Awesome video. Definitely a different point of view. Must have been a awesome ride. What line was the observation car from. What was the accommodations like? Thanks for posting it. Have a great day everyone.
Did anyone notice the guy with the blue shirt and white hat 14:47 come out of the bush and, maybe, cross the track. He better take a good look before he attempts it with a train coming.
Oh I am so jealous I have been wanting to ride The Empire Builder so I could see Seattle and see if Seattle have any low income apartments so I could find a job. I just feel like I over stayed my welcome in Chicago even though it's my own fault I just want a new life in another city where they have no clue of my past and I could start a new. I am ashamed ashamed of my past and I know that I brought it on myself not being able to get a job or anything nobody give me a second chance to redeem myself so I think if I went to Seattle and start new start fresh I might have a chance of getting a job even more of a chance in Seattle than in Chicago where they know me and have a easy way to find out my past as a teen so that's one reason I want to go to Seattle to start a new life the other reason is because I love riding the train it's my favorite past time in the whole world besides video games of course and anime but the past time I have had my whole life is trains I have ridden all the Chicago Transit Authority trains and I have ridden all but one Metra routes and I have ridden The South Shore Line from Downtown Chicago to South Bend and I have been on Amtrak to Milwaukee and I have been on The Illinois Service and I have been on Southwest Chef from Princeton Illinois to Chicago Illinois and my first Amtrak ride was with my mom when we moved from Cincinnati Ohio on the Cardinal to Chicago Illinois and I was about 5 or 6 years old so I just love Amtrak trains and any public trains they're so fun.
railjames wow! That's also my favorite because it has a lot of history on the ride being The South Shore Line is the last Interurban in the world I think which is really sad. Where I live The North Shore Line would split into two branches the Skokie Valley Route and The Shore Line Route. Now I wish it was still running nowadays because I go to Milwaukee to the Irish Fest in August and if The North Shore Line was still running it would probably be a little bit cheaper than an Amtrak ticket. And the station might be closer to the lakefront where the festival at.
Very nice video! The Lamberts Point is a great car and the open air platform is an exhilarating ride.
Great video! Annotations just before event or location are excellent!
Beautiful ride and the perfect day.

No in cab?.....oooh
What is the top speed this train gets up to? It looks like it's at least 70 MPH?
The fastest stretch's on this route are 79mph
Do the engineers change at Milwaukee or Winona I have heard conflicting accounts?
Andrew, I know for sure Milwaukee, other than that, I am not sure.
First engineer change on # 7 right?
Its really hard to see the RED SIGNALS.

Brian, you have ridden a bunch of trains that I have. My favorite that you have ridden is the South Shore Line to South Bend, always interesting!
