What is the reason for cable in the water? And why would you need to do that? What color is the under body glow LED lights? Thank you

It's just to show the temperature sensor part is working and on the screen of the transmitter you can see it rising.
Easy way to show it working I suppose.
As for u der glow lights I have no idea
