- How to replace your Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 AMOLED display.

In the video you will notice I point out that the replacement part only has one flex cable. The second one on the old unit is in fact required for the S-Pen to function. You can buy the S-Pen flex separately for about $8 or if you are very careful you can salvage the old one by removing it from the back of the display assembly. Be sure to test it before you apply the adhesive.

Very good point. I will update the description to address this but include "LCD" as that is how most suppliers list the item.
This video did work for the US version. Slight difference was the home button. Replacement came with 2 flex cables.
They certainly should be. To the best of my knowledge Samsung is the only company that manufactures them. The ones that I have ordered look and work just like the originals.
Try looking for it by model number on Ebay. There are suppliers in the US but they often do not stock the overseas parts.
I haven't had one in recently to check the S-Pen functionality on the single cable digitizer. If I get a hold of one I will test it and update the description.

This was the first time I worked on that model so I removed all of the cables to be safe. Check the audio, I think I mentioned this in the narration. I would always recommend removing the motherboard before replacing the LCD so it does not get damaged.
As long as the phone still works you should be able to. I'm assuming that it doesn't automatically mount as a drive when you connect it to a USB cable. If that is the case then you can A) perform a temporary board swap with a working phone or B) try to navigate to the mounting option without being able to see the screen. For either option you will want another phone of the same model. For the latter just use the donor phone as a guide to navigate yours. Good luck.
I would remove the back panel and check to see if your AMOLED flex cable is plugged in properly. Sometimes impact can cause pop connectors to become disconnected. If that doesn't help then you probably have a broken display even though it is hard to tell by looking at it.
O segundo cabo flex é ligado ao cabo flex S-Pen. Você deve salvar o antigo ou pedir uma substituição para este funcionality.
I don't think so but maybe there is an after market version that is a LCD. Let me know if you find one.
That makes sense. Or maybe it makes the pen more accurate? Unfortunately I don't have the device but I will test the next one I get.
I believe that you will find your answer in the video description.
An idea, has anyone tried using a suction device, then heat to part the glass? Or, use a strong adhesive to fix something to the glass and then heat to seperate it? I like this video, better than others I have seen so far
Yes, that was the reason for the repair.
Yes. They are fused together at the factory.
It sounds like you are describing the mid-frame/bezel.
I would order one with the same model number and logo if possible. My supplier is currently out of stock but you can find them by searching for "gt-n7000 lcd" on Ebay.
valeu cara! consegui fazer a troca, tudo ok! fica a dúvida do porque dos dois flats no lcd original e um no de reposição.
By the way be VERY careful when you remove the old lcd so that you don't damage the flex cable that goes along the bottom of the glass behind your home, back and search buttons. If you do you'll need to replace that too.
thanks for the vid...mine seemed to be a lot harder to get the glass started. popped open near the bottom and then of course ripped the navigation flex cable...grrrrrr...can't say you didn't warn us.
You could place the camera closer.
I bought the screen plus the frame. Would I need to disassemble
as many parts ?
You can purchase a sim card holder/sim tray for about $6. Installation will require some decent soldering skills. Google Skystar Trade.
True, the glass by itself won't do you much good since you can't remove the old LCD without breaking it.
2:20 did you forget to point out the cables then and the touchscreen cables are prolly on the right side and top left then?
It is possible but they never work quite right again and you will notice excessive glare especially in sunlight.
Hi, I have a Star N7100 (Galaxy Note 2 Clone). This may be a longshot, but do you know if it's possible to replace the screen on the clone with a screen from the Samsung model? Is the technology or construction completely incompatible?
Thank you. Would you recommend these parts? Are they original parts?
That question is still unanswered. I haven't come across another yet to find out.
After watching this I think I will go purchase a glass screen protector. I'm also curious as to why they sell just the glass for very inexpensive on eBay but it doesn't appear that it's possible to replace that according to watching this. Lol I suppose I'll just try to preserve the screen I have
Correction- I opened one of these up today for data retrieval and in fact all of the flex cables and the antenna wire must be disconnected in order to remove the board.
Hi! i instaled the new screen and it's installed and functional. with exception of the s-pen that not work any more. With the finger the touchscreen work fine, but with the pen not. I notice that the original screen have two flatcable and the spare part not. Does have anything about it?
hmmm, i wonder once the front screen is damaged, maybe it time to upgrade? :)
(good video, thankyou for sharing)....
cheers!
Yeah figured that out on my second Note repair. Thanks though.
Is this just the outer glass replacement? Or is it the complete list panel itself? I cracks my screen and found glass for5$ on amazon, is this the same?
Doubtful but I never tried that. I have worked on a couple of the clones and once you take them apart they usually start to lose functionality. If you have the Note 2 display I would try to buy a real Note with a broken screen and just use that instead.
dude! looking to buy one to fix my brothers for him - is it v.much advisable to get the lcd/digitiser screen together? or to buy seperates?
Too much adhesive behind the display. If it's broken then I am not really worried about scratches anyway.
Hello, Can you tell me If the glass and the Digitizer are glued together or not?
Is it possible to just change the flex or does thw whole screen have to be changed? Its just the flex that has a slight bit of damage the screen works perfectly, thank you.
If you mean the AMOLED flex then I'm pretty sure you are done. You might be able to replace the digitizer although I'm not sure of the best bonding method. If it's the S-Pen flex then no problem.
Go Cell Phone Repair yea i tried changing it had no luck in the end i managaed to fix the flex back into place lets just hope it holds, thanks for the advice (Y)
Why didn't you use a suction cup to extract the lcd screen, I mean it's more secure and you can avoid scratches
Can I take off the sim card reader and if not can i get a replacement board that contains the sim card reader, if so where can i get such board
does the s-pen still function when not using the flex connector with the new screen?
hi, can you help me... my note 1 screen works fine using fingers but if i use a the s pen almost half of the lower screen is not responding but the upper part works fine... any idea what can be the issue? (digitizer? lcd?...) many thanks...
Have you ever separated the screen and digitizer from the bezel yet ? So u can use the old screen but replace the bezel ?
We have recently started experimenting with the process. Once it is perfected I will post a video.
I think the second flex cable is to make the S pen function to work.. Try ur S pen
When you get the broken screen off, do you have to place some new adhesive on the frame so the new screen sticks?
The replacement screen should come with adhesive behind the AMOLED but you will probably want to add some at the top and bottom of the touchscreen. Be sure not to cover up any of the windows or buttons though.
I dropped my phone at the gym, it landed on its corner and the phone does have a crack on it, but the phone was still working. except there was nothing on the screen. I could still recieve calls/texts my pre-set alarms were still going off but there was just nothing on the screen. would replacing the screen fix that or is the problem deeper?
dude where i can buy replacement for GT-N7000 ? i Google-d and got tons of different digitizer. Are they all same? if i buy digitizer that says AT&T will it work on my phone? What is the difference between those models? i suppose inner part of phone is same but not sure,
i broken my phone screen and i want to know is there any way i can get my photos onto my computer there on the external memory ?
great video. Good job Mike!
Where can I purchase the glass LCD screen for a Samsung Galaxy Note 1 from At&t.
is it possible to get the working screen off the frame if you are wanting to change the bezel??
Possible yes but I won't say easy. You have to be very careful and patient, use some heat, and maybe be a bit lucky. AMOLEDs are very easy to damage if you bend them even slightly.
If only that were an option. All of the Galaxy series Samsung devices have a single lens/digitizer/LCD piece so you will be replacing all of the above.
my galaxy note 1 is totalled, the screen is finished and i dont think the touch response is working, which part of the phone do i have to swap to get the data on the new hardware temporarily?
Have no visual on my Samsung note N7000. I can hear it come on and even plug into the computer that tells me battery % etc... but for some reason there are no photos on it to download. When the problem started I had taken it to a local phone shop who said it could not be fixed but I maybe able to download photos. The thing is I can call the phone it works, I hear the text (but can't see them). When I tried downloading the photos it stated there wasn't any.
Could the phone shop have downloaded them and that's why the phone is clear of photos? Can this phone be repaired so that I can see the screen again and use? If yes what part do I need?
Even if someone copied your photo gallery that would not delete them from the phone. I don't don't why your screen won't light up but the first step would be connecting a replacement screen to see if it turns on or not. The shop that you took it to might have done that already. You might want to ask them about that. If it does then you would need the part shown in the video. You photos should still be there unless the phone was reset somehow. Hopefully not. If so then they are gone.
So it's impossible to rip them apart in a proper way?
Hi guys, my friend recently helped me change the whole panel but since then I have very bad service signal.
Has anyone experienced this? Is there a way to fix it to the way it was before (= completely normal withou any "blackouts")?
Thanks a lot!
Valew brother, me ajudou muitos estavam me cobrando 120 R$ e eu consegui fazer sem ter que pagar. brigadu!!
That would be the logic board.
Where can I find replacement parts?
korean version samsung note how to replce touch screen?
whats the price for a screen and a battery
was the lcd broken?
what's usually the price for replacement
The part on this one is down to about $105 so installed you can expect to pay in the $150 range.
the anther flexible pica belong to the s pen
In my experience this is just about impossible. You might get lucky but you will be risking an expensive AMOLED. A case would be the better investment.

4 people didnt manage to repair the phone :D
มีอยู่1เครื่อง ขาร์จไม่ค่อยเข้า
he know to open or not the screen...???
내가 할수있을까ㅋㅋ
Lol I don't dare to do it.
