I thought maybe her whole band were dressed in matching white at the show he was referring to, she made a sarcastic joke and he totally didn't pick up that she was kidding. Then he keeps going and she's like "hold the phone" and looked like she wanted to clarify the joke and y'know, not seem racist. I think that's why she bought up the Colonel/white supremacy thing to segue that she regards racism as an abnormality.
So, I understand the criticism here a little bit....but I completely love this interview. I'd much rather hear Annie Clark shooting the shit with some bro about Woody Allen than watch her sit through a standard steno pad interview (plus there's like a million of those already anyways)

I rewatched that segment like 10 fucking times), but I think it's impossible to put into context because I think they did edit out a little bit of the interview, and whatever caused her brief upset reaction at 4:47 is impossible to determine. Which, you know, is like... super aggravating because I'd like to know myself. Like, why even leave a small trace left of the fluke in the first place? Ugh.

She performed wonderfully, but the audience was a half-crowd of wealthy middle aged people who were trying to avoid all the commotion at the AC show.
That's the way i view her, dudle, views can differ. I see her as very posed and calculating, look in the eyes included, calculated "agressivity" too. In any case who gives a crap about agressivity, it's not like it's something lacking in this world for the last 5000 years LoL. I like her creativity though--the fact that she sits and writes lines of voice and instruments (not everyone bothers). Haha "empty your ass": you must be full of shit happy to trigger your cleansing.
