Thanks mate. I have been suffering from what I call master procrastination. We all do. But yeah I am dealing with mine now. Thanks for the motivation. Much needed.
Thanks John! Great tip on combining exercise with watching something at the same time, I often watch Azure training videos whilst on the treadmill/bike/stairs!
Excellent advice as always, i truly believe a lot is lost in procrastination. It would be interesting to know your thoughts about being emaining focused when trying to achieve a target or goal
When I’m on my bike I like to watch various discipline etc RUclips videos. Jocko is in quite a few of them but there are so many awesome people sharing thoughts as well.
Nowadays with so many new technologies to study I feel like a living procrastinator. When you learn about a subject we already have several new ones ... And congratulations to your work with Azure!
Nice one John - I've been watching your vids for a few months now since I started my microsoft training and they've been really helpful in that, but your supplementary videos have helped too! I've started getting up an hour earlier and doing a bit of a beginner workout routine, with a view to joining the gym up the road once I've gained a bit of experience and discipline. If you'd told my mum whilst I was a teenager that I'd be up at 7am on a Saturday she'd be asking you for tips.
Yeah but I also have a guilty pleasure when I procrastinate and i'm supposed to work ;) Anyway, you're right, and you are an example of what discipline can help achieve, keep up the good work Azure mate :)
Very kind but I do procrastinate sometimes as well :-) There is a stick holding up a shelf that has needed painting for 2 weeks that will vouch to that fact ;-) I'm learning and practicing as well :-)
Good piece John, but can I ask you about a bit different take on procrastination: What if procrastination tells us something? Maybe the things we procrastinate are things we don't want to do at all and it is OK no to do it, and focus on doing something what we really want to do?
I think as an intelligent being we know the things that NEED to be done. Typically if its does not need to be done and we don't want to do it we just remove it from our mental list straight away. Normally we procrastinate on the things that we know need to be done but has some discomfort. Just my 2 cents. As I say I'm not an expert, I put these out as people ask for what I think and do.
@@NTFAQGuy Thank you - agree on this part. I more thought about the things which don't have to be done (to secure basic living, fulfill obligations etc.), might be done - start the project, write a book, etc. and in such case procrastination is for me a sign, that I'm not really that interested in doing it and maybe for now it is better to put it aside and not be bothered with it. Why? Many might fall into a trap of undermining their own value or confidence because of such things on a heap, which really are not something they want to do. Anyway - good video and topic.
"Stop when you're finished, not when you're tired"
What a nice way to put it :) Thanks for another excellent video!
Hehe thanks

You’ve got it 🤙
Procrastination is a lethal, silent killer. It feels so good, and that's why it's so dangerous.
I liked the part about the procrastinate on the things that your body says you want to do.
Thanks John! Great tip on combining exercise with watching something at the same time, I often watch Azure training videos whilst on the treadmill/bike/stairs!
Procrastination - the enemy of Discipline and Focus. Discipline and Focus can help you work through "severe" bouts of Procrastination.
As always watching your vidoes john i've got so much motivation so ill go learn some on my future az-305 exam :D
