I definitely agree with your rating. This episode feels like the biggest experiment to see if Andy can work as a main character. And the answer is, "mmm... kinda..." It's pretty telling that even with a majorly scaled back role, Michael Scott is still the best part of this episode. Andy, Jim, and Erin's storylines are all more frustrating than they are entertaining
I actually like the Andy/Darryl interaction in this episode. It is building on their relationship where Darryl acts as an older brother/ father figure to Andy- something Andy really needs.
I don’t know if Jim was a d-bag persay when he said the guy was “too dumb.” He was kid! Who probably didn’t totally understand why he wasn’t “supposed” to hang out with that guy. That’s how I took it at least.
@@kdburner7356 and as a kid, you don’t really know how to express that idea, or yourself in general, properly, so you say something like “my mom thinks you’re too dumb” Now adult Jim should totally be an adult and apologize, but Jim isn’t very good at confrontation.
I've been watching everyone of your episodes since the beginning. This is a crazy feat to accomplish, and I look forward to sticking through to the end. I also wanted to give you a fun little fact that you could mention in the trivia episode. Both the trivia host, and the credit card guy from this episode, were characters in the paranormal activity series
2:12 my parents attended a lot of timeshare presentations on our vacations as a kid and I didn't know it wasn't normal until much later. They always had a place for the kids to play. I came home from college one time and we went on a mini trip to Orlando and they attended some and they are definitely less fun out of the kiddie room
Oh my God YES YES YES my binge watching finally synced up with the field guide! These videos are like eating the whole orange instead of just drinking the juice (the juice being the actual show)
Great review as always! I really think Amy's/Holly's surprisingly terrific Greek accent deserved a shout out. Just the touch of subtle humor that makes the show great. Esp. when they follow it up with her in a talking head just saying, "I don't know."
I was thinking of an old man stashing dead bodies in the mine as a thing... if the old guy was Creed! My favorite cold open, and a 5/5! Love the idea that the 2 Offices exist in the same universe. I wasn't spoiled in advance, which made it a nice surprise. Fans who were spoiled were disappointed - but you're right, it was the best way to do that. My least favorite thing on The Office ever, maybe tied with the vomit cold opening, was Gabe's disturbing film. That's far beyond "cringe"!
Dude. The insight into Michael and Holly and the hope/loss comparison- like, dang. Super deep. The guy in the seminar sounds an awful lot like what got Initech burned down in Office Space. Better watch for Milton..
This episode really showcase what an asshole Gabe is, and what a terrible boyfriend he is. It’s not that she doesn’t want to watch his movies, because she’s being a brat and just doesn’t want to watch anything that wasn’t her pick. She didn’t want to watch his movies because they scare her. If he really wanted to compromise or even cared about her the slightest bit to be a decent person, then he would choose a kid friendly scary movie, like hocus-pocus, monsters Inc., monster house, Coraline (really scary for a kid movie though), the live action Casper movie, and there’s others as well. And he can watch his horror movies when she’s in bed. But instead he has to be an asshole and watch his horror fest with her, knowing full well that they scare her.
If you live outside mexico and the timeshare pitch happens in mexico all you have to do to get out of the entire pitch session is ask "so how do you guys get around the law that only Mexican citizens can own properties in mexico and I'm a citizen of blank?"
Just love that Hardware got a shout out in this episode. If you haven’t seen Lost Soul about the disaster that was The Island of Dr. Moreau, it’s highly recommended
I never saw this episode as looking down or ignoring the merits of horror movies.I just saw it as Erin being I’ll suited for those types of movies because of her emotional situation and her low tolerance for frightening things
With all do respect can you see the difference between this breakdown how in-depth in each character you have several jokes fun facts bring that with marvel not to say I didn't watch or rewatch the marvel one
@@Mulverine sorry what I was trying to say is both are great iron man and just every office episode but for the iron man was what I already knew these office breakdown are good cause you give perspective and lots of sound bites jokes... I feel your iron man episode is but could've gone deeper on the deeper meaning like you do with the office. Also thanks for replying with an open ended question allowing me the opportunity to explain hope I have. Waiting for your next video
I can't stand Gervais but even disregarding that I find this episode kind of...skippable? I don't skip it, but it doesn't grab me. I also don't love the guy Jim knows.
It’s be wary not be weary. Gosh I swear like every episode, you say or miss use some kind of word almost like you you’re a non-native English speaker lol
The low key “Drew” and “Gabe-Wad” throw aways are a true compliment to your writing and effort sir. Well done.

I think Andy worked better in S8 but they had to retcon him
I think the theme is dealing with confrontation obstacles and success. Andy recovered and went for it Jim avoided it and Erin tried to outsmart it.

This is honestly my favourite episode of the office ever.
One word. Creed.

yea that’s pretty common for parents to plant seeds in their kids heads about who they should and shouldn’t hang around with lol

I'm the biggest Jim hater on the planet and I'm with you. It feels like a stupid kid thing not getting an adult thing they couldn't get.
The Seminar picking up from Darryl's revenge on Andy with the exploding printers with the weird friendship they have is great.

Dip! That is him!
Jim has a fear of failure that's why he's there. The family addition makes him take chances like taking on a bigger role or Athlead

Glad you like them!
Another good one Chris... gonna rewatch this one tonight

Did you notice that Jim's sales records was actually better than Dwight?

This is, by far, the only episode of the office that I rate as “unrewatchable”. An episode that shouldn’t exist.

it was nice of them to give the temp a bit of creative control
Jim's old school mate storyline was a drag.
Yeah this episode is a bit weak, but it has Kevin dancing to Crazy Train and Creed telling us about the loch ness monster. What else could we ask for?
Woohoo I caught up!
I never saw this episode as looking down or ignoring the merits of horror movies.I just saw it as Erin being I’ll suited for those types of movies because of her emotional situation and her low tolerance for frightening things
Its sounds an awful lot like what I do here every day.
Hollus Flaxus
Please please please put the season and episode number in the title omg it's so hard to watch these in order I'm just clicking and guessing
I do think they’re in order in the playlist!
Man knows how to hold a grudge.
Completely agree on mobile games.
Drew?
You know I'm not calling him that.
Jeez this breakdown got me wondering about my own life choices 😂 well put thought

Love the feedback, but not entirely sure what the takeaway is. Was the Seminar vid good and the Iron Man not?
