  • A Triad area family is out $800 after they thought they were getting the keys to their new rental home. Now, they have a little more than 24-hours to figure out where they’re going to live.

    $800 for deposit is a red flag for a house.

    I almost fell into that mess. But luckily I have a family that knows about background checks and computers. That prevented the scammer for getting my money

    Seriously?!?!? People still haven't learned that when people request money through wiring, PayPal, cashapp, etc. that its a scam?!?!? It should be a check or nothing and paper work done in person with the landlord and have a lawyer double-check if it sounds fishy. That way there is a paper trail! You do stupid things, you win stupid prizes. #smh
