    yay :)
    Can I ask you a question, how do you tell them apart? I've got 11 that used to visit my neighbour coming to me cause of her dying. There's clear behaviour differences between them, but on appearances, I can't see ANY difference at all! Is there physical differences you use to tell them apart or is it behaviour based?
    I've got one with a sore foot & limp too, but opposite foot to yours, so obviously not the same bird, plus mine's not recovered yet. Until I see it limping though, I have no idea which bird's the injured one

    • @CockatooMadness
      @CockatooMadness  Год назад +2

      😊 😊 Yes there are subtle differences in looks, shape and colour of the eyes also the baggyness around them. There's also the size and shape of the beak, the overall tidyness and cleanliness of their feathers and the actual total size of the bird. It takes a while to pick up on the differences and I still make some mistakes but it's also fairly easy to ID them by their unique behaviours, noises, mannerisms and confidence levels. Hope that helps😊

    • @mehere8038
      @mehere8038 Год назад

      @@CockatooMadness "baggyness"... you mean FAT right lol. I have noticed at least one of mine seems to be carrying some weight in his/her thighs & yeh, there does seem to be a size difference in many of them, but it's really subtle, so not really something I can tell the difference in unless looking at 2 side by side, then when they move, I have no idea again! Ok, so I guess that's one thing to train myself on if I want to be able to tell them apart :)
      Beaks & eyes I've been trying to look at, I thought that might have been where a difference was. I was looking more for markings or something though, not size & shape & colour in eyes, so will focus on that & see if it helps me :)
      Cleanliness I've given up on! I thought I was going to be able to tell from the red & brown marks all over them, but those seemed to change day to day & during the storm this afternoon, I think I saw why, not 100% sure, but they were all hanging upsidedown in the tree leaves, I think having a bath/getting the rain under their wings for a good wash, was pretty funny to watch really! Anyway, I'd been feeding them before the storm, then as soon as it was over, they came back to finish it off & there was new red markings over the heads of many of them, so must be something in the gumnuts or something in the leaves of the trees near my place that gives them those markings I think.
      Good to know it's the stuff I'd started to notice that you use too & find easiest, guess I'm on the right track with that. I rent & have a long time troublemaker neighbour complaining about them though, so I'm having to limit the amount of food I give them to avoid major issues there, which also makes it harder to pick up on that stuff, cause time of day different ones come in & behaviours when there's only a couple in early & late are by far the easiest things to pick, but I'm ending up just doing one total feed now to reduce the time in & neighbour complaint potential, which therefore makes it harder to see personality. My traditional early arriver stayed until late today, he/she likes to come over to my windowsill & I've got a basket there for hose parts, that has now become a cocky toy basket according to this one lol sits on it & throws everything out of it for fun, so easy to pick that one when it's doing that lol
      Anyway, yes, VERY helpful, thank you very much! Lets me know MUCH better what I should be looking for, rather than wasting my time on the wrong stuff & getting frustrated.
      Out of interest, with all that in mind, was "Spider bird" the first one you learnt to identify?
