I'm Kadazan. A native race of Sabah. Sabah was known as North Borneo aka Crown Colony of British Borneo and was granted independence in Aug 31, 1963. The first Prime Minister of North Borneo and 6 others leaders from various race/tribes was killed in 1976, June 6 which is known as Double 6 Tragedy. The death of North Borneo Leaders led to Tun Abdul Razak and Tun Hussein Onn a Malays extremist to force Sabah joining Federation of Malaysia. In the June 6, 1976 North Borneo leaders was on board a plane heading to KL to inform KL that North Borneo wishes to become a republic. But Tun Hussein, knowing that Malaya cannot survive because of lack natural resources needed to "kidnap" And force Sabah (North Borneo) into the formation of Malaysia. Singapore managed to leave the union. North Borneo were dominantly Christian until the famous Islamisation of Sabah in 1976 to 1992 under the "Project IC Mahathir". Mahathir allowed the influx of Muslim from Southern Philipines (Palawan, Mindanao, Zamboanga, Tawi TAwi etc). These Muslims from Philipines was converted in Muslim Voters that led Tun Mustapha, a puppet politician by Mahathir to create chaos and the famous riot in 1986 in Kota Kinabalu.

I always "visit" Borneo 😆 to be honest, daily as I'm from the Land Below the Wind as formally know as North Borneo. Very informative video. Cheers everyone.
I live in west borneo, absolutely nothing to do. There’s only jungle that mostly inaccessible and brutal weather. This might sound interesting the nature and all but unlike forest, a jungle is a whole different beast it’s easy to get lost and entering the jungle itself is not an easy task so unless you have a team with an expert with you it’s hard to go anywhere there
I was able to visit Sabah a couple years ago as part of a uni module and we saw a female orangutan eating fruit high up in a tree which was amazing. Proboscis monkeys were also everywhere and always funny to look at while you would see several macaques per day. It was sad how little primary forest still existed and it was covered in palm plantations which were ghost towns that only benefitted palm civets
Yep, so many are oblivious to the distinction between "km squared" and "square km". The unit symbol "km²" is the root cause; it should be pronounced "square kilometers". I saw a sign recently where a volume of 100 km³ was described as a cube 100 km on each side. It's exasperating... I want the time back, that I spent learning all of this. Apparently it's now irrelevant.

Borneo can’t be 2.9 times smaller than Greenland. Multiplying by a number greater than one is an increase or a magnification. So saying that Borneo is 2.9 times smaller than Greenland is mathematical nonsense.
You're being too literal. Everyone understands that simply means Greenland is 2.9 times larger than Borneo. It's something people can picture straight away, which is what counts with regards to communication.
@@rizkyadiyanto7922 Are you saying many people don't automatically translate twice as small, to mean the other is twice as big? That they're imagining the literal mathematical equation, and coming up befuddled? I get it. Twice as big, translates to half as small. But I can guarantee most people people instinctively understand both.
@@rizkyadiyanto7922 Actually, now that I think about it, division is the inverse of multiplication. Something can be 3 times more, or three times less , than something.

@PrescottJJames stop being racist and accept the fact that islam is the majority in sabah, sarawak and kalimantan.. they were never be forced to joining malaya, ur fact is so dumb and racist and you cannot accept the fact.. kadazan dusun was never the only tribe live in sabah and please never claim sabah as your own
SARARWAK MENTIONED!!!🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
It's funny that Borneo on your thumbnail only represents Indonesia's part.
Hello from the native of Borneo xD...come visit us. Im in Malaysian part of Borneo but i got relative in Brunei and in Indonesian part also. We all related linguistically and culturally in this huge Island even though we live in different countries. The Palm oil stuff is a double edge sword....its the only way we can get the GDP that we have now. Without it we in the Island would still living in the jungle and eat grass. Unless you live in Brunei where everything is free becasue you got OILS. Boneo is rich with resources. Like it or not for human to live on this island we need to cut some trees, open up land for agricultures and built houses. Unless you want us to live on trees. xD
Hi world, from Borneo. We are currently in year 2034.
Whoa I didn’t know a rafflesia is bigger than a redwood tree! You say it’s the biggest plant?
That thumbnail is Kalimantan, not Borneo itself.
Borneo is something that without malaya and it is still beautiful and rich.
You left out sarawak and sabah in the thumbnail
Please show the whole Borneo island in your thumbnail, thanks.
Recalled the name from the Tf2 map.
Neat to now know the surrounding setting
As someone who lives in Borneo, I can assure you the RED team always wins, we get to watch their matches on TV!!!
I always "visit" Borneo 😆 to be honest, daily as I'm from the Land Below the Wind as formally know as North Borneo. Very informative video. Cheers everyone.
Kuching Borneoan here…🙋🏻♂️.. interesting video….🤔
Next can you do one such video about the island of java or the philippines
Balikpapan could be the next metropolis, it places right next to the new capital Nusantara.
I live in west borneo, absolutely nothing to do. There’s only jungle that mostly inaccessible and brutal weather. This might sound interesting the nature and all but unlike forest, a jungle is a whole different beast it’s easy to get lost and entering the jungle itself is not an easy task so unless you have a team with an expert with you it’s hard to go anywhere there
Thumbnail needs to be changed.
Geography Bible doesnt get his Geography right on the thumbnail
If you're gonna talk about borneo why did you cropped out the northern part?
Important point he missed is that the new Indonesian capital, Nusantara, is being built in East Kalimantan.
Where's the rest of the Borneo ??
Funfact our borneo coal is what makes tokyo, beijing, shenzen, chongqing have 24 hour electricity
Hello from South Borneo/Kalimantan Indonesia
watching this as proud Sabahan
proud to be borneo malaysian
No one talking bout how the thumbnail is just Indonesian Kalimantan and not all of borneo
KALIMANTAN/BORNEO MENTIONED 🗣️🔥🔥
pretty sure you meant the largest flower. obviously there are plants way bigger, like in that same photo
Watching this video while in Borneo
The island looks like a far godzilla
750,000km x 750,000km
WHOW!!
@@JxH
Idiocracy is taking over.
@@patricka.crawley6572one day...Borneo Will be united

If I drove on the left, I'd be checked for drinking! (New England 😉)
Pretty normal to be There
Are you the same person that used to have the 101 facts channel?
The land of Aramaitii…
Borneo can’t be 2.9 times smaller than Greenland. Multiplying by a number greater than one is an increase or a magnification. So saying that Borneo is 2.9 times smaller than Greenland is mathematical nonsense.
You're being too literal. Everyone understands that simply means Greenland is 2.9 times larger than Borneo. It's something people can picture straight away, which is what counts with regards to communication.
@@samkelomambisa1897except many people cant picture it easily. it just causes more confusion.
@@samkelomambisa1897 the fact that there is ALWAYS people complaining about this means it is wrong.
@@rizkyadiyanto7922 Actually, now that I think about it, division is the inverse of multiplication. Something can be 3 times more, or three times less , than something.
Your thumbnail pic is wrong. It is only showing the Indonesian part of it.
What on earth is Borneo?Uh..well oil..wait.... not the freedom one...
This video is like im making my thesis but all the resources is from 3rd rate journal.
I from this island.
Lucky to visit? I've basically lived here most of my life. North of Borneo in the state of Sabah, Malaysia. Lots of clips you've shown are from our capital Kota Kinabalu, Sabah which is pretty unique for having a capital next to the ocean. I do live in the interior parts but it's mostly a 2 hours drive to Mt. Kinabalu. Heck I'm working in even further interior parts about an hour or two away from the Indonesian borders. Otherwise, a great spots for nature tourism. Just make sure to say hello to the locals 😂.
im in Tuaran!
Today Borneo are belonging to some various tribes of locals from all Asian countries and many of them are Chinese origin who formerly migrated from China Mainland beside the sea of Borneo is claiming expand boarders by China .
