investments should not value itself in comparison to what has raised already but rather what it will be able to do in the future.
Apple creating iPhone within Apple? By within Apple you mean in Taiwan where they put cells on the first floor so the Asian dudes don't splatter themselves on the ground for the 18+ work hours there?
during the first few seconds Peter looks like he's about to start throwing barrels at people
Perhaps, this is why America will be remembered for vast money, but certainly not for fine art.
Intellectual hero of mine - the philosophical framework of definite positivity - so clear , such a rare approach.
watching this 5 years later - Im designing using these ideas & yes i dont want to answer the question = because its a secret.
Courage is at the heart of all great art - a topic avoided by education.
great!
12:08 Buzzwords are like a tell when you bluff in Poker ... mind blown. I mean not because of the content, but that comparison is just a great way to describe it.
first 25 minutes are gold.
Big data - fraud run away as fast as you can. I cannot agree with him any more on that lol (BTW I am a big data implementor)
Same here
1:52. You're welcome.
I would find a way to have a conversation . You are the only person I will give the time of day to from your crew currently.
Just hearing about sex in this context gave me a headache. lol
Instead of focusing on making entire business model 10x better before diving in I would start with tackling a major top 3 customer painpoint with x10 better than next best thing example Paypal was x10 faster to clear payment than Cheque, why? Machine automation = greater effiency than human burocracia. People want things faster, cheaper and better. Am I wrong?
Not creating something new. But solve our problems and our pains instead, without disrupting anything or anyone at a very cheap cost, that makes me happy.
Tell me something that is true that very few people would agree with you on.
1. The US could solve the worlds energy needs by building a national solar network using freeways, deserts and roofs of buildings. The energy would be used here first then sold or traded to the rest of the world.
2. Facebook is not the best social network app ever built. It's just the most popular. I use it everyday.
3. The traditional university is a technology hundreds of years old. You can get a better education online...for free. There should be a test you take to get the honorable title of Stanford Graduate that doesn't cost anything.
4. Cross country travel is slow and annoying. There could be an underground/above ground maze connecting all cities that used a vacuum technology to accelerate travel past supersonic speeds. LA to NY in 10 minutes.
+Stephen Tackett Number 2 might work, but I'd say the other 3 are kind of common knowledge.
+Justin Im Thanks. Ill pitch it to Peter.
all true

Take a shot everytime you hear Uh or Umm.
I respect the intensity that Mr.theil brought to antonimising competition with respect to capitalism. But I have a different take. Both capital and competition serves the general public equally. You are a good monopoly, then you have brought something unique people haven't experienced so far. If you are competing your failure helps your consumer get subsidized return on the their investment. To me capitalism still serves that purpose it's just that so called entrepreneurs who rever in competition end being suckers. And I am OK with that
Is that an iPhone 6 Plus in your pocket or are you just pleased to see me?
The point on failure - isn't that it's good, which it isn't. It's that failure is usually part of the process - and you shouldn't let it stop your inevitable journey to winning.
Peter is so bored (as am I) - by the pointless intro.
Very rich and very poor at the same time. Any man could be comparatively very rich, and only in some aspects. But only the truly good man, who would consciouly admits to himself that he knows, that he is very rich, yet at the same time, very poor in other aspects. --- These men are the most worthy to be my long term teacher, friend, and comrade.
Please Mr. Peter Thiel, let me have a short moment of your precious time, I have the solution to your quest for the world. Thank you for your attention. altc
Overrated as the term "Artificial Intelligence". It is not even intelligence enough to deserve the word.
Reading books has really skyrocket the way I think about investing. Indeed, no one has ever got rich by saving money. If you want to become financially free, You need to Invest. I've come to realize that the key to amassing wealth lies in making sound investments.
I’m trying to get onto the investing ladder at 40. I wish at 55 I will be testifying to huge success!
Whichever firm you select, make sure you get your insurance from a reputable financial adviser, such as *Jenny Pamogas Canaya,* who has dedicated her career to financial planning. Because they will assist you in escalating, navigating better, and completing the task in a safer manner..||
I've come across several positive endorsements of Jenny Pamogas Canaya on various platforms, including RUclips channels, seminars, and more._.
Thanks to these recommendations, I successfully located her online profile and have already reached out to her with a message
We can all thank Thiel for Trump.
That is not true. One of the big regrets of my life was voting for DT. However, it was based on the two candidates and I thought DT was the better choice. The election of DT was a reaction, not a mandate. Thiel is a libertarian and DT is not. Thiel knows about history and philosophy. Thiel knows a lot more about reality than DT does. It goes in cycles - the elections. How different was your life under DT than it was under BO or Joe Biden?
You are in a bit of trouble, no?
please prepare your speech always fresh...
