- How I Feel about my Donor Egg Baby
My successful IVF (using donated eggs) pregnancy is now over and I now have a healthy baby boy.
Many have asked me how I really feel about my donor conceived son so here is the truth.
Meet my baby Хобби
You carried him for 9 months nurtured him and gave birth to him an egg is invisible to the eye you are the one who gave him life! You just needed the ingredients you baked the cake ❤️
Beautiful said :) x
Shake and bake
Yeah that's so true
Thank you for writing this. I am heading into ivf w/ egg donor. I really appreciate this point of view--very helpful and fun to boot! :D
Typical comment about an ingredient missing is what they tell you to make it seem normal your manufacturing a life. The child will now have a piece missing for life. I do hope the mother tells him the truth
I think someone who goes thru IVF and so deeply want a baby and then grow it inside her for nine months is just as much a mother as anyone else!
I have premature ovarian failure and am starting a donor egg IVF cycle soon. I was so upset at first but watching videos like this give me so much joy, excitment, and peace. Your son is beautiful ❤
oh thank you lovely. He's two in August so doing an update video soon and you can see our bond. All the best lovely you won't regret it xxx
@@AmandaDawn87 Aw that is so sweet. I can't wait to watch!
I have the same problem but I can't decide 😕 I am afraid I will have mixed feelings about it
Me too!!
From a potential egg donor, this was such a wonderful video too see what I could do for families. This was incredible. Thank you:)
Hi Anna, it is an amazing thing you are looking at doing! My life has never felt complete down to someone like yourself xxx
I can't thank you enough for sharing your story and your feelings! My husband and I will be starting the egg donor process in February after 3 failed attempts with my own eggs. Hearing your happiness and love for you son just makes me know I'm making the right decision! You are an inspiration to me❤Thank you
oh this is such a lovely message! I could not love that boy anymore and he is such a mummies boy! honestly it will be the toughest but best decision you ever make. Good luck xxx
I've just watched LOADS of your videos! Thank you so much for sharing your experiences but also for your total honesty, which is such a gift to people going through similar struggles xxx
You are more than welcome, I am glad you helped :)
Smiled throughout the video. Take home for me ' I gave him life and he gave me life' 💛. You sound and look Soo happy and lighter 🌻🌻.
I am, I really am xxx
You represent the very meaning of happiness! I love the connection you have with your son! I pray everyday that this moment your experiencing i will have the opportunity to as well. You give me so much hope and strength to get through this condition we have. I constantly ask why me this isnt fair. Thank you for being beautifully honest and supportive! ❤️❤️❤️
you are more than welcome and I hope your moment comes too xx
Amanda Dawn thank you Amanda!
My journey with IVF Mexico just began and I’m very happy to have them be part of my ivf journey…everything is going quite good…impatient to see my baby grow day by day! Thank you!
Ho Tiara Mason . I am going to do that in Mexico this summer
Please if you don't mind share with me your experience there? Which clinic you went to 🙏
Wonderful video! Thanks for sharing your story so openly, it'll be such an encouragement for others who are on a similar journey.
thank you! that's my aim :) xx
Awww ur so adorable with him. This is very encouraging for these moments of constant heartbreak.
Oh my gosh, I have not met or seen anyone on RUclips yet who has conceived a baby through donor egg. I’m currently 34 w 4 days pregnant with our first baby girl using donor egg and my husband.
I cried watching your video because I can relate so much already with you. I know this baby girl is mine and even though she’s not biologically related to me, I grew her and gave her life. Thank you so much for sharing your story 😊
Congrats mama he’s beautiful❤️
Kate Rooks Can you please provide your IG to follow you along the process! K loves this video I can’t use my own eggs due to my Genes but I can’t wait to be a mom like y’all!! 💕💖💗
Kate Rooks I’m going through this right now. I’m 50 years old and my Fertility Doctor feels really good about this. I’m very excited and can’t wait to share with you guys. I just had a hysteroscopy for make sure my uterus is outstanding. We have a few more steps and we are on our way 🤗😊
She will have questions about her biological mother. Be ready to be honest and open
@@Nolanoyayo who cares about biological mother , my never care for me ,if you don't have nothing good to say, don't say nothing at all.

Thank you for sharing your journey. I'm doing double donor IVF in 2021 and definitely needed to see this. I also loved the video about the donor conceived books for children. I see you are pregnant again. Congratulations! I'm going to binge watch all your content.
Hi Tanika, how exciting! I wish you all the best for your treatment! :) xx
Thank you for sharing your story. I recently got diagnosed with POI after ttc for the past year. Unfortunately I had no idea as I’ve been taking birth control for the past 10 years which have masked certain symptoms so I’m not sure when it happened. We’ve been told (very bluntly) the only way we can have a child is to go through IVF with a donor egg or look into adoption. Me and my other half are absolutely heartbroken as it’s not something we ever even considered. Listening to your stories have made me realise there are other people going through the same thing and not all hope is lost in our dream to have a family. I think you’re very brave and inspiring to be so honest and watching your videos has made me feel like there’s possibly light at the end of the tunnel x
oh im so sorry for your diagnosis! I have heard this happen before to those on birth control! i can only imagine how you feel. I honestly would not change anything about my son! He said his first word today, every day there is something new! I would not feel any different if I made him or the donor! he is more my personality then my other half already at 6 months old xxx
You look amazing and full of positivity and love and memories to treasure xxx
ooomg! i love this so much. You are beaming with joy! i am so thankful for people like you, sharing with the rest of us, giving so many hope.
aw thank you!!! I send wishes to everyone and glad sharing has helped xx
this was the video i needed to see. thank you.
Such an inspiring video! Thank you so much for bravely sharing your story and inspiring so many families along the way ❤️ What a generous thing to give inspiration to so many other people going through the same journey 🙏🏻💕✨
Thank you for watching ❤
Smiled all the way through this ❤ he's so cute!
Love radiates from you face, he is gorgeous and was meant to be your special gift, congratulations on the birth of a special little boy.
I adore him thank you :)
Lovely to see you so happy. You deserve. And Oryn deserves such an amazing and determined mum.
thankyou, he makes me very happy x
Such a beautiful happy video, many congrats 🤗 I am watching it with my 4 month old baby son asleep next to me. He too is a donor egg baby. Everything you described summed up my own emotions, feelings and experience over these last months just perfectly. After 8yrs of waiting, hoping and praying for a miracle....he arrived and I wouldn’t change any of that long journey as it brought me to him. So lucky and so thankful 💙💙 💙
A very important video addressing feelings. Oryn has such inquisitive expressions. First child is a new epoch in your life.....before Oryn and after Oryn, and once bonded there are no regrets that would change how life went before leading to such a loved child, no regrets, which feels such a relief.....and new life ahead for all 3 of you.
awww perfectly said! xxx
So sweet! Love it!! Epigenetics girl, I totally believe in it!!! Can't wait to be there!
Good luck hun! keep me posted xx
I have the same worries/concerns using a donor egg. wondering if the baby and I will truly bond and you put my heart at ease. I’m so happy for you and your family, and thank you for sharing
Hi! so my children are now 5 and 2, and honestly - splitting images of their dad, but mostly my personality!! people compare my oldest to me all the time, he talks and acts like me, dresses in my sort of style too (he picks his own clothes). He is 100% mine! he understands his story, and recently he said "that makes me sad, as I always wanted you to be my mummy". Hes told his story to other adults as well but in his eyes, i am his Mummy. My two year old is too young at the moment. x
Absolutely he’s yours , you gave him life ,the heart beats ,and everything to him (Mom is who raised a child and take of him not who gave birth sometimes)
This video is
I really needed this... thank you
He is so beautiful Amanda, I hope you’re well...you look amazing! Huge congratulations to you all xxxx
Thanks Nia! I hope you are well :) xx
Congratulation Amanda! Glad to see you and your family happy. The baby is fully yours it was connected to you thought bond that nobody can break,
thank you xxx
He does look just like you as well. So perfect so beautiful Congratulations to you.
I don’t have ovaries and went thru 5 donor egg cycles sadly to no avail. I guess I never understood why genetics are so important, why blood matters so much. We adopted our son and could care less he doesn’t share our blood. He’s our son.
So sorry about your failed attempts and how lovely you have your son :) x
Watching this made me feel so much better because i kept calling myself just a vessel an incubator i kept beating myself up but my husband(who is white)donor black btw and doctor kept talking to me encouraging because i just felt some way because i knew the baby would not look like me and now watching this beautiful video made me smile and feel better. Because i know regardless he/she will be mine and they will see me as mommy no matter what!Thank you for sharing your beautiful story..congratulations
Oh lovely I am so sorry you feel that way. I now have two boys, my eldest in this video is compared to me so much! he is five now! he looks similar to me (through expressions I think) and more my personality! my youngest is identical to my husband. No one ever questions if they are "mine" you've got this!
Thank you so much for sharing your story What you did is very brave
Thank you for watching :)
I've read where there is research that supports that they do get some of the carriers traits . I stumbled on your video which cant be quintessential. So helpful as we are just starting our IVF journey and trying to do fundraising and find a good loan option and pick a donor etc.
ah best of luck in your journey!!! any questions let me know xx
I started a channel and posted 2 videos haha they are so newbie and very amateur haha ole well at least they are REAL ! Lol thx agian
My daughter is almost two and genetically is mine but we will need donor eggs in the future.
My girl did all the same stuff with me in regards to staring and seeking me out, it's a mummy baby thing because you ARE his mummy in every sense of the word even if not genetically!!
I'm so excited to expand my family and watching this has calmed alot of my fears about bonding, wish you all the best he's gorgeous xxx
thank you so much Riana. I am so glad it helped and wish you the best of luck in your journey :)
Thank you for sharing this! I am still trying to decide whether to move forward with donor egg or embryo donation. I am REALLY anxious about what to share online (since I've vlogged our infertility journey too). You make me feel a little bet better about the process. Have people online been kind with your decision? Also, he is a beautiful little boy and you are positively glowing!

I'm so glad that baby Oryn has bought so much fulfillment in your life Amanda. I have followed you through your journey from the beginning and watching you get to this point brings me so much joy! I smiled through this entire video. :-) This bundle of joy has put a smile on your face that I've NEVER seen before. He is your baby in every way! He's absolutely adorable. He resembles you I've read that even though the egg might come from another women traits are passed to the developing embryo from the birth mother congratulations he is handsome little guy😊
yes epigenetics :) thank you xx
He looks just like youuu woahhh😩❤
do you think? I do not see it personally but thannk you. He is almost 2 now :)
He urs hun u have carried him over 9months what people say is irrelevant u have bonded with him while carrying him it might not be the same but u are his mommy
I am thinking about this, and I just judge everything by my cat. I love him more than anything, and I can't imagine not loving a baby no matter how I get it, using my own eggs, using an egg donors egg or even adoption. You can point at a rock and say its name is Lilly and right there and then I get feelings for Lilly the rock :P
100%!
Love his name.xx
thank you :)
I may need egg donation I'm the future if I have a baby, I feel like a mother is often defined as a woman who carries and nurtures a baby for nine months and then gives birth to that little person. You gave him life , he's here in this world because of you. I think he does look you and egg donation is like a beautiful gift one woman gives to another and that's really beautiful, women helping women in this journey :) love makes a family, you will be the one he looks up to, you and your husband. The ones who inspire him and most importantly the ones who love him. You carried and gave birth to a baby and that means you are a mother. I think you seem like a lovely loving woman and mother and even from the clips you showed he does genuinely look very contended and I'm not just saying that. I really wanna continue following your story and will subscribe because as someone with a possibility of a future child carrying a genetic condition and endometriosis and pcos I've been told egg donation may be something I'll need to conceive. After watching this and videos like this, I'm becoming more confident about using doner eggs someday. Congrats btw :)
Hi Elaine. Thank you for such a kind comment! I will be uploading a video soon as he is now 5 months old which is crazy! his genetics really make no difference! I wish you lots of well wishes :)
Hi Amanda, Thanks for the video, it's so helpful. I have a questions about are you using fresh or frozen eggs? and your husband using fresh or frozen sperm? if you have leftover 5 days blastocyst embryos is that possible to freeze them and ready for future? Please reply 🙏 Sorry if too much questions, because I am first time IVF and the clinic staff not really answer me at all 😩
Thank u
About to start the process, going for my Mock transfer on Monday. This helped me alot..Thank you again..May God bless us both. I've been wrestling with this for a month now and this has eased all anxieties of not being "biologically" mine. I wanted to cry when I seen how happy the process especially ur son has made u...Will keep u updated..fyi I had 3 ectopic pregnancies and a miscarriage. Last year found out I had low amh so donor egg has been our decision..
That the same I feel about my daughter. I also had her conceived using a donor egg and she is mine. I could never imagine my life without her.. I love her with all my heart . Xoxo and greetings from California
crazy isnt it? i would not change Oryn at al! Congratulations on your daughter :)
When you gave birth to your baby, did your IVF specialist relay info to your OBGYN about you giving birth from a donor? How were you able to keep it confidential?

When you gave birth did your Doctor (not your IVF specialist) know your baby was from a donor?

It is always said that a mother give birth to a baby, but in your case a baby has given a birth to mother, a lady who truly deserves to be pregnant and feel the motherhood. Congratulations ❤❤ I think this will make your bond more close to your son than the other usual mother and son bond.

Looking from the other side busy with my ivf cycle and there will be extra eggies and embies i am thinking of donating my extra eggies and embies instead of freezing them for myself and was wondering what the mum would feel
they will feel complete and utterly love. My sons are 4 and almost 2 now and adore them. It would be a wonderful thing but you have to do what is right for you x
Amazing thing, you know! There are so many people around us who always try to interfere in our lives that it seems their only the most important thing to do. Why do they worry about our lives but not theirs???? If even a woman who gave birth to a child after egg donation treatment love this baby most of all in the world consider this tiny as hers why others always try to pay attention to that this baby isn't her????
😍
I'm excited about my donor baby. It would be like birthing my own child because my donor is my child so my genes already running through her little veins. I'm excited to meet my mini me.
To me it is sad. That is someones grandchild they may never know or hold o kiss or enjoy the joys of grandparents life.
incorrect, my boys have 4 grandparents that adore them. Please go educate yourself and take your insensitive comment elsewhere. Because I went through the menopause at aged just 13, I am not entitled to children? bye.
and to add, our donor already had children.
The dna your child has of you is significant! He is biologically yours!!❤️
Worth looking into epigenetics to those new to this.
Hello Amanda
Hello. I have a son who is 3 years old born thru donor eggs. I keep thinking about genetics even though I have 2 older kids born thru my own eggs.Any advice for me.
I would just think about how much you love him how he is :)
I remember when I realized that the only chance for me to have my child is using donor eggs. I was completely terrified at first. Adoption wasn't an alternative for me. I wanted to carry and give birth to my baby. I wanted to be with her from the moment when she was born, with her first breath. Of course, I wanted her to look like me. So we requested the donor with the same features as mine. But once embryo transfer was done, the only thing I could think about was pregnancy to be successful. I gave birth to MY baby! Now I don't even remember that my child' life began in the donor program. It doesn't matter anymore. All I know is what I feel. My heart beats for her! I know one hundred percent I'm her mom and she's my daughter. So I am happy that I made this decision. And I'm grateful to the clinic which gave me this chance.
Thank you for sharing!! I completely agree!!
I’m so sad cause only way I can have another baby is doing IVF And man it’s so expensive
The title gives new blender from Amazon review.
His lovely congratulations. Looks like u too me soon
Did you have to wait a long time to get w doner egg?
our clinic had a batch on freeze so we had them so no wait but in general they are around 3 months
Omg he does look like you !
strange isn't it. the donor must of looked like me xx
Epigenetic might be the reason 😉 The donor recipient does have influence on the "outcome" of👶 baby (sorry for my English, it's not my mothertongue) 😊
...of the baby... Lots of luck! 🍀🌹🌞
@@nadinemuller4729 yes I've read about that. One day I may meet her if he wishes and we will find out :)
+Amanda Dawn That's great! I wish you all the best! 🍀 🌞 🌹
He does have some of your traits through epigenetics
Question hopefully it not rude but what do you do when your family start noticing that the baby doesn’t look like you? Like what if you keep it a secret that your baby is a donor egg baby
nothing happens if the kid doesnt look like them. if you had a child and he/she resembled not you but a great uncle, you wouldn't love him less
I wish you would’ve talked more about the donor - like what kinda relationship.. what was the process etc
Im curious
it's an unknown donor (if you watch my whole journey the process is explained) he can trace her details when he is 16 but I cannot. I just got a description of her characteristics and a letter she wrote to any children conceived from her donation which I have a copy of for my son. Watch my donor consultation video and ivf playlist :)
Amanda Dawn oh wow! Ill definitely watch - i just started the donation process myself
I would love to talk to you about that
Everything i said still remains the same :) he's 2.5 now and I have another on the way. Would not change a thing :)
I didn’t use donor eggs and one of my kids doesn’t even look related to me 😆 she’s a clone of her dad. Looks don’t always matter :)
exactly ❤❤❤
How much did it cost to have him?
hi if you go to my ivf playlist there is a video on how much it cost with a breakdown of what cost what :)
The thing that I want to know is it always constantly on your mind?
Sometimes but not always, mainly the fact my eldest is so like me I have to remind myself :)
@@AmandaDawn87 he’s a bit older now, does he understand? Does he care. I have just found out that egg donation may be my only option as I’m going through peri menopause. This is where I feel that I’m struggling, I want another (I have 1 little boy)

Omg for a few years I tucked away The idea of using a donor. After trying for so many years and so many rounds of IVF, I have to admit when looking at your baby, no matter it’s from yourself or donor, it’s your baby! U look so happy! And he is a blessing !
oh thank you so much! what a lovely message xx
You are over thinking it babe. That is your baby. If it wasn’t for you and hubby he wouldn’t be here. Don’t ever call him your donor son. That is your baby. 😊
Thank you, he is 3 now and we have another who is 8 months, adore them x
If you birthed him then you are the mum
You are the Recipient so your label is Recipient Parent
You know how you look lovely ?
You look like a PARENT a MAMA and you absolutely GLOW
so there’s this stereotype, ‘traditional’ adoption included, that donors and do-cipient offspring automatically want connection and bond with the opposite, that’s FALSE each situation is separate,
yes there certainly needs to be the option for connection and bond also opportunity but the theory and mindset of automatic and some even try to impose it is ridiculous
I know 5 people 2 are twins that are ‘traditionally adopted’ and they have no desire to connect and have a bond with they’re genetic-links that are kin
in fact some areas anonymous donation is legal in my country USA it is and some people are horrified at it but for some folks reproductive-donation is merely DNA which it partially IS
