I honestly just NOW realize why the fashionfabric part got stretched!
It's proooobably because I put it through the serger BEFORE attaching the fusible lining, so if you wanna serge your edges, attach the lining first - YOU'RE GONNA THANK ME! 🍾

I love how happy you are when finished! It is truly beautiful! I have yet to be brave enough to make stays or a corset, though I have a kit, several patterns, and plenty of fabric. I need courage, like the Cowardly Lion of the Wizard of Oz!!!

      Thank you!
      I say go for it!
Do a mock up first if you are unsure about the sizing but I was kicking myself that I took such a long break with finishing it because I was indimidated so please learn from me and just jump on in!
Worst thing that can happen is you learn something from it! ❤️
Good luck and have the most fun 😍

I love the fabric and it does look so very pretty! I have had sewing projects that don't go smoothly and it makes it even more awesome when they're completed and looks as nice as your stays do! Congratulations on your first stays!

Thank you so much Lara! 💛
I truly appreciate having someone who knows how much of a mind-bender it can be when it's not going so well haha
May your next projects turn out wonderful! 😍

These turned out disgustingly pretty!! 😤 You should be proud of yourself (and yes getting compliments on the things you’ve made is just the best)!
P.S. Would love to hear more Icelandic phrases in your videos if you don’t mind, since it sort of blows my mind that you literally speak a language that’s not far off from what Vikings spoke 🤓 So cool!

Thank you so much!! 😍 And yes! It's the BEST!
The Icelandic thing is actually a fair point, I can try to incorporate some phrases and words but I'd also love to know what you want to know and hear as that's basically what I speak on the daily and maybe don't register what is more interesting than something else haha

@@birtarnb I think a really cool idea would be to introduce your audience to various Icelandic words or sayings that don’t have an exact English translation?
For example: the Welsh word “hiraeth” describes “a longing wistfulness for a home of the past,” the Japanese word “umami” describes a fifth, savory flavor, and the Danish word “hygge” describes a mood of coziness. All of these can be defined with a series of English words, but there is no one word in English that defines it.
      I hope that makes sense!

Thats a great idea! I tried to do a little bit of that in the Traditional Icelandic costume videos I made!
I talked a little bit about couple of the words.
Let me know if that's the kinda thing you mean 😊

Even a mock up on your pattern and on your fabric those wrinkles could add to your size or take away press press press

I am sorry for being daft but what do you mean? 😊

@@birtarnb Sorry stupid iPad. Always iron your pattern. And always iron and starch your fabric that will be cutting your mock up out .
And press also the fabric that you will make your garment out of.
You will get such a better fit.

@@birtarnb I think she means that you need to iron your fabric, as the wrinkles will make the pieces slightly larger, making the fit less exact.
