@@brightestlight9462 Yeah, we're talking about the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Normally people compare 40k with other sci-fi franchises, primarily with Star Wars, Halo, Star Trek, etc. Hardly anybody compares 40k with comic books. But let's take a look at this. Iron Man is a mortal in a suit of powered armor. He relies on his gadgets, intelligence, and problem-solving abilities to get by. Well, each Space Marine is a posthuman monstrosity in a suit of powered armor made out of the same material as their main battle tanks. Remember that Space Marines aren't exactly stupid and probably match or exceeds Tony Stark's intelligence. Grey Knight Terminators, Psychic Nulls, or a Culexus Assassin, on the other hand, would destroy Shazam with no problems at all. Samus: another mortal in a fancy suit of powered armor. Space Marines aren't the lame space pirates that she's fought before. She will die before a Space Marine Terminator or Devastator squad. Kratos is a demigod. So yeah, he'll mop the floor of normal Space Marines. But Space Marine Primarchs are demigods themselves. I doubt Kratos would fare well against Horus Lupercal or Vulkan or Lion'el Jonson or Leman Russ, etc. Goku is an alien, and the Saiyans are pretty bad-ass though reading their racial description makes them sound like Space Marines. I'd like to see Goku go up against Primarch. That would be one hell of a fight to witness. Having said all of this, it should be noted that Space Marines aren't even the strongest unit in the whole 40k universe.
@@Suprasylph Dude, pretty much any major super hero from DC and Marvel would mop the floor with countless space marines, including chapter masters and primarchs. You're comparing science fiction against comic book science. Superman once accidentally destroyed a star system by sneezing FFS. And Goku agaisnt a primarch? Are you for real? While primarchs are very strong, they can be killed with normal weapon. Tank shell, missiles and so on woud kill one. Goku can literally blow up a planet and he can withstand blows from enemies who can do the same.
It always bugged me that spacemarine ribs are fused together since breathing is mainly acomplished by expanding the ribcage. It's especially bugging because that issue would have been easily avoidable by turning the ribs into overlapping plates instead of fusing them.
This has actually sorta been addressed in the Fabius Bile novels In that book, Fabius is dissecting a loyalist and the ribs are less one solid plate, and more akin to overlapping bones that don't expose any internal organs, but that still allow for the expansion of lungs. I subscribe to the depiction in those books and not everything else. one solid plate of bone for a ribcage is stupid even by 40k standards.
That second heart thing makes me wondering. Imagine a situation where one of them got captured by Aztec-like civilization, having their heart ripped out in a sacrifice, then goes saying "Are you done?" and casually walks away.
I've now come to realize that the WH space marines were the original og space marines. Before the Master Chief, before Doom Guy, there were the Adeptus Astartes. I don't know why it took me this long to get into WH40k.
You've gone from a channel I enjoy, with all the SCP stuff, to a channel I love with the addition of 40k, now. All these young bucks just finding out. If only they knew how deep the rabbit hole goes...

But this new series is way, *way* better than I expected, like holy shit I think this might be even more interesing than the scp videos. I'm looking forward to every new video now!
I honestly thought the 40k aesthetic was kinda lame from just seeing some pics of the space marines, but boy how I could be more wrong. love the Victorian aspect of the cities and the undying worship of the God Emperor. The multitude of classes is amazing, and the sheer amount of lore is astounding. I certainly see how people can get so deep into this.

The Dante novel is really interesting in the way that it depicts space marines as a culture. The higher ranking space marines including the chapter master, often have the luxury of wearing gowns and regular dress apparel. It's not something you give much thought to, but Dante's armour requires constant cleaning, maintenance, decontamination, and rites performed. It's probably not too far to assume that regular space marines would also go varying periods of downtime without their armour too. When you imagine space marine gatherings, you imagine them all armoured and ready for war. But realistically, it's likely a room full of superhumans in gowns and robes. The depiction of blood thralls and chapter serfs was also interesting, because you never think about the little guys. The guys who dress their superhuman brothers, or the guys who tend to the agricultural jobs to feed them. Even just something as menial as restoring lost artwork, or watering flowers (the blood angels are renowned artists). These are brothers who have passed the trials and have all of the graces and virtues befitting a son of sanguinius, but who's bodies are not suited for the complicated and demanding transition to full Astartes. They are regular humans essentially, living no longer than an average person. A single space marine would likely see many of these serfs die in their lifetime, but do not look down at them in contempt. These are brothers who; if their bodies were more compatible; would be stood right next to them in battle. The blood angels enshrine a unique moral and ethical duty to all the souls in their domain. Naturally, space marines are at the top of the hierarchy. These warriors deliver the justice and fury of Sanguinius to the enemies of the imperium. Serfs are slightly lower but no less vital to the function of the chapter. They are charged with projects as big as construction and fortification, all the way down to something as small as watering the monastery's many green gardens. Even those who die during the Trials are awarded an honourable death for their sacrifice. They even go so far as to include those who don't attend the recruitment process. Before every recruitment event, every initiate is warned of the dangers and that they should turn back for it is not for the feint of heart. For such grim spectres of death, the chaplains signal the many virtues of being brave enough to turn back. Not to walk away in shame with their head hanging low, but to breed the next generation of Baalites so their sons and grandsons may become angels. The blood angels have to be the single most noble and virtuous chapter out there.
spray on a primer, do your basecoats in two thin layers, add highlights, details and maybe a wash. if you're using waterslides soak them in war water for a minute and use mark setter and softer for an optimal application. finish all with a topcoat and maybe some gloss varnish on metallic parts. this should be everything.
I hope you can do about the Primarchs, Grey Knights, Deathwatch, Roboute Guiliman and other conflicts, figures and Astra Militarum units. Good work on this.
I have to say... your voice and the way you structure your explanation, made for a very pleasant video to listen to while working out/running on a treadmill... keep up the good work man
There is a lot more space inside the ribcage of a space marine as well as the third lung being superior in all functions. They basically have space downward and don´t need the flex of normal ribs anymore. They are about 2.50. on avarage for some reasons.
Ryan Ratchford Their rib cage is directly stated in lore to be made of _“interlocking plates.”_ Meaning, it would be able to expand. So, nope. Not an issue.

Just needs a lot of willpower. Pain realy only is there to prevent damage to your body. While you might be mentaly scared after such a surgery, physicall youll be just as fine as if you were asleep. And the surgery will work just as fine. The real danger os reflexes and crampings and movements cause by the pain. That can interfear with the surgery and healing process. But its good training. Considering theyll get their body beaten to bits by bolters, deamoms, aliens and tyranids anyway but still survive. And the menral trauma? Who cares. They are a weapon. And as lomg as they fight theyll be enough. Not to mention. The trauma theiy face on the battlefield will be far worse anyway....

Enhanced organs and detox body - quickly circulation their blood which renders them unconscious. 15. Enhance taste and smell. Can track a target by taste alone. 16. Sweat shield - sweat an oil that hardens around the skin creating a shell that protects against certain chemicals. Can protect them from the vacuum of space and other extra harsh environments. 17. Xenomorph spit - lets them chew through iron bars, consume anything, and blinds enemies. 18. Reproduce the gene-seed to create more implants. 19. Gyroscopic stabilizers b. Temperature regulators c. Bio monitor - auto advanced medkit Weapons 1. Bolter: Assault weapon that fires explosive rounds. a. So much kick that it can't be used by anyone else. (Like a mini cannon) i. Heavy Bolter ii. Bolter Pistols (Anyone can use) 2. Chain sword a. Cuts flesh and bone and metal
The dreadnought is not somekind of powerarmor. Its more akin to a cyborg body, a symbiosis of a living part and a machine where no part would function on its own. Without a powerarmor a spacemarine still can kick ass while the "brainpart" of a dreadnought would lay dying on the ground and the dreadnought would rust.

Up until talking about weapons, perfectly executed video. My only issues are 1.) When talking about bolters, show which variant you're taking about. Standard, heavy, storm, there are a few different types. 2.) Plasma weapons were never addressed, yet necessary for dealing with armor. 3.) Flamers. I do own that I'm partial to the salamanders, and it was brought up that the weapons talked about are general, but not just the salamanders used them. 9/10 for content overall, just a few little things were left out. *edit: spelling of a word*

As far as I know, approximately 10,000 Military campaigns are going on in the Imperium at any one time. Honestly, the Larraman's Organ if it could magically be reproduced in real life with the wave of a wand, I wouldn't want that sucker in me. Platelets clotting almost immediately and forming scar tissue in seconds? Sounds like a fantastic way to have a stroke or heart attack about 11.4 seconds after being implanted haha.
*Do you think you can make a video for the Grey Knights Chapter?* They are basically: _A Space marine + Force powers of a Jedi + vast knowledge and tools for Exorcism + hatred for Demons of Doomguy/DoomSlayer + incorruptibility of a Saint._
I'm just starting to get into warhammer lore, and this brought up a question: At what point is a space marine so modified that it doesn't count as a human anymore? Because all of it's modifications make it seem like they go from "human" to something "not-human"
In many ways they aren't human any more. They give up their humanity for the greater cause. They become Adeptus Astartes and are referred to as Trans-Human.
Of course. There is less than one Space Marine for each planet in the Imperium. Also many of mankind's enemies field warriors just as powerful if not more so. Imagine being a guardsman fighting horrors like that without all those enhancements.
Not all space marines start off as scouts. For example the space wolves start off as "blood claws". The youngest wolves. The scouts are normally some of the older wolves who have honed their abilities working up from blood claws, gray wolves and sometimes, long fangs. However, these are the only ones I'm aware of that work like this.

It's especially bugging because that issue would have been easily avoidable by turning the ribs into overlapping plates instead of fusing them.
i mean you could still technically breath since you still have your diaphragm but it would definitely not be as easy.
This has actually sorta been addressed in the Fabius Bile novels
In that book, Fabius is dissecting a loyalist and the ribs are less one solid plate, and more akin to overlapping bones that don't expose any internal organs, but that still allow for the expansion of lungs.
I subscribe to the depiction in those books and not everything else. one solid plate of bone for a ribcage is stupid even by 40k standards.
Styrax It’s directly stated in lore that their rib cage is made of _“interlocking plates.”_
They can expand for breathing. Not an issue.
They are made of interlocking plates.
Came here to post this. Glad someone else thought a single plate is silly.

"Oh, well he *only* broke half his ribs and his right arm is cut off, I guess he's ready"

If you’re rib cage we’re made into a single solid sheet of bone you wouldn’t be able to breath.
RIP all Space Marines.
This implies that they need the rib to flex for their lungs to expand. Space Marine lungs don’t need no shit like flexible ribs.
I thought the same thing. Maybe the lungs just violent twitch until oxygen is circulated.
There is a lot more space inside the ribcage of a space marine as well as the third lung being superior in all functions. They basically have space downward and don´t need the flex of normal ribs anymore. They are about 2.50. on avarage for some reasons.
Ryan Ratchford Their rib cage is directly stated in lore to be made of _“interlocking plates.”_

The real danger os reflexes and crampings and movements cause by the pain. That can interfear with the surgery and healing process.

2. Chain sword
a. Cuts flesh and bone and metal
Just imagine Captain America wearing the Iron Man suit and using Thor's weapons. Some of them also have Scarlet Witch's magic and the Hulks attitude.
A space marine inside of the dreadnaught can’t survive on his own outside of it.

Up until talking about weapons, perfectly executed video. My only issues are
1.) When talking about bolters, show which variant you're taking about.
