Really happy you had a good time in Rome! And yeah, the Vatican Museums are really chaotic and tiring... there's just way too much to see and far too many people! But glad you managed to tick off most of what you wanted to see!
That's exactly how we felt. We got out of it what we wanted but there are spots I would have stopped and admired the art/architecture more if it wasn't such a press of people.
