Sam was originally created to be Kurt's boyfriend, and when they saw Chord Overstreet's chemistry with Dianne Agron (Quinn) they changed the storyline and came up with the character of Blaine! So cool! I'm so glad that Chord and Dianne had chemistry!

sam as u said was the original boyfriend of kurt.. but then blaine is also on story line for season 2 were he will play as kurt's mentor.. but then the oozing chemistry of chris and darren plus the huge fan based forced the writers to make klaine..

@@kevinworrall5851 I hated how in the last season he was being targeted by Ryan, as Naya was given speeches towards him and his appearance and voice. At that point they went too far.

Actually, the producers juggle with the audience about who will come Kurt's boyfriend, Karofsky including. Sam character was the last addition to the cast when they decided to let go Dijon Talton (Matt). Robert Ulrich (casting director) always love Darren's performances and he auditioned many times until he got Blaine's part. For me, Robert Ulrich was the reason Blaine became Kurt's boyfriend.

@OhhNooYouuDidntt I think his point was that he doesn't want to stress that. He even says that "He's (Kurt) proud, he's popular and he struggles" but the focus is that "he is a role model to so many gay kids who watch that show and see that character and say, I can be that."
The cast and crew/writers are just such amazing people
I'm glad they picked Darren to play Kurt's boyfriend in the end, because he was the only one worthy (and good looking enough) to be equal to that honor.

Ryan is not interested in Kurt being gay bash or bullied. Kurt gets bullied by Karosky season 1 & 2 & he gets gay bash in season 5
I think he meant that he didn't want to see Kurt miserable; winning that crown at the prom and owned it was his way to win the battle against his bullies. I think that's what he meant.
