Great win for Paula! Nice to see her stringing wins together, and that's 13 wins in her last 17 across her past 5 tournaments which is kind of what she was doing in 2021 and early 2022 when she was at the top of her game, although with her back and other injuries, it's always a case of 1 match at a time. Decent chance of making a first final since Jan 2022 if she can recover sufficiently as she'll almost certainly be the first match tomorrow.
Decent tournament for Emma as well, and it's also a 4th tournament in a row for her where she has strung at least back to back wins together. These are my fave 2 players (Paula #1), so it's good to see them both heading in the right direction, and hopefully both can stay fit throughout the USO swing and beyond.

Had I been sitting next to Emma,s coach his ribs would have been black & blue from me consistently poking him saying, for Gods sake man tell Emma to stop setting up forehand winners for Badosa and see if she can tighten up her serve LOL. Although I support Emma every step of the way I had her down to loose this one for exactly the reasons she lost it which, on a positive note, maybe means that you can learn a lot about any given player by following all their matches and wins and loses. I find both players exciting too watch but also excruciating to see Emma had Badosa twice where she would have wanted her, but let her out of the bag, and with it a Victory that was within her grasp and first Semi-Final since 2021. After Match point Emma was off that court real quick and she must be disappointed that she wasn't ruthless enough or let her focus or level slip in a few clutch moments BUT that said it was a long match in 36°c and humid and was 50/50 as to who was going to win for most of the 3 sets, when I saw Emma lead 2-0 in the 3rd set I thought she would hold onto that and see it out but no. Emma has limitations against physically stronger players - not much she can do until she gets stronger herself ( it takes time). Badosa's backhanders were just as good actually - it was the high balls she struggled ( but Emma decided not to exploit that continuously - Badosa's back issues?).

Although I didn't see the full match but having read the press reports,Emma blew her chance to get to the SF simply because her inconsistent serves let her down in the end because she was leading 3-1 in the final set and dominated Badosa in the first set and for part of the second set as well! Once her serves improve and reach the level of consistency as Alcaraz's then she should be winning matches like these on a regular basis because this match shouldn't have gone to a third set in the first place as Emma was well on her way to victory in the second set and was on the verge of going 4-2 up having broken Badosa in the first game of the second set as well as the first game in the first set and also winning the first set in only 49 mins but she double-faulted to allow Badosa the break back to level at 3-3 and ultimately the second set. Hopefully her serve consistency will have improved by the time the big one in September comes along and surely reaching the SF in NY will have more than made up for missing out the SF in Washington!

But be in no doubt, her serves will come good in the end and she'll be a top 10 player as a result. Hasn't won 3 matches in a row in more than 40 matches? You been living under a rock? She did just that in Wimbledon a few weeks ago by taking out the 9th seed and world no.8 Sakkari in R3 in straight sets along the way for good measure!😅

Both of them fought very hard in order to gain the gorgeous points. Most of the rallies were utterly physical. That's why I believed that they were going to be pushed within this step. When these two tennis competitors recuperated her injuries, both Badosa and Raducanu have begun to compete more perseverant, relentless and steadfast than the major competitors. It proves the real quality, superiority and dominance of the tennis. It is worth seeing the upcoming scale of this sport. I would like to congratulate Paula Badosa, well-deserved triumph in the end, appreciating the outstanding effort of Raducanu. Thank you so much for making us watch such a gruelling showdown.

Also she's very close now to being a seeded player which means that she'll no longer have to face a seeded big name player in the early rounds.

Both played really well. Although Emma lost, she's producing some of her best tennis since '21. She's still physically struggling during longer matches I think, so needs to carry on improving that side of her game. She'll get there though.

more than 40 tournaments played since and Radufans still going on about that 1 tournament 3 years ago when the same player has never won more than 3 matches at any of the 40 plus tournaments played since. as they say - "form is temporary, class is permanent"!

Djokovic "came back from from injury" and made a slam final and an Olympics final less than 2 months from the date of the actual surgery!

@@huzcer Sorry but you're just coming from a place where everything is relentlessly negative. It's just tiresome to listen to. I have a very broad and positive interest in women's tennis and I'm prepared to show some understanding and balance towards all the various players. I want exciting players like Raducanu to physically get to the point where they can show their best, which she hasn't been able to do over the last couple of years.

@@MrPicklerwoof the results speak for themselves. Raducanu is the ultimate example of "form is temporary (1 fortunate run in a Covid disruption era tournament) and class in permanent (3 years since of dire results)". For all your supposed "broad interest" in tennis you must be a really poor judge of the blatantly obvious game in front of you -> no weapons of any note and primarily relying on opponent errors to win games.
