This is what we call desperation my dude. It's normal to think about sex/relationships, but hypersexual behavior is a problem due to compulsiveness. You found out "no" we're good where we were before, and there forth kept what you really wanted: your relationship with your best friend. People like this? About 15 years ago I developed a slight crush on one of my friends. One day I told him, he said he wasn't interested, and I let the crush pass from my mind since I knew nothing would come from it. We stayed friends and he eventually became my best friend and the brother I've always wanted. I honestly don't know what I would do without him and he feels the same. Also knowing him better now any romantic relationship definitely would have crashed and burned and then I would have maybe lost someone I've come to care for so much. I'm so glad he turned me down. My parents on the other hand have pushed for us to date all this time because they adore him too and it wasn't until him literally getting married this year for them to finally stop. Ick.
Very glad you have them, sorry your parents didn't get it. My friend & I met through our moms. One day mine actually told me that the 2 of them had discussed their "kids getting together." I was utterly disgusted...like being told someone wants you to get with your cousin 🤮
I (AFAB) became best friends with a guy when I was 5, until around high school when we went to different schools and kind of lost touch. I remember getting teased about it by my grandparents when they found out (although I think it only happened once. They're very supportive of LGBTQ+ and racial issues compared to a lot of older adults). During the pandemic I went through some stuff I had from elementary school and I came across a letter (probably a Christmas card or something) from my grade 1 teacher in which she asked my parents when our wedding would be. I loved that teacher, but that comment made me really uncomfortable.
Yo i had a VERY similar experience only a bit older and the genders were swapped. She is one of my best friends today and i confide in her alot. She also got married this year. So here is to people like us! Luck for happy future relationships i mean.

In all honesty and my opinion, using asterisks isn't that bad if you are into actually roleplays with a story or something. And if the person you're texting with is hundred precent okay and will also roleplay with you. People just going in without warning and using asterisks just make actually good roleplayers look bad :(
Yeah, the real problem is the creeps just sexualizing strangers. I don't care about how you sexualize me, see me as a f-ing person. Ask me on a date or learn a bit about me before you just start with the sexual stuff. Even for a ONS, why would I trust a random internet stranger without having talked to them a bit first? What's even worse is the dudes in their 30s or 40s hitting up 20 year old girls, esp if they are ugly. Or guys who are unable/unwilling to read my profile. It's just this wild combination of red flags every of these freaks waves around
OF COURSE if that's done in a consented context there is absolutely no problem. RP is a good thing. But not with absolute strangers who you never talked to before, and by playing yourself (and them)...
It depends very much on where and how you use them. In roleplay, sure. Out of roleplay, they can be useful to add some cues that would otherwise be lost in an online conversation. But if you use asterisks to communicate thinks that you wouldn't purposefully communicate in a real life conversation, you are roleplaying. And that doesn't work without consent. And even in roleplay, describing your own actions as "attractively" and such is the wrong approach because you would be deciding other players' reaction and you can't do that.
One of my red flags are people who complain about the “friend zone.” It’s just another way of saying “I’m only friends with this person in the hopes that they date me.” Ick.
My cousin met his wife online in the early to mid 1990s, back when that was still creepy. Luckily, it worked out for them and they're still married now for about 25 years.
One of the cutest stories of people meeting on the internet and working out is IHasCupquake (Tiffany) and her husband Mario. They are so precious. Okay but can we just talk about the "can't be friends with the gender you're attracted to" thing for a sec? Because I'm a demi pan so am I supposed to like, date freaking everyone or hate everyone? Fun fact: the whole "want me to help you carry them" line actually worked on a female friend of mine. Her (now) husband used that. Granted they were chatting for about two weeks by this point, but she found it hilarious. Depends on the woman I guess. And the timing probably too :)
it's definetly not a line to use to open a conversation in online dating... if you are in a kinky bar/club, yes. if you have already chatted for a while and have tested the waters, yes. if you are chatting on some explicit platform, yes. the line itself isn't bad. an other woman once used it on me and it did work... but.. for fuck's sake. have some sense for time and place! don't act like an AI!

26:30 The person who just derailed the likely unsolicited and completely out of the blue roleplay is legendary. "It's not my fault you thought you lived in this IKEA" is such a great line.
Major rules for roleplaying: - Don’t write anything about the other person’s actions/reactions. That’s called godmoding and it immediately un-immerses the other person/people. - Don’t write something like “*grabs you*” - you’re denying the other person any option but to be grabbed. Phrase it like “*goes to grab you*” or “*reaches out to grab you*” or something along those lines. That allows the other person to decide if they allow the action to happen unimpeded or if they do something in reaction first. - Especially don’t do multiple actions in one post. This also doesn’t allow the other person/people to react to anything you’re doing before you’ve gone onto the next action, and feels very unfair. - If doing an instant message based RP like in most of these posts, limit each post to ~5 seconds of talking at most. If you have more to say than that, either space it out through multiple posts or at least let the other person/people know through OOC (out-of-character) that you’re about to post something long. Sometimes it’s ok to post something longer because it makes it easier for you to organize your thoughts and say what you actually want to say, but it does also limit immersion for others, so accept that they may say that they (or their character) would have interrupted at a certain point, not allowing the rest to be said, and thus having to retcon it. - Don’t mention anything physical about other people/characters unless they themselves have already mentioned it or have confirmed its veracity through OOC. That includes both physical appearance and physical actions/reactions. - Speaking of OOC, it’s always good (in my opinion) to have a dedicated way of displaying when you’re speaking OOC vs when you’re speaking IC (in-character). I would always put my OOC in double parentheses, ((like this)). Other people in my rp group had their own ways of doing it, such as (single parentheses) or [brackets], but it was always consistent and thus clear for each person. I’ve heard of some people having separate chats for OOC, too. For long-term roleplays especially, having OOC conversations amidst the roleplay can be a very valuable tool for making sure everybody is ok with what is going on, for establishing a setting, for suggesting plot points, for saying “hey how about we try steering it down this route, I have an idea,” and for other such things. For the record, these rules apply not only to things like text-based RP, but things like D&D too. As a DM, if a player ever says they do something to another player (such as trying to block them from leaving a room or trying to grab an item from them), I immediately ask that other player if they allow the action or if they try to counter it. It’s always important to give everybody agency in roleplaying of any kind. That’s how you build immersion.
Love the Click’s singing voice even though it sounds very different from his speaking voice Also I must admit that I am an asterisks person WITH CLOSE FRIENDS. I still get weirded out if people I don’t know try that shit. My hubby and I met through a roleplay community so we also did the asterisks. I think it’s fine if you know boundaries.

“Ever butts on your body movements” “I have many butts on my body movement” help I’m wheezing

"I don't have any friends at all, I can't be friend-zoned" has to be simultaneously the funniest and saddest thing I heard all week.
I really like the phrase "I hope you find what you deserve" 😂
It was so violent!
What's funny about that phrase is that the people with bad intentions will think that you're threatening them but the nice people won't lol
@@jaskierdraven9191You'd be surprised to find out how frequently the exact opposite could also be true. All too often, entitled people will think they deserve everything they want, while abused, persecuted and traumatized people will take it as a threat, because they're told all too often that they deserve the worst for being who they are, despite no fault of their own.
It can be wholesome or the worst thing to happen to someone. Truly, what a person deserves.
@@Vlad_Tepes_III I am one of said abused and traumatized people, it really depends on the context. If it was a nice conversation then it can be taken well. If it was a hostile conversation then it's the opposite.

Your son is awesome
@naughtilus0 When so many face-plant over the bar, I'm going to celebrate those who don't, no matter its height. And I'll celebrate OP for instilling emotional literacy in their offspring. It isn't just not-stalking, but being able to own their emotions and maintain a friendship, showing that the friendship is more than just a testing ground for something else, that it's valuable in itself. Imagine a world in which people deal with their emotions rather than foisting them on others. It's many times better than our current time-line.
@@moon-moth1I would see the statement more gender neutral, the child just happens to be male. It is always hard if you’re really into someone and they don’t have the same feelings for you. In all honesty and my opinion, using asterisks isn't that bad if you are into actually roleplays with a story or something. And if the person you're texting with is hundred precent okay and will also roleplay with you. People just going in without warning and using asterisks just make actually good roleplayers look bad :(
Yeah, I use them in warriors role plays. But these are just creepy and often one sided.
Every consensual roleplay (group) chat uses them because it works out extremely well but the consent is the important part here
It depends very much on where and how you use them.
"I hope you find what you deserve" is such a clever answer to "nice" ppl, totally disarming and a slap in the face at the same time.
Yeeeeah, I do that. Plausible deniability is nice with the real crazy ones.
I hope you get what you deserve.
But honestly... tinder is literally just the same thing, with a new "look" for this day and age 😅 It's always creepy. I am glad that it worked out for them though! ❤
@@TopAnimeLoverEver I remember that story. MySpace, I believe it was.
Sadly yes, tinder is full of hypersexual people with no concept that there are people out there who are looking for more than just a sexy time and are allowed to turn people like that down. But it's always been like that even before the Internet was a thing.

26:30 The person who just derailed the likely unsolicited and completely out of the blue roleplay is legendary. "It's not my fault you thought you lived in this IKEA" is such a great line.
Major rules for roleplaying:
- Don’t write anything about the other person’s actions/reactions.
This sounds extremely complicated. I'll just keep roleplaying with myself in my daydreams.
"Did you just fart? Because you blow me away ☺️"
