I added mini chocolate chips to the butter pecan recipe. Not many. Just a quarter cup. OMG they disappeared! And even better, add 3 ripe bananas as well to the chips. A-mazing.
I use the Butter Pecan cake mix for my 4 ingredient Caramel Bars. Cake mix, stick of melted butter, 1 egg. Mix all these ingredients, put half the batter in the bottom of a 9x13 pan. Bake on 350° for 10 minutes. Bring out the cooked batter 1 jar of caramel ice cream topping that has been heated in microwave for 15 -20 seconds. Pour caramel over cooked batter. Then finally, take remaining batter and take small pieces and drop on to caramel. Then, bake on 350° for 20 minutes. Enjoy.
I add walnuts and raisins to my spice cookies. yum. Been making them for years but it is difficult to find te spice cake anymore. Hope my Walmart has it in now.

My late mother in-law taught me how to make cookies from cake mix, but she used white or yellow cake mix (your choice), and from there you can make lots of different kinds of cookies: sugar cookies, chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, white chocolate chip w/macadamia nuts, you get the idea. :-) Even peanut butter or oatmeal raisin!
