- Reaction To Kaya Yanar Roasts Turkey, Germany, Croatia and Denmark (German Comedy)
This is my reaction to Kaya Yanar Roasts Turkey, Germany, Croatia and Denmark (German Comedy)
In this video I react to German comedian Kaya Yanar and his English standup routine talking about German and Turkish culture and the languages of Croatia and Denmark
Original Video - • Kaya Yanar English Sta...
Never seen Kaya performin in english before and its great that he can do his signiture play with accents quite as well as in german
Same here xD
Genau das hab ich auch gedacht!😊
Dito!
Years ago he had a TV show where he played different characters. He was Hakan, he was the driving instructor Mr. Yildirim and of course Ranjid from India and he plays with the diffrent accents, characteristics and clichés of people from Germany and other countries. He has a lot of videos, where he is the most funiest comedian ever.
He‘s fine, but not the top class of comedians in Germany.
I think he is one of our top comedians 😊
@@stefan.defiman So, he does this since decandes, had his own tv show and tv programs, is still touring with his programs and pretty much everybody knows him and many still like him. Makes him top class for sure, no matter if you like him.
Was guckst duuuuuuuu
The best character imho was Olga. 😂
I really like his humor. I always find it so funny how he always mixed German - Turkish culture in his sketches. It`s also super funny when he reenacts his two friends, the Indian Ranshid and the Italian Giovanni with whom he grew up as a child in Germany with their accents. 🤣😂👍
I didn't know this but as a German with Croatian heritage I'm laughing my ass off.
Guess right now similar as Kaya. Coratian, born in Bosnia (well back then Jugoslavia), grown up in Germany and now German writing in english here in the comments section.
Mr World... No, Mr. Europe wide
@@OoJoshioOGibt Deutsche, die über Pocher, Kawusi und Co lachen!
@@OoJoshioO Oder ich gehe zum Lachen nicht in den Keller.
To make it also understandable for non German speakers.
I was told that I have a shitty humor and even shitty jokes make me laugh.
My response: Maybe I'm not going into the basement to laugh.
This would be a stereotype said about Germans. They don't have any humor and they can't show any humor in public, so they go into the basement to laugh.
@@OoJoshioO Was bistn jetz so?
Reminds me of a friend of mine. Bosnian born in Yugoslavia in 1998, has a Serbian passport, speaks flawless German, because she basically lived in Germany her whole life, except for when visiting family on vacation back in Serbia.
Im from Germany and we have sooo many outstanding comedians here, kaya is one one of the top 3
I saw Kaya live nearly one year ago with his show "Fluch der Familie"(engl.: curse of the family) and I never laughed that much in my life! I had tears of laughter all over my face😂😂😂
Kaya was one of my childhood comedians.
I love this guy!
We do have a lot of turkish based people in Germany, the ones I actually know I love to death.
Obviously there's always an exception to the rule, but especially in small towns, they are some of the nicest people ever. I'm really glad that Germany is turning more and more into a melting pot. I mean, London and Dublin and most big cities are as well.
It's just natural that cultures merge together and we're better off with that.
Kaya is definitely my most favorite current german comedian. Loved his TV show when I was a kid, when I went to one of his live performances I literally never stopped laughing (I was so wasted afterwards, positively). He also started doing RUclips videos since covid restricted him from doing live performances for a while and still continues to upload (laughing challenges, reactions, video games etc.) in addition to live acts.
I love seing Kaya playing horror games. It's so fun 😂
His comedy is, generally speaking, quite inclusive, appreciative, in good faith, self-ironic, nuanced, with just a tad of exaggeration, never cynical, never too acidic or divisive. It is observant rather than judgemental.
Kaya was pretty big back in the days, but I still love him today. Right now he is also a streamer, he streams on twitch playing video games and reactions and still plays with accents and language and his famous personas like Ranjid from his older programs. But he also still tours. Oh and he has found his Mrs Yanar :)
with the 6-7k viewers he's pulling he's probably making more money than freelancing on TV.
Love Kaya, most people do, he's a Legend. He usually stays out of dangerous topics etc and sticks to funny stuff in life. He's sort of adorable.
You should definitely take a look at Max Giermann! He is known in germany for his insane accuracy in the potrayal of various characters he is perfectly impersonating; most famously: Stefan Raab, Til Schweiger, Helmut Kohl, Jorge Gonzalez, Markus Lanz AND (most mindblowing) Klaus Kinski!
For the latter I highly suggest watching his Klaus Kinksi portrayal at the "Goldene Kamera" awards 2016. It's crazy 🎉
Yes, definitely. He’s unbelievably good 🤩
Macht absolut keinen sinn wenn man die genannte deutsche Prominenz nicht kennt, darauf zu reagieren
The best of his latest work is Kaya making fun of Swiss people in Switzerland is very funny and also kind of brave. 😂
I loved his take on Switzerland, especially when he was talking about skiing and the different slope ranking 😂
Swiss people like Kaya too.
I think that is because he isn't mean, i.e. he actually likes the people he makes fun of - and that probably includes the Swiss (which may be why he married one).
@@doyouwanttogivemelekiss3097 yeah he is just a likeable guy ^^
Pispers, Welkes Tagesschow, Mittermaier, Yanar are very, very different types of German humor. Yanar's specialty is imitating foreign dialects without speaking the language. I am surprised at his good English. He says that if he met you on the train, for example, he would respond with a Scottish accent...
Pispers was the best. What a pitty, he doesnt work anymore.
Bülent Ceylan is a German comedian with a Turkish father and a German mother, he was raised in the city of Mannheim and talks in the dialect of this city. He plays some figures like „Anneliese“ a wife of a rich merchant, „Harald“ a Building supervisor and many more.
Kaya has a RUclips Channel! He is awesome, even in his lifestreams!
Kaya is great! He can imitate any language. He finally found Mrs. Yanar in Switzerland and, of course, he now also speaks and performs Swiss by explaining typical Swiss behaviour 😂. So cool!
Most common immigrants in germany (2022): Turkey (2,8 Mio.), Poland (2,2 Mio.), Russia (1,4 Mio.) and Romania (1,1 Mio.)
Though Russian afaik also includes former German settlers, Chechnyens and stuff, not just ethnic Russians.
My stomach muscles hurt 😂 sent help! I always liked his comedy. It's stressing the absurdity of life, he loves to see the humor particularly where German and Turkish absurdities come together.
He's FANTASTIC with sound comedy! He said himself during his shows, that he has a habit ob mimicking the accents of ppl wherever he goes and getting into trouble for it. Cause ppl think he's mocking them, but he's just adapting without even noticing and mirroring the language 🤣
I love how his comedy also tends to stay on the friendly side. He's not vulgar or mean. You see him talking about a sensitive topic like death and yet there's that humane apologetic side to it!
kaya is a comedian for over 13+ years.. i grow up with him.. he's a legend
If you want to see a comedian of Turkish origin who isn't soft-spoken, watch Serdar Somuncu. Saw him on tape and live. The man doesn't mince his words. Cheers from Germany
This man kills me. Kaya was in my city and I had to leave after 60 minutes. I could not breathe due to laughing without any pause.
This man is funny. He can be found on YT reading from eBay. Whenever I have a rough day, I watch one of his videos.
Im from germany, Kaya is amazing also his RUclips Channel, the second best is Olaf Schubert and Felix Lobrecht
I like him a lot...I've seen him like 2-3 times in a live show, when he visited our town. He's quite hilarious and as a German with different migration background I can relate a lot to him. :) I think, he now lives in Switzerland with his Swiss wife and a child.
Kaya einfach ne legende
I've never seen him perform in english before and it's just as funny as in german! 😂 Thanks for that!
I do recommend to watch "Vince Ebert". He has a lot of stuff in english. Here I recommend to watch:
"Why the Germans invented the Flachspüler"
or
"German Humor meets American mentality"
Awesome stuff. He also refers to himself as Science Comedian
Kaya Yanar manages to make fun of cultures wizhout being too insulting. He treats stereotypes as equals and never goes too far. One more thing: I watched a reaction video of him. What he laughed most at wasn't deeply intellectual but something totally silly (i think something like a small child sounding like an alarm siren while becomming upset)!
I know that video! Made me laugh so much xD
Everyone knows kaya but more of his comedy tv shows with funny clips and sketches then standup he was one of the big tv comedy stars 20 years ago
Watching his show "was gucktst du?" as a kid was always a highlight!
One of my favourite comedians. 😂😂😂😂
Thank you, Mert, you made my day! Love your channel 😀
Kaya Yanar is great! Most people love him because he is such a nice guy but simultaneously he doesn't hold back for anyone xD
Kaya is one of my favorites. Kaya ist klasse
Yeah, as a German Kaya Yanar and Michael Mittermeier are actually my favourites! We often quote both of them in my family. "Smrt" is one that frequently comes up 😂
funnily enough death in turkish is not really harsh sounding either ^^ ölü means death in turkish ^^
I guess you saw "The Hobbit" Smaug dubs in different languages...
@@peteraffinass yes, but I knew what the word was beforehand. But honestly, I had to laugh because it was just so unexpectet. Definitely no offense to the language and those who speak it intendet.
oooh i LOOOVE Kaya, he is so insane natural clumsy, especially his facial expressions and different used accents are great ❤❤❤❤
I also recommend Torsten Sträter and Dieter Nuhr …😂
I love Kaya. During Covid he started streaming and his gaming streams and reaction streams are almost as popular as his comedy program. He's a lovely person!
Kaya is great. He was very popular in the early 2000s when he had his own comedy show.
I really loved his show back then, Yildirim driving school was always very entertaining (poor Mr. Winter ^^). Kaya now also streams on Twitch
The best comedian TV Show of him is "Was Kickstarter du?" , so best you must watch it too, its the funniest Show of him "Was Kickstarter du?" ^^
Kaya is a german comedian legend. I grew up with all those shows. Nowadays he has a twitch channle and still runs a comedy show
Kaya also streams on Twitch for a while now and he found his Miss Yanar. He lives in the Switzerland but still is Famous Comedian for a whole Generation.
Kaya is fantastic. Saw him live, laughing my a... Off. . I met him after the show. In private athmosphere he is a very calm and modest person. 🙏
in the end, Kaya found his wife. In Switzerland. Guess what he does with our Swiss german?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I saw him live 6 or 7 years ago. He was so so great! And he also did some great improp 😂 Super funny ❤
Kaya Yanar is a telling his VERY Turkish version of this part of German Turkish history: the first Turkish workers came in 1961, 16 years after WW II in accordance with a german-Turkish recruitment treaty of 1961. So the claim of some Turks that they were the ones to rebuild Germany after the war is without valid foundation. Because: During the 1950s, years before the Turks, it was Italien, Spanish, Greek and Portuguese workers who had been coming to Germany on similar inter state recruitment treaties with their respective countries. That was when the German „Wirtschaftswunder“ happened (long before the Turks) - an unprecedented booming of the German economy that created more jobs than the Germany could fill by herself. Only when those - European - sources were exhausted Germany turned to Turkey in 1961. About 900.000 Turkish workers came till 1973. On November 23 of 1973 Turkish recruitment was officially revoked by the German government who was however lenient in the matter of „Familienzusammenführung“, the rejoining of families which many Turkish worker took as an opportunity not only to have their wives resettle in Germany but whole extended families with 4 grandparents and numerous brothers and sisters with their whole families.
Kaya is a flashback to my childhood. Nowadays he’s also a streamer and plays games etc. Quite nice
So I am proud that Kaya spoke English so well - but in terms of level ... he is not a cabaret artist but a comedian, like Michael Mittermeier. ... From my point of view, political cabaret is of higher quality, because it deals with important topics.
Well let's say it's like the difference between "entertainment" and "politics". They're both hold incredibly important functions in society and actual they're best in combination.
Because as muchvad I love our satire, it's often somewhat traumatic and devastating through the laughter. So sometimes you just need the light hearted laughter that is really JUST healing and not "trying to patch you through the process of shattering"
They both equally require a lot of skill. It's just that the skill sets are different. Comedy requires a lot of everyday observation of people. Satire requires a lot of research and "the guts to look where the sun don't shine" 😅

I love Kaya Yanar, because his comedy program isr just awesome. And I love Bülent Ceylan, Ralf Schmitz too.
Kaya´s comedy had a big influence on me and my classmates about 12-13 years ago.His "Was guckst du?" was so frickin Iconic
Kaya i my favorite comedian, i love him and he is also on RUclips and twitch 😁💪🏻My mom saw him in our hometown in Ostfriesland /Germany 😊
My favourite German Comedians are Günther Grünwald and Serdar Somuncu. Especially Somuncu has some serious dark humour wich is right up my alley.
Hey Mert! First of all, i love your channel! I am an Italian guy raised in Switzerland and living since almost 30 years in Germany. So for me it´s an interesting, and at the same time honouring thing, seeing a scottish guy observing and loving german culture. Anyway, You asked for some proposals to more German comedy. Here´s mine: Check out "Bernie & Ert". They have been a part of the "Freitag Nacht News"-Show, wich took place between 1999 and 2006 on german RTL-Television. You will recognize the two puppets as satire charakters of "Bert & Ernie" of the US Child program "Sesamestreet". But beware: The satire is pretty rough! The producers had changed the characters from childhood-type humor, to very rough adult humor! You got to consider, that Germans hasn´t been sensible for some kind of jokes at the period of time! So even if today some things are going to be sexistic, harrasing or glorifying violence, drugs and alcohol: it wasn´t at all at the time! It was just understood as hard but funny satire... 😉
The fathers of after war German „comedy“ were Heinz Erhardt, of course Loriot and Otto… but it was not about roasting but more language tricks and gimmicks and doing Persiflage of daily life…
NICE, Kaya in english
i only knew him from TV & YT 😅 THX👍
Hahaha, i come from Croatia. Didn't know it sounds like this
Kaya is really one of the great comedians. He had many great characters really check out his Ranjid performances they are awesome as well.
Kaya is the best, he's super funny and creative
man i love ya for doin this vids 🙂
He was really big in end 90's early 2000's , I love these guys transferring their comedy to English language. It seems to work well:)
Kaya was very big in Germany like literally 20 years ago, reminds me of good old times.
Glad you tried with kaya yanar...he got lots of multiulturel experience😂
Im happy you see kayar in english we know him love him in germany kajar movie aswell
Kaya is a great voice impersonator and huge in germany. He had a TV Show early 2000 where he screwed over all kinds of cultures when that was still possible. Also great for your channel could be Lisa Eckhart, she is brutal honerst. love her and Kaya.
i have sooo many turkish friends!!! it`s true and we love our turkish-german folks so much ♥ we also love to make holidays in turkey!! my parents wanted to move there for ever
I am Croatian who was born and raised in Germany and I grew up with Kaya. Kaya is by far one of THE BEST comedians Germany has to offer.
Also his take on Croatian languages is not wrong. I remember when I saw this part on german television the first time I almost peed myself.
Slavic languages in general are very difficult to learn and some words even for us natives are difficult hahahahha but it is true ...some words dont have vowels hahahhahahha.
I actually didnt know he did stand up in English as well. In German this particular one is even funnier.
He started out with a show that was called "Was guckst du?" which means " What are you looking at" and he played an Indian character named Ranjid and many more. His indian accent is one of the most loved one.
I hope you check more of Kaya out. It is def worth it.
There is another comedian with turkish heritage, well he is half turkish half German. His name is Bulent Ceylan. Amazing comedian as well.
EDIT: He found his wife but in Switzerland. heheh
meaning he didn't solve the problem of his wive sounding good.
For those who don't know, swiss german is mostly unintelligible to most germans, at least in spoken form. Has a similar problem as croation as in alot of vowels seem to be missing. My theory is that the bavarians once raided switzerland and took all their vowels, which is why the bavarian accent is mostly vowels and swiss german is very consonant heavy, at least in the spoken form.
At first when I saw your video poping up as recommendation I thought you would react to a German video lol. IDK man, but recently I was watching some of Kaya's YT-stuff where he mainly reacts to funny videos (trying not to laugh but he fails so badly all the time) and however your video came up and I had no idea that Kaya ever did a show where he spoke in English. I remember from back when I was a kid how he had a show on TV where he portrayed some different characters. One of his characters that I remember was a Indian guy called Ranjid (If I remember right) who used to own a cow called Rosvita 😂
I love how his humor translates so well to english 😀😅
Of course I know Kaya. Great Comedian.
"Germany didn't have any colonies" Namibia just left the chat.
Not after ww2...
Have we had Otto Walkes already? A must watch if you enjoy dark humor.
absolute legend - very iconic german comedian - same as Loriot and Olli Dittrich
I've had the pleasure to watch Kajar live twice in Germany. I actually never heard of him performing before an English or American audience - in english 😆
One of our funniest 😅
😁 Great reaction. Nothing more to say. 😁😊
Kaya is my favorite comedian, he's the best 😂
I´m from Germany and I love Kaya
We have many good Comedians 👏
Kaya is my favorite 😂😂
Especially when he „Roasts“ Switzerland 😂😂😂
the best one !!!
As stated by many others he had multiple shows in the tv and had a lot of different characters he played. He is actually streaming content on twitch from time to time so if you wanna talk to him you can get him there by chance actually and maybe he will gove you some impressions of his old work :)
Funny thing. I have never seen Kaya presenting fully in English language before. But he is really one of the funniest comedians in Germany and I do like him a lot!!!
This is really interesting, Iam from germany and I know Kayar Yanars German Shows, but I don't know that he also performing in english and also with such an "german history" - based programm. But it's very interesting ^^
So Iam part of this hilarious chain - A german, that watches on an foreign country RUclips channel about german content (if Iam right) an well known german comedian, who is performing in english with different accents about germany. xD
It's more light hearted stuff. Easy laughs, good vibes. :)
My favorite comedian is Torsten Sträter. Unfortunately he doesn't do English comedy or I don't know that he ever did.
Kaya was a very famous guy. His fame decreased around 2015 but he is still known.
Kaya is the best man. Only comedian i have been live too twice.
He also streams on twitch.
Kaya is still one of the greatest.
Freshtorge is also an Comedian who plays many rolls in his sketches. Marianne und Helga, Family Pfützenreiter, Mareike the horsegirl, Sabrina bei der Arbeit,
I only Watch your Videos because of you. The best Language on Earth! Greetings Bo
He did a show about scotland! I think it was called: Kaya Yanner goes to scotland. My family was there on hollydays when he shot his show (we didn‘t see anything, but we were told a part of the castle was closed off for a german comedian)- later we watched the show and it was GREAT! Please react to this! If there is a subtitled version of it.
If you ever want to watch something longer with him, I would recommend - with english subtitles then - "Reiz der Schweiz" (~ Charm of Switzerland). I've grown up with Kaya and he is still funny, 20+ years later. :D
Please, PLEASE comment on Gerhart Polt and his Mai Ling routine. It's the best routine that's ever been written in German satire!
There is a film that’s called “Superagent Ranjid” THIS IS MY FAVORITE FILM WOOW SO GOOD. I have a cow her name is Bonita hehe
Smrt for Death in Croatian reminds me of the Sanskrit, there Death is called Mrtyu.
kaya yanar its one of the best german comedyen
He is really funny. Less political than the ones you looked at before. One of his specialities is to pretend to be a Indian guy. Like the short moment in this clip in english, he can do this perfectly in german with indian accent, too.
You should also check out female German comedians, like Anke Engelke or Martina Hill. They are great!
Kaya has a RUclips and Twitch Channel these days and the situational comedy he creates on the spot is amazing.
One of my favs of his was when he moved his studio and couldn't find a way to connect his gaming controller to his computer because he couldn't find the cable in his moving boxes....it turned into 20 minutes of pure improvised comedy lmao
Hast du einen Link zum Video? Ich verfolge Kaya eher seltener auf Twitch

I love Kaya. He is starring in some famous RUclips videos eg Julien bams and he has his own gaming and reaction streams and RUclips channel. He had his own TV show in German main stream television.
