To me it sounds like a song of an unrequited love, like two equal warriors or angels that have a deep connection and the man's love for the woman is unrequited when it comes to romance. It is likes she loves him like a brother, like an equal, but does not have any romantic feelings for him. She either loves another, loves another who has already fallen, or is bound to an Oath that will not allow her to love. Regardless of the reason she is singing to him a song from her heart that she hopes will get him to understand his pursuit of her is a waste of time and that he should find another woman to love. When I hear this song, I feel the incredible pain of someone who knows that they now have to hurt another person, a person whose love they cannot reciprocate any longer, a person with whom a happy relationship filled with memories has ended. When I hear this song, I feel the incredible pain of someone who knows that they now have to hurt another person, a person whose love they cannot reciprocate any longer, a person with whom a happy relationship filled with memories has ended. It has ended, brought nights without sleep, and the awareness that no other choice is possible. This is not a story of someone finding something else, and leaving a former 'something' behind. This is someone leaving someone else without any replacement. It is a break from something into nothing. It is a hard hard pain when nothing is a better solution for us than being with a person who loves us. Not a song about the pain of those left behind, a song by those who are doing the leaving.

I couldn't ever figure out some of the lyrics to this song because of the way the words are pronounced and delivered (an accent maybe?).
