My wife told me about an article she read of a gentleman working on AI who supposedly stated he didn't think humans were anything special and that the planet would be better off without us. Regardless of whether or not you believe that is true, the implication behind that is if he is successful with strong AI, it would almost undoubtedly be a different form than say Asimov's version of three laws protecting human life.
