@@sara.s.7032 lol it's funny because the comment right above this one is someone saying Lorde did tell the fans to be quiet during that particular song before she started singing
I almost never want to go to a live performance or listen to a song recorded at a live event because people get so excited and forget the performance is the most important part.
I saw this on twitter the other day and the comments are horrifying. They're saying "she shushed them but ends up singing like that" or "I'd be embarrassed if I sound like that" and many more. Now seeing comments in RUclips under this video, it honestly change dmy mind, cuz it's HER concert and she's there to perform. You go to a concert just to hear a singers voice and performance, rather than thousands of fans drowning her voice. I truly appreciate people understanding what she's tryna do. If you read it this far, hope y'all are having a good day and stay hydrated, take care
Sometimes those people forget tht they're not singers. It only appears rude to those who sang along, but trust me some of them glad tht she shushed them. There were people who came to just listen to her singing live while having a great time. Seriously there are songs we sing together and songs we just listen to. Thats why I love japanese concerts. There are moments when audience go crazy but there are times when everyone is so quite to give the artist the moment to express the song and emotions.
I was a huge Lorde fan. I bought tickets to lollapalooza just to see her she never went on because it rained 😢 I was literally front row cried so much that day haven’t listen to her since 😂
Because sometimes silence is better, the song she's singing is an emotional song so of course she wants to show those emotions and the audience is ruining that emotional ambiance, it's just ruining the experience
She's shushed the audience so ahe could sing better, got misunderstood to be rude and talked about it at her next show where people were more respectful. That's a decent explanation...
This makes sense because there didn't seem to be a loud instrumental in the background, the crowd singing was getting louder and she wasn't encouraging them to get louder so her shushing them makes sense. I personally wanna enjoy music without people singing constantly in the background anyways
There's a video of Chester Bennington of Linkin Park singing with a completely off-key fan...he continues to sing cause he knows his marks... this lady, whoever she is, doesn't look like she practiced well.....
Chester is so good at mingling with the crowd. Lorde is pretty good (I have heard her album Pure Heroine and it's amazing) but she was slightly in the wrong here. I think Taylor is also a good example of singer who understands how the crowd must felt
As someone who has been singing in choirs for years, with many many people and different audiences, let me say this… it is extremely frustrating and extremely difficult to try to sing when there are people who are singing waaaaaaay off.
I love Lorde for this. Fans are different now a lot of them think they have to sing EVERY word of EVERY song and lots are filming it too. It takes away from the energy of the performance. Take yourself out it for a second and just enjoy it.
It's really being thoughtful about other people who are silent and wanted to listen with ONLY Lorde's voice. I'm glad that people can be open to be taught basic courtesy during these events. I'm a large fan of listening to music artists in person/IRL, so hearing more of their voice and hearing less of others is really, really splendid. Of course sometimes I want to sing along, but I always check the mood of the room first before initiating.
You are supposed to sing along during live performances…. Listening to only Lorde’s voice is going on Spotify in your own time. Many other people also spent money to be there and to expect thousands of people to be quiet is not realistic.
@@ImSarahTarot I hope you read the whole comment. As I've said, "Of course sometimes I want to sing along, but I always check the mood of the room first before initiating." I love to sing along with my fave singing artists and have already done it multiple times. That said, it is common courtesy to be silent during times when it is needed.
@@emmanuelaadebayo8591 you rather hear a pause during the song for her to say "give me a moment, please, be quiet, thank you." It's really just also etiquette to enjoy and not ruin it for others though. It looked like a small place, so like, better to give the spotlight to the person you paid to see
@@Kiraikira_ yeah that is wild. So two or three people can interrupt the artist and everyone else’s enjoyment of a song because they are screaming during an emotional part of a song? No thank you. Security haha
It only looks pretentious bc the video looks bad. She has every right as the artist the quiet the crowd but it looks rude out of context. Artists quiet the crowd a lot and then tell them when the jump, dance, or sing (thats when they hold the mic to the crowd). As a lorde fan, youre more inclined to want to listen anyway
She’s lucky she still has any fans willing to pay for a show ten years after her one-hit album in 2012/2013. If she doesn’t want people singing along to her song perhaps she should record an acoustic or unplugged set without a live audience.

Her shushing her fans was from 2017😭😭 live streaming a concert wasnt that normal back then
whenever i see lorde, i think of that one south park episode where stan's dad is secretly lorde
I AM LAWD..LAWD LAWD LAWD
that was a weak ass point she made for that
Lol for real. There wasn’t a reason given. I know these ppl didn’t pay a whole week’s salary to go and be shushed so pretentiously. Like at least give the disclaimer before the song so they expect it. It’s rude and obviously a bunch of her own fans thought so too. So no lorde, you aren’t surrounded by understanding 🙄
She has an entire hour and a half show for you to scream songs too
who cares lmao in japan they dont scream at all
@@namjoonie936 i don't care and I didnt ask
@@ownedbysaiko235 lmao k weirdo
"Lorde when y'all didn't shush" ☠☠😭😭😭😭
What she said is just awesome, I don't know her nor listen to her but it's relatable, like you wouldn't talk about something completely out of subject when there is a literal funeral and everyone is crying quietly and it's silent.
It's literally a 'cough the wrong way and you're shunned for all eternity' moment.
Nobody has shunned the girl for all eternity lmaoo it’s just funny that she shushed the crowd and proceeded to sing horribly
We learn this in pre school
When someone is talking, dont scream
Agreed
True
Singing along is kinda the point of a concert
@@Oskar_464 not everytime
@@Oskar_464 No, the real point is to listen to your idol singing
You gotta love the moment she said sh literally everyone just STOPED
I think she’s right and I love that her fans just listened to her, and the way she was singing, admiring that silently and watching her just deliver herself like that to the fans is way more rewarding than singing along
Some songs are better to sit in silence and connect to while others are good to scream. Lorde songs are something I think should be sat in science listening to. To hear the emotion and to connect to.
no bc that clip sounded so beautiful at the moment when the fans stopped singing
There’s a longer video from a different angle and they stay silent the whole time and it’s really beautiful
They weren't screaming they were signing along. It should be a compliment that they memorized her songs.
Lorde is a very capable artist and I can understand that they want a particular section to sound a certain way. Good for her
It just seems like she wants to really gets into that song 😭😂💀
Its just better when there's no disruptions to a masterpiece :)
I mean honestly I think if you pay to be there, you're allowed to sing along as much as you want..that's kinda the whole point.
i just think a whole crowd singing to your favorite artist is what makes a concert, if she wanted them to experience that song with only her voice she could have told everyone that before the song started. being shushed feels off
@@sara.s.7032 exactly!
@@sara.s.7032 lol it's funny because the comment right above this one is someone saying Lorde did tell the fans to be quiet during that particular song before she started singing
@@itzelwisteria1819 huh guess i missed it, and the audience did as well
this.
I almost never want to go to a live performance or listen to a song recorded at a live event because people get so excited and forget the performance is the most important part.
To me the way they sung that sounded really personal so it makes sense they want a moment to sing by themselves
“Spoken like a true artist” 😏😏😉😂
She wasn’t even rude about she just put her finger over her mouth as if she was saying “not right now”
I saw this on twitter the other day and the comments are horrifying.
You dont need to always sing together in a concert. Just chill ffs
By the way, thank you for tht last part. Wish there are more people like you in this world, lots of people with self-centered opinion.
@@snottypat9738 yeah I know, and I agree with you. I'm not saying what she did was wrong, I was just surprised with 2 platforms and their opinions. I'm not mad she shushed them and etc, hope what I said didn't come off as offensive and wrong :p
I agree with her. She wants that moment to have real impact. She's the artist, let her perform her art in the way she wants to express it.
Can't be helped, people on the Internet just likes to throw insults at people because they don't understand their true motives or intentions. It's just like how Jack Ma got roasted by the comment section in that 30M+ views video, people insults him while not understanding what he really meant. People needs to chill out sometimes.
I'm not mad at what she did. I'm mad that people paid money to hear whatever that was.
Thats why I love japanese concerts. There are moments when audience go crazy but there are times when everyone is so quite to give the artist the moment to express the song and emotions.
I was a huge Lorde fan. I bought tickets to lollapalooza just to see her she never went on because it rained 😢 I was literally front row cried so much that day haven’t listen to her since 😂
I don't get the hell the last video was supposed to show, why shush them? That fucking dialogue doesn't make It nice
Because sometimes silence is better, the song she's singing is an emotional song so of course she wants to show those emotions and the audience is ruining that emotional ambiance, it's just ruining the experience
Cause there loud and it's supposed to be emotional.
@@crimsonsinner1454 But why didn't she tell the the crowd to be quite for a moment instead of shushing them

When her face was near the camera it gave me the dandelion girl vibes
People in classical music and theater arts would really relate to this
What the hell is even that explanation. Stop simping my dude
She's shushed the audience so ahe could sing better, got misunderstood to be rude and talked about it at her next show where people were more respectful. That's a decent explanation...

Bye , internet is a nightmare for singers
One thing that really impresses me is the fact the fan actually stopped singing, like some people really don't care about the artists words
This makes sense because there didn't seem to be a loud instrumental in the background, the crowd singing was getting louder and she wasn't encouraging them to get louder so her shushing them makes sense. I personally wanna enjoy music without people singing constantly in the background anyways
I always forget she's actually an artist and not a south park character
There's a video of Chester Bennington of Linkin Park singing with a completely off-key fan...he continues to sing cause he knows his marks... this lady, whoever she is, doesn't look like she practiced well.....
Chester is so good at mingling with the crowd. Lorde is pretty good (I have heard her album Pure Heroine and it's amazing) but she was slightly in the wrong here. I think Taylor is also a good example of singer who understands how the crowd must felt
“To having this room of ppl who understand me” girl r u gonna shush them again? 😭
That singing to though, South Park was so true to the source material.
Idc about emotions the mic is there for a reason
I literally don’t understand what she meant by that
She did it for all the fans who paid to enjoy HER singing. All the quiet ones who just *went.* Sad the loudest ones are the only ones who get heard.
THAT ONE TWEET THAT SAID :
“Lorde when you dont shush” LMAOAAOAOOAOA
Keep up the good work project nightfall!
0:08 what is this 😭
As someone who has been singing in choirs for years, with many many people and different audiences, let me say this… it is extremely frustrating and extremely difficult to try to sing when there are people who are singing waaaaaaay off.
That line she say though… oof, rough lol
🤫👍(I'm whispering and I just wanna say I really like your videos)
ah yes now that i called fast hating when people try to enjoy hearing song then hear other scream
I know right, it’s like when I pay my monthly gym membership I clearly own and can do anything I want within the gym since I now own it.
I love Lorde for this. Fans are different now a lot of them think they have to sing EVERY word of EVERY song and lots are filming it too. It takes away from the energy of the performance. Take yourself out it for a second and just enjoy it.
No it wasnt cuz she shushed them…its cuz she sounded bad after that
It's really being thoughtful about other people who are silent and wanted to listen with ONLY Lorde's voice.
As I've said, "Of course sometimes I want to sing along, but I always check the mood of the room first before initiating."
I love to sing along with my fave singing artists and have already done it multiple times. That said, it is common courtesy to be silent during times when it is needed.
My name is lorde yah yah yah yah
I've love Lorde and I've grown up with her songs my entire life. 💙
"when yall didnt shush" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I get it but it's still pretty pretentious. Feels very "If you're my TRUE fan you'll do whatever I say and not question me"
Oh yeah I get it, the response makes it look kinda iffy but i do think she had the right to shush them
@@vaishnavisingh9244 Yeah she should have just told them to be quite for a moment instead of shushing them
@@emmanuelaadebayo8591 you rather hear a pause during the song for her to say "give me a moment, please, be quiet, thank you." It's really just also etiquette to enjoy and not ruin it for others though.
As a lorde fan, youre more inclined to want to listen anyway
bro i didn't know that was lorde until you said it 😭😭😭😭 That video was everywhere and i thought it was just random person in a gig 😭😭
She’s lucky she still has any fans willing to pay for a show ten years after her one-hit album in 2012/2013. If she doesn’t want people singing along to her song perhaps she should record an acoustic or unplugged set without a live audience.
