If anyone can have a go at sounding like the one and only Jaco Pastorius, it's our Lee V! Using a fretless Sire Marcus Miller, a Genzler combo and a couple of decades practice, we reckon he did a pretty cracking job...

Hey adam
Hey adam
@@M4tth3wC Hey matthew
Mr. Ragusea, I'm so glad you have good taste in music as well as food!
Can't wait "sound like Marcus Miller" with a Jaco Pastorius Jazzbass.
lol
🤣🤣🤣
Nathan on keys!? What a legend.
Great playing lee.
"Sound like Jaco Pastorious"
... in my DREAMS!
Pastorius*
So the bass guy plays killer bass, keys and guitar!
He is quit good with a kazoo to.
Kenny Gardner Pretty much sums up 90% of musicians in the black church. We grow up playing every instrument in church. I bet this guy has a gospel background.
Taylor he’s the guitarist for Level 42
@@ImaginaryEvil Yep. Has been since the early 2000s. He's also Mark (King)'s brother
Lee needs his own channel someday. The more I watch him, the more I appreciate how amazing and melodic a bass player he is
i agree
More of this PLEASE
First thing I thought of when I saw the title was to get a Fretless haha. Jaco is definitely one of the most iconic and important bassists to have ever graced the Earth. Some might call him the Hendrix of Bass. Awesome work!
Entwistle was the Hendrix of Bass, Pastorius was the Van Halen of Bass.
@@SRone45 I'd actually argue it's the other way around. Entwistle incorporated tapping into his playing, fun fact, and I think Jaco has more of an iconic and influential status similar to that of Hendrix. Don't get me wrong, Entwistle is legendary in every right.
This video made its way to my top five list in one viewing. Lee, that's some legendary playing. Just Epic.
That was a real pleasure to watch. Thanks, folks!
Nobody can sound like Jaco, you just can play fretless. Great video, love the trio.
This may be the best bass related video ever posted on RUclips. Us bass players are lucky to have these Andertons vids. Big thanks to Lee and Nathan!
Finally a sounds like video for bass! Please carry on with this 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
One of the best videos of Andertons TV yet. The skill set of you guys are truly amazing. A joy to watch!
Fretless Jazz bass, bridge pickup favored, Rotosound Roundwounds, 12 hours of practice a day.
Sounds like a perfect day
He’s using flats here and it definitely throws it off
Yep that’s right
Roundwounds suck on the fretless, those are obviously flats here
@@obmal_pytan but Jaco used roundwounds. I think it’s better to damage the fretboard less using flats
Awesome! Can't wait to watch this, I love the bass guys just as much as the rest of the Andertons crew and I think bass sounds like is long overdue. Maybe try Geezer Butler or John Entwhistle?
Oh man having the keys and the drums there is amazing. So much effort put into this
Geezer
Andrew Kescenovitz they should do jack Bruce that man had a killer tone and was a pretty good player
Loved it, lads. I would definitely love seeing more of this kind of thing. Great work as usual!
Loved watching Jaco with Weather Report at the Playboy Jazz Festival. Priceless memory.
Great playing from such nice people. The Andertons guys are all super talented. Best bass video yet. More please.
I am stunned. Capturing the essence of Jaco, whether solo, or in Weather report with a 3 pc band is quite an accompishment. Well done lads. Very entertaining.
I’ve really liked this video. I’ve been a massive fan of Jaco for a long while and this didn’t dumb down his work and really showed of your talents as players.
Might just be the best Anderton's video ever! This, coming from a drummer.
Nathan is ridiculously talented.
Great Video, Guys! Your appreciation and enthusiasm for a true bass legend turned into a special tribute.
Nathan and Lee you are 2 fantastic musicians. Thank you so much for all those great videos.
one sounds like Jaco if you are Jaco.
edit: ok this sounds goooooodddd
Epic playing, nice one guys. The light that burns twice as bright, burns half as long, and you have burned so very, very brightly Roy.
That was a blast! More of this series!
Also a "full" band setup/sound sample is a really good idea after all this is the situation where a bass guitar shines.
All hail Lee and his skills!
Definitely one of if not THE best videos I've seen on Anderson's TV. You guys absolutely nailed it. Is there anything Nathan can't do? And Lee - super impressive
Not forgetting some very cool drums.
This format really works.
More please.
Great seeing you guys geeking out like that! Great playing!
That opening groove was amazing
I love seeing lee geek out. It’s like I’m watching a kid on Christmas.
A different sort of Sound Like! Nothing about instruments, just wonderful, joyous music and fun from great players. Lee, a top tribute to Jaco - you ARE worthy!
One the most enjoyable Sounds Like and I’m a guitar player! Great to be reminded of Pastorius’s genius. Great stuff guys esp the 3 piece parts which were very cool. 🤘🏻🎸👍🤘🏻🎸👍🤘🏻🎸👍
I'm a metal guitarrist but I love Jaco. Awsome rendition of his sound.
Absolutely stunning playing from both Lee and Nathan!
Eargasms galore!!! Easy to get tone, but Jacos feel? Nailed it!!! Great job!!! One of the best Andertons videos!!!
Brilliant opening song, so cool and what a great grooooooooooove! Enjoyed it? Loved it!
Awesome video, you guys did an amazing job! 👍 Mr Pastorius was a genius and one of my favorite musicians of all time! 😍

Jaco with Joni - my fave.

Sounded awesome!!
WOW! Loved it!
Great video guys!!
enjoyment written on their faces!!! What's not to enjoy when you can play like that. Thanks so much!!!
Great Job Lee, and those Sire basses are just awesome. I have a fretted jazz myself, a lot of bang for the buck on those.
Nice work!!
Lee - you smashed it!!!!!! I've always left Jaco alone because his stuff is off the chart, but you've brought it into my reality and now I'm all over it - really excellent job my man! 👍👍👍👏👏👏
Nathan is brilliant . One of the finest musicians out there. cheers mate.
Blooming awesome guys !!!
Amazing playing
I'm still freaking out with Nathan playing keys!! This man is pure talent, and he does it frankly awesome!
Amazing.........you are great guys...!!!!!
Great job! Birdland at 11:30 - wow!!!!
Awesome playing, gents. Very few people can 'just' do a few Weather Report numbers...
Nice work, guys! Loved teentown...
That was incredible
Excellent playing.
this is fan freaking tastic. well done, gents. well done.
Sounds amazing
Awesome! Please do more sounds like for basses.
thank you for a great job , I think a good way to appreciate jaco is not just the 16ths and the groove but also things like "a remark you made" where you get his feel for a melody/harmony having said that" port of entry" BURNS!!
Nice work gentlemen.
That's some mighty fine playing there...
"Come on, Come Over". One of the best basslines I have heard. It is also really fun to play.
Great video. Tanks!
Lee is one hell of a bassman.
That was GREAT!
I loved all of his handy work on the Weather Report album Heavy Weather and their other albums.
Cheers y'all, smashing stuff. :)
Great intro!!!!!! Endless likes!
those sire x marcus miller basses are phenomenal
Beautiful and fun!
Amazing talent and decent people
Perfect combination
GREAT !!! Way to kick it Off !!!
Nice job guys! Not the video I was expecting, but nice tribute. What doesn't Nathan play? Nice to have a live drummer. Going to have to re-watch to find the harmonics for Portrait of Tracy. Much respect to Lee for taking on those songs. Glad you remembered Sam and Dave.
First came across Jaco when he played on Ian Hunter’s all American alien boy in 1976.
Great album, different from his normal stuff, with some great players on it , fan of Jaco ever since.
This might be the greatest vid on the whole channel
