I have a self absorbed mother who constantly rejects me. She has scarred me pretty deeply. I sing this song to myself as my own parent. Because life without a mother's love and support is a life that makes no sense. I want my mom to say "come back to me" like she didn't sign her parental rights over to the government, and relinquished any and all emotional, mental and financial mothery duties, til this day.
