this makes me so sad. Its always been such fun to physically shop during the holidays. The hustle and bustle of the malls and department stores. It was such an event to go Christmas shopping as a kid in stores like Sears. Amazon has changed all of that. Not for the better.
American commercialism has convinced Americans that to express love, you must buy, buy, buy. The more expensive the gift, the more you love them. This was without doubt proven when cell phones came out. 12-year-olds given $700.00 to $1000 cell phones just because all the other kids had one. It's actually nauseating....
@@SoapinTrucker Actually, it's a news segment. But you're right; in '75, that was a big video camera the operator carried on his shoulder. The tape was probably about 2" wide, unless they had smaller stuff by then.
@@MrDewayne Yeah, I saw what you did there. I was tired of The Hustle the first time I heard it. (Which was my response to most disco, back in the day.)
I love watching back in time stuff

Now you get to spend more time at home with your family. 😉
@@MrThomasAnderson7892 Not the same.
@@MrThomasAnderson7892 Shopping WITH the family added another dimension to the overall experience.
Yeah. There are no more stores anywhere. The streets are empty everywhere you go!😢😢😢😢
I was three. We had one of those PONG games. I bet I also got the Slinky and Silly Putty from Sears that year.
That Pong demo
Nowadays, Nintendo is practically the only game company that still allows playable demos at stores.
Best year of my life.

I wish I knew what ISO speed film they were shooting
It doesn't look like film at all, and it's a commercial, so probably a professional news camera (electronic) magnetic tape.

I was there
Me too it was a lot better
Do The Hustle
Thanks, I'll pass.
@@RobMacKendrick I made a reference to the song Do The Hustle it was released in 1975 the same year as this video footage
