Regardless of Jaco's tone, I would say that the Ibanez won, mainly because I prefer the sound and feel of flats. (By the way you earned a new subscriber 🙂)
Ibanez has its own charm, first fretless bass in my life. I kinda liked the P bass tone through mix, but it isn’t Jaco sound anymore 😄 thanks for subscribing!
they all sound great because your technique is solid . well done. I love playing other peoples basses, sometimes you find a gem lurking about I'm sure you've played this assignment at a slightly faster tempo. Your tempo is relaxed and like a nice stroll in the park. You're kickin it girl !!
Amazing video... Imagine if you walked into a music store and saw this video playing... You would know just by the tones exactly the bass that fits your style of play..
Precision for me, thanks! Having bought a fret- Squier Sting model myself, it clearly is the best for me. The low end smoothness and sustain- all I need. The best bass I've played- about 300 EUR.
LaBella flatwounds standart tension. I didn’t like the stock strings on it, so I gave a try to LaBellas. Quite expensive, but if that’s a lifelong choice, then worth it.
The P seems the most unlikely, but turns out to be the best suitable bass for this job. The Marcus Miller misses low-end and organic tone, even for the used bridge pick-up setting and the Ibanez misses the natural colour also plus Jaco did play roundwounds and NOT flatwounds. So the P wins on being a Fender (with it's pure organic sound) and having roundwounds. The Mexican Fender jazz fretless should comes closest of course, but I wouldn't be ashamed to play Jaco on this player series P bass. You could play a little closer to the bridge to get more of the desired brightness. In my opinion the sweetspot of almost any P is where the pickguards ends and the body(lacquer) begins, between split pick-up and the bridge.
I agree about the P bass, there is something in that little machine. About Miller bass - I turned down low end on purpose to bring more mids up but it probably turned out too middy :D. Thank you for your review! Actually for Jaco tone the Jazz fretless with rounds will of course suit the most! And no other bass..
Depends from tune. This was made as a solo bass “Chicken”. If playing with a band, then of course. And for professional bass comparision probably yes - would play some simple grooves.
This is what's missing in today's young people... Grab an instrument and just get to playing it instead of wasting life away on video games and social media.
@@cakeeater Good quality instruments cost money, that's true. But as a beginner, you can also learn on a somewhat cheaper instrument first and replace it later with a high-quality one.

Soul and groove comes when it’s needed :) mostly on my live performances. This i recorded for fun because I heard this solo bass arrangement and decided to learn it and then the idea for 3 basses also came! But of course - bass player’s main task is to hold a groove, not play solo lines

Screw the basses. The playing is amazing
Clicked for the tone, stayed for the playing 🔥🔥🔥🔥
No winners. Just 3 great tones played very well. Even though the tones are wildly different they all work perfectly well.
Personally, I like the P bass tone way more then the others. Great video

Ibanez gave it that authentic sound for this particular tune.
No question, the Ibanez killed it in this shootout. Great playing too!
I played this in jazz ensemble on a fretless fender jazz bass, fun song
You would think she would compare fretless to fretless! Good player !
P bass wins no matter what anyone thinks.
Yep.
They all kind of sound like vintage ass

Somewhere between the Jazz and the fretless is the tone you're looking for...I think. Nice playing.
That Ibanez sounds so good! All around nice playing.
Amazing video...

That was awesome!
Now I have to go practice....thanks...
Fretless all the way. Love that growl.
Top job on the tune. I favored the Sire V7 as I've been not the bridge sound lately.
Ibanez has a tone like no other!
Precision for me, thanks! Having bought a fret- Squier Sting model myself, it clearly is the best for me. The low end smoothness and sustain- all I need. The best bass I've played- about 300 EUR.
I prefer the PB and great play
Thank you for the comparison. What beautiful playing. I think all of the basses sound nice and brought something special to the mix. All the best.
WOW!!!!! LOVE THIS🔥🔥🔥 FANTASTIC feel! Really great‼️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
🔥
Got that ibanez I'm liking it MORE!
This was a great comparison, thank you very much for doing it.
The original was most like Jazz bass of course. My favourite tone was the good old Precision - fat and warm.
Ibanez!!!
Well, I still haven't leaned to play that song yet, so I just watch this video and enjoy the ride along...thanks.
You sound excellent God bless you
Nice playing. I own the same Ibanez fretless. What strings do you use on it?
LaBella flatwounds standart tension. I didn’t like the stock strings on it, so I gave a try to LaBellas. Quite expensive, but if that’s a lifelong choice, then worth it.
You make them sing, so be that way!
cool - The Ibanez for me...
Yep, everything here is better, your 3 bases are better than mine, your play is better than mine, ahhh well, keep up that good work!!
Very accurate video thanks 👏
The P wins IMHO 👍 (great playing too✊)
Thanks! :)
hey hey ... very nice groove! would you mind sharing that play along drum beat
I somehow made it at logic pro…can’t get it again

The flavor is in the fingers!
That girl can play the bass!
That's pretty good, but you need to get in the pocket and get some groove going...

I kinda liked the Ibby the best...🤷♂️
🍑 💨🎶
Toss them up in the air and see how they perform after some crash landings.
Too expensive 😁 not sponsored yet by anyone 😏
The P sounds the best to me. The Ibanez sounds like the world's most melodic, virtuosic fart attack.
This is what's missing in today's young people...

I can agree, but i’m afraid the video making process on pc was taking longer than actually playing that instrument to record 😆

Very rare, girl plays fretless
smh..All the correct notes..but absolutely no soul, no groove..🤨
Can we hear your playing on the same tune ? Girl needs encouragements not shitty statement.
