Depends on the car. I’m no battery expert but I like minimum of 65c for my bigger cars. 5500mah minimum but more is definitely better. I’ve been very happy with my zeee batteries and my Ovonic batteries. Might try some Gens Ace soon too.
good coverage, Hopefully this HSP platform crosses genres, better than the original one. The original was the exceed, driftstar, redcat lightening, volcano, and a many others. That was a great platform, but the durability got worse as the tires, and suspension got bigger. It's a good concept, for parts supply if nothing else. I have the new on-road car (your porta potty blaster) And love it. So much so, that I ordered the Buggy version too. So far the truck, looks to follow suit with the older ones. Maybe some alum, upgrades will be offered.
Thanks! Yes the porta potty smasher isn’t bad at all! maybe some fragile wheels. The buggy is good too! This monster truck is just too big and heavy for the somewhat brittle plastics It’s got. The HNR Panther I have is based off this same chassis too and it’s one of my absolute favorite cars!
Quite different to the 94xxx models I've been looking at. they have an oldskool design with a metal top deck as the "brace". But I've only run the road car so far. I was considering upgrading it to the buggy, since parts are so cheap and the car is mostly the same parts, but it runs so nice as a road car. Importing rollers for the old models is really cheap, so one can skip the brushed setup entirely. I wonder how many parts from the older models fit these. I discovered even VRX use the same diffs as these 94xxx HSP cars too (VRX sometimes rebranded by FTX and Redcat)
@@DerbyCityRC most of the parts on the 94xxx are interchangable, just different chassis, top deck and center shaft lengths, and I even found they run the same diffs as the VRX 1/10 cars. I considered spending 30 bucks to convert this flying fish into a buggy, but stuck with a road setup. I'm keen to check out these new HSP models!
Hey i came across your channel and really like it! Im new to the rc car thing (with my 12 y/o son). I have this same truck. Some parts are damaged a bit, but there are aluminium replace parts available for it. Do you suggest me to swap some broken parts for alu ones? I think it will make the car stronger and if i replace parts over time it doesnt cost much to get a better car al together. What are your thought on that? Keep up the nice channel!
Hey thanks man! It depends on what the aluminum parts are. (Also, where did you find them?) I would not replace control arms with aluminum as parts like that will transfer the shock if crashes to bigger and more expensive components, but steering knuckles and certain parts of the steering linkage, is not a bad idea!
I believe so. Higher amperage esc (which this one didn’t seem to have an issue with 3s anyway, it was the motor) and the motor being brushless alone helps with that. Much less heat.
@fnferri Well that depends. HSP may think I was too hard on this so they may never send me anything again. If they offer it, I’ll take it. I also hope they take me seriously on upgrading their plastics first. Honestly the other two cars have done well. The buggy was fun and the drifter video is almost finished. I did break it, but it took a nasty from end collision. Drifter video out in the next day or two.
@@DerbyCityRC thanks, I have one hbx 2996a and planning to buy a real 1/10 scale so this brushless version could be an option, I dont push as hard you do so maybe this can fit,

Nice! Ya man as much as I likes the way this drives (thought drives slow), I was not very impressed with the durability. This platform works well for the drifter and the buggy.
True, however the boost models have plastic diffs and axles. Still possible those are better than this though. I’m sure there’s pros and cons over each just like always lol
The 3rd car in the box is an on road drifter. There’s actually quite a few on road cars from cheaper companies. Actually ontop of the one I just mentioned I have two others to review soon. Maybe a 3rd.

25mph is pretty impressive for 2s brushed motor set up 👌
My thoughts exactly!
Mate, any thoughts about the forthcoming arrma 3s?they have stopped the vorteks and granite
Whaaaaaaaat I had not heard that lol
Hopefully an added center diff like they did to the 4s models!

Good race course.. you need to do a few events, organise a club or go to one and film there also for extra videos..
Gonna make changes to the yard in the spring! Events could happen one day.
cool rc and review, awesome run and bash test

I Like the look of tread pattern on those tires. They got foam inserts? U Think theyd hold up on a fast 3s rig or nah good???
I DO like these tires. Yes foam as well. I tested them pretty good in this video lol: ruclips.net/video/3atzTAOb8PI/видео.htmlsi=-2k3JEA5pZfzcBxm
