Good job mate! An awesome piece of kit; it's a while I'm flying with your app and I absolutely loved it. A few times I forgot to press start and bit of my flight logs were missed but this new auto record feature is awesome. The only suggestion I can have for you is to detect and show wind direction.
TheFlyingScotsman it was a design that a company called spreadshirt had on its list of paramotor designs you could choose for printing on various clothing. I thought that’s where you got it from.
Ha. Turns out they've been selling em since I did my design years ago. I've removed it now. On plus side the 10 sales have made my 3.50 commission. I will try not to spend it all at once. 😁
I hope the knee is well and you're flying again! I have StuFly on my Garmin Vivoactive3. StuFly works great during flight. I just need to remember to lock the touch screen before I fly. If I don't, my shirt seems to shut the app off via the touch screen. QUESTION: I can't seem to stop the flight and get it to save the trace too my Garmin Connect in the Vivoactive3 watch. When I push the button, it stops the app but there is no option to "Save". Most other apps first bring up a "Pause" screen and then an option to "Discard" or "Save". Does StuFly have a way to save the trace data built in? If so, can you tell me how to do this? Thanks in advance!
It seems to be working now on the Garmin Vivoactive3. It does not give the option to "Save" or "Discard". But the trace is saved every time and then sync'd with the Connect phone app. Thanks.

I learned in South Africa on a holiday. I don't believe there's any training in Scotland. If I was you I'd make a holiday of it once this covid stuff is over - go to Spain and learn.. Or even England if you must 😁
So I unboxed a new 7X last night. First thing I did after pairing is try to download Stufly to see what all the fuss is about. Apparently its not supported on the 7 series yet. :(

Hi Stu, Fellow pilot from South Africa. Can you recommend (or suggest) a Garmin model that has all the relevant sensors for your app that is the cheapest in their range? No need for the fitness or other smart stuff, just want it to be the most compatible with your app. Thanks for the effort, its greatly appreciated.
I think the vivoactive 3 is cheapest with GPS and baro sensor. Or check out ebay, you should be able to get a 2nd hand fenix 3 very cheap. As long as got GPS and baro sensor and on list of supported watches it will work identically on the most expensive and cheapest watches. 👍🏻

I got stufly for my Garmin vivoactive 3. Everything works except for total distance traveled. It shows distance home but not total distance. How can I get this working?
Stu, quick question. How do I start recording on the vivoactive3. It only has the one button! Perhaps an auto record option that toggles auto recording start on takeoff? Awesome app, many thanks.
@@TheFlyingScotsmanTV on my vivoactive3 pressing the button before take off but after GPS lock results in the activity/app list being shown along with a short vibration. From the activity list selecting stufly again starts your app from the seeking gps stage. I wonder if the behaviour is different once take off has been detected (not been able to try that sadly) I'm happy to run through any tests you want to suggest and send video back to you if that helps.
hi ben, so just tested on simulator and seems to work ok. Wait for gps lock. then press button will start recording. press again to stop recording. swipe left to right to get exit app prompt. hold left of screen to get options to change settings.
Hey Stu great news and thanks for putting in the extra effort. Do any of you out there use the Garmin 945 Forerunner? Do you have any pics of the screen running Stufly? Debating wether to go 945 or Fenix 6, i see the advantage of the 6 but its heavy and maybe bulky for what extra i want to do with it, ie running, trekking, climbing etc. Thanks all
I think so. Garmin website has all specs, but I think just the running watches don't. It isn't required for any functions, but it allows it to be more accurate at determining altitude.

I've had some folk say it's fine. I don't have the watch, so can only test in simulator but works there. You may need to activate the new auto record feature as one person said the start stop didn't work right on it. But with autorecord it was fine.

Does anyone else have a problem with it displaying the wrong altitude? My altitude is 470ft and the stufly is showing 637ft 🤯. My fenix 5 shows the right altitude but then the app shows it well out...any advice please?

I've tried that but it's really hit and miss tbh. It's only as good as your last 360, and do one of them you'll have worked it out yourself.

Just checking to be sure… Stufly will not work on a Garmin Foretrex device as it’s not a smartwatch, correct?

Log on to garmin connect in browser. Go to activity. U can download gpx from there

it'll look just the same as any 240x240 resolution model.i.e. fenix 6 42mm.
