He truly thinks any sort of attention from his parents must have been familial love, even tho it was actually abuse physically and mentally. It was really the overwhelming neglect he grew up with, plus knowing that the only reason his parents were having children was out if his fathers twisted desire to basically produce heros who would carry on his name and legacy, so that he could live through them. It's just all so messed up

I think that if Endeavor makes ammends for what he did to Dabi specifically then maybe Shoto can be the one who branches out and helps mend that relationship with Touya and everyone else. I still think there's hope for Dabi to be "saved" just like Deku wants to with Shigaraki. I think there's probably still hope for him to have a good relationship with his family and maybe hope for him down the line too, but I feel like a good chunk of him coming "back to the lighf" so to speak would probably be from behind bars. His big thing was never really about wanting to hurt anyone but Endeavor he just lost the empathy for others along the way cause he was looking out for his own hurting heart. I think if Endeavor tries genuinely to apologize and get through to him and he can see Shoto Endeavor's "golden goose" so to speak suffered in his own ways as much or more at his hands might give Touya some ground for reflection. I think if he like a lot of the main villain squad got the help they needed they're all pretty good people at their core. I think Twice, and Dabi and maybe even Toga and Magne could have all probably could be gotten through to by the heroes and honestly become good themselves if kinda in the against the grain not working by the rules way, not just Shigaraki, but Twice and Mag are dead now and idk how they'll handle Dabi and Toga in the end. I honestly hope they don't die I really like that whole squad cause at their very core they're all pretty good people, but they've been through terrible things and chose to take it out on others, and Toga... honestly idk that she had anything to snap her into acting like that beyond her quirk but she's genuinely sweet outside of the wanting people to bleed. If she had better direction for what to do there in the first place she'd honestly probably never have even been a villain. She doesn't care about being actually evil to anyone really unless they hurt her or her friends.

The only reason he hated Shoto was because he was in the way of that. Now that shows us how crazily in-love Toya was with his dad and how much he wanted to be a hero. He was willing to hate his brother to the point of wanting to kill him if it meant he could stand a chance of being a hero. Toya apologising for attempting to murder Shoto to Natsuo shows us how Toya wanted to try with his family he didn't mean for anyone to get hurt and it was his emotions, and we know from the manga that Toya found it hard controlling his emotions. Toya wanted to be a hero and he didn't want his brother to be in his way. He wanted his family to support him and we can tell that by the way he would always talk to Natsuo about how Endeavour is throwing them (Toya, Natsuo and Fuyumi) away like dirt. Or how he thinks Endeavour thinks they are disappointments. He would also ask if Natsuo still liked him or something like that. Toya wanted approval. If Endeavour always treated Toya like this and neglected Toya for his whole life then it would be less likely, at less in my opinion, that he would have turned into a villain. Why? Because what I said about change. If nothing changed and Toya was always treated like nothing to Endeavour then Toya wouldn't have been so hungry for his dad's approval. There is still a chance that he would have still ended up the way he is now but the chances would have been slimmer.
