Dr. Idriss - Thank you Thank you Thank you for your vlogs! You are a breath of fresh air. I love your no bs and straight info as well as your friendly personality. So many of the companies and products use advertising that is confusing as hell and/or downright false. I discovered you yesterday and have been watching several since. I love that you give many price point products and that you don't spread the info that we need things that we don't - my wallet is very happy. Again, thank you!!
2:15 Avéne Hydrance Intense, Hydrating, Soothes the redness, Glycerin based
2:42 Dieux, Glycerin based, Soothing, Calming, A little bit of fragrance in it tho
3:20 Glossier Niacinamide Serum, It has the right percentage of niacinamide, soothes the skin, calms the redness, has zinc, has no cast
4:04 Alpha-H Niacinamide serum with Vitamin B, has a green colour which is cool
4:28 CosRX Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence, it's much more of a serum than an essence. Hydrating, a little bit goes a long way
6:10 L'oréal Glycolic acid serum, her fav, 10% glycolic acid in a glycerin base, a little bit goes a long way
6:39 La-Roche Posay Glycolic B5 Serum, 10% glycolic acid combined with brightening ingredients such as tranexamic acid and kojic acid, stinks a lil bit but pretty good at brightening the skin
7:30 Skinceuticals Discoloration Defense, it's pretty expensive but it brightens and it's fine for people who are sensitive to glycolic acid. It has niacinamide, tranexamic acid and allantoin (which soothes) it is brightening.
8:19 Differin Dark Spot Correcting Serum with 2% Hydroquinone. Hydroquinone is the gold standard when it comes to evening out ur skin tone. Difficult to find. Has a lil bit of a scent. Good for melasma or any sort of pigmentation. Never use it on a spot, but on the whole face or u could get hypopigmentation.
9:48 Shani Darden Retinol Reform, an alternative to harsher retinols, it has lactic acid to brighten skin tone and even it out. it also has antioxidants like green tea extract to help ur skin protect itself. quite expensive tho.
10:44 L'oréal Revitalift Derm Intensives Night Serum with 0.3% Pure Retinol. Not as expensive as the Shani Darden one. It is gentle, not irritating.
12:26 Ole Henriksen Glow Cycle Retin-ALT Serum, an alternative to retinol it has bakuchiol and licorice extract, gorgeous texture, lavander colour, brightening effects.
14:13 Sunday riley, expensive, vitamin c serum
14:39 No 7 Radiance+ 15% Vitamin C serum, not as expensive as sunday riley one, lightweight. has an interesting form of vitamin c, pretty stable.
16:13 Skinceuticals vitamin c, pretty expensive :(
16:57 Paula's choice azelaic acid booster, quite expensive but so good. evens out skin tone. extremely well formulated. combined with licorice root extract for a brightening extra
17:59 SkinMedica Recovery Serum, super expensive but i would say worth it, it has growth factors, that are amminoacids. great for fine lines.
19:06 Dr. Jart Cicapair Tiger Grass Serum. It has a green tint that neutralize the redness.
Thank you!!!!❤️
You’re a saint! Thank you!!
Tysm ur a gem 😘❤️
You are awesome! Thanks so much for taking the time and effort to do this! ❤🥰❤🥰❤🥰❤
You missed aveeno oat serum.
I absolutely love how you point out when things have hyaluronic acid in them as I'm also avoiding it. It ruins my dry skin. Loved the video as always
Was waiting for this 💯💯thank you for choosing serums for us, this is helpful ❤️ love watching your videos, it's like attending a class from our favorite teacher 💕
Shareene you are buy far my absolute favourite youtuber, dermatologist, and skin care channel. Love love love your content. I just binge watched all your vids, I find them so helpful (and relaxing) haha
please please please do an updated/a current best serum video! you’ve helped me more than you’ll ever know! thank you, dr. shereene!
Would love a video about winter body skincare/ body moisterizers for winter! As always, I just love your energy - makes me happy! 🥰
I'm so glad you included the Sunday Riley vitamin C serum. This one has been a game changer for my 60 year old skin and worked fairly quickly. I'm so tired if people talking about the Timeless vitamin C one which did absolutely nothing for me. Happy New Year to you from New Jersey. I enjoy You!
Dr.Shereene, thank you very much for giving us all the detailed information about every single product 🙏🙏🙏🙏
You are one ❤️
Been waiting this morning and here you are ! Thank you for inserting the product info as you were talking about each serum , so helpful and appreciated . It’s funny you mentioned your patient who flew from Chicago as I live an hour north of the city and also hope to see you over the next year . It would be such a dream to come see THE BEST ! I’ve gone to purchase the L’Oréal glycolic but noticed the denat alcohol as second on inky list and was wondering if it’s right for my 66 yr young skin. Thank you Dr Idriss for your invaluable Utube channel ! ❤️👏👏👏Pam
Thank you for sharing!!! Wishing ya a speedy recovery with great results!! Enjoyed this piece!!
Love your videos. Love your information. Love your down to earth style. Love your encouragement to take care of our skin. I pretty much love you…❤️❤️❤️
Your love for glycerin is what changed my skin. I have only a tiny amount of HA in my routine now and my skin is plump and healthy. So much better for my rosacea!
Me too! My skin is doing so much better after cutting out all HA from my routine.
Honestly same!!
I was just looking at my skin today and thought of dr shereen and the video she uploaded about glycerin. Since that video I've been using glycerin alongside vaseline and no joke my eczema on my hands have cleared up as though I never had any eczema. My flare up was so bad that I thought there is no returning to normal skin on my hands again especially since I'm nearing the age of 40. But my skin is youthful and plump and so soft. The skin on my body and face is healthy and plump too.
@@KN-cr9fv hi may i know which video are you talking about. I also have eczema issue on my thumb area. Few doctors i seek, mentioning bout it is due to stress. And already provide me some cream. But it still not doing anything
@@solihahesmetsidqie6508
Salam sis
Yes the title of the video is:
Let's get intimate: glycerin.
I've been using glycerin since I saw that video so I think I watched it 2 months ago and religiously I've been massaging glycerin everytime I've washed my hands or had a wash and then massaged vaseline on top. It worked instantly for me and over the 2 months the redness and irritation and dryness has subsided in those areas in my hands. I honestly thought I'm nearly 40 and have no hope lol but its helped alot.
I buy a bottle from Amazon not an expensive brand either.
Thank you dr idriss for all the great information! I love listening to you sharing your knowledge!
So excited to see a new video from you. I’m a new subscriber and have been binge watching your videos. You have helped me simplify my skincare which I needed. Thanks & warm wishes from Australia xx
Girl, are you a mind reader? Went down a rabbit hole on how to fix this winter skin today. Of course you came through at the right time! Decided to take your advice and ordered the aveeno serum to layer with my moisturizer. Thank you ❤️❤️.
I would love to see a video focusing more in K-beauty/J-beauty. Love you doc!! 🥰
The PURITO Centella Unscented Serum has 49% centella, 5% niacinamide, peptides, ceramides, panthenol, and green tea!
K-beauty products are amazing. Just got to into their skin care. My longtime dermatologist recommended
Would you recommend this for dehydrated skin with a weak barrier? xx
Love me some purito
@@jackiek4159 um hell yeah perfect for that.
Must try
Thank you for the video! Thanks for including so many affordable options!!
great roundup! Definitely been meaning to get my hands on a few of these. Will try in due course!
Hi dr. Shereene! I’m definitely a total skincare nerd 😆 Thank you for all the great information you’ve provided. I love that you mentioned ethylated ascorbic acid! This is my current favorite form of Vit C since it’s so stable and supposedly it’s active just like L-Ascorbic acid. Is this true?? Would love to learn more about this new form of Vit C on the market 🙏🧐🤓
I would love to see you trying more Korean skincare!
Thank you Dr Idriss for the Aveeno Calm recommendation. It's terrific. Been using it for a few weeks now
Love your videos Shereene, would be good if you could take your time and give us more information on the products you are talking about, telling us what they interact with etc, brilliant video as always xx
The aveeno oat serum comes with a pump in Ireland 😀
That’s fantastic! Hope it makes it across the pond to the USA.
Thank you!
I’m jealous. The dropper applicator absolutely sucks
We are so delighted to finally get the calm and restore range in UK too, we are about a year behind the USA and yes we have pumps on the bottles
Whaaaat! I was just there and I look for it in Boots. Where can you buy it?
Your recommendations are the only ones that work for me compared to other RUclips dermatologists. Thank you!
Dr. Idriss can you do a video on what ingredients to use together and what to avoid using together? I love your videos.
Thanks, I’ll definitely check out the glycolic acid serums and the Glossier niacinamide.
Yes please
Yessss!!!
I’m really interested in knowing about that too
Pleaseeee
Yes!! I struggle so much with this! Would love a cheap sheet or guide
Thanks for the round up. I've finally found a good mix that has evened out my skin and lightened a dark spot I've had for years. It's almost completely gone. I'm enjoying the Prai Beauty 24k Wrinkle Repair Serum and Prai Beauty 24K Concentrate Retinol+ and the twice weekly dose of Tretinoin .025% I'll give it more time to work on these fine lines/wrinkles. If only there was something for the darkness under my eyes. I'll just roll with the punches on that, again Thanks!
Excellent tip about the brightening serums because I was definitely using it as like a spot treatment 😬
Thank you for making this easy for us. Will definitely try.
Hi Dr. I., thank you for making quality skincare information accessible to all who want to learn!
Can you please do a video on how to do anti aging skincare for your body?
After trying so many others, I just re-discovered the Glossier Pure serum and it’s so so good!
This Aveeno serum has been such a life saver! Agreed about the stupid dropper. Thanks for getting me hooked on this.
Hi, is aveeno serum can be found in walgrenns or rite aid??thank you
not to truly sound like a nerd but your saturday morning videos are one of my favorite parts of the weekend
It may not be on your list, but I have been LOVING the Elta MD Skin Recovery Serum. It just feels substantial and really great on my skin 😍
I absolutely love love watching your videos they are so informative and you are actually a credible source of information…question in what step of skincare do you use the nicidimide?
Dr Idriss, many of us skin care nerds know about adding vitamin C and sunscreen in the morning, however what other actives can we combine correctly in our skin care and how often? I have several different serums and I’d love to properly incorporate them into my routine so I don’t damage my moisture barrier. Would love a video on this! Thank you so much for all your work!!!!
My skin got extra dry due to the super low temperatures in London and I got The Inkey List Polyglutamic Acid serum. It works wonders! My skin looks so plump the next day 😊
The cosrx snail mucin is definitely hydrating and great at helping restore your barrier.
Please do another video like this for 2023. I know you have your own line, and I will be trying it. But this was so helpful for me when I needed a drugstore recommendations. Thank you so much ❤
Please do a video on PRP. It sounds like a fantastic process. How long does it last?
The Differin dark spot cream you linked is the 4% niacinamide - I’ve found it in person (Target) !!! I’ve been using it for a week on my cheeks and have already noticed a difference!
Thanks so much for the really great options. I was curious about your thoughts on The Ordinary serums. Thanks. 🙏🏻
This is such good timing! I was in the shops the other day looking for a serum and thought that i should wait and see what shereene says to use 😂
I love that snail mucin serum! For some reason, my face can't tolerate glycolic acid (maybe because of tretinoin) but since I started using it on my chest, I am so happy with the results
Try mandelic or lactic acid.
Time to buy the new serums. Thank you, Dr. Idriss
Love your videos, always waiting for them thank you so much from montreal
Completely obsessed with your knowledge and personality
Please discuss at length the procedure you just had, sounds appealing! 😍
The Dr Jart serum has been my go-to serum for the past 3 years. It helps with my skin irritation if I used the wrong skincare
Hi - thank you for the great recommendations. I really enjoy your videos! However with all of these active ingredients it is really hard to decide what to choose for my daily routine. How would you propose people to decide which of those ingredients they should be using ? Lots of love and all the best !
I’ve been eyeing the Dieux serum for a while now but wasn’t sure. The second I saw it pop up in this vid, I added it to my Christmas shopping list haha!
Hi dr Idriss, thank you for yet another informative video!
Wondering your opinion revarding SkinCeuticals ce ferulic VS the Timeless ce ferulic ?
Your personality is so fun!
I've never heard of that procedure you mentioned you received! I'd love to learn more about it and any other procedures you may have gotten done in a video.
I Dr. Idriss! Thank you so much for keeping us up to date 🤗. I wanted to suggest if you could do a skincare routine for MEN. I share some of my skincare products with my husband, but I find his skin needs are very different from mine. He shaves daily so his lower face gets very dry, and at the same time he has very sensitive skin (I once suggested he tried retinol and his face was immediately red).
Also, and sorry for the long comment, could you share some shaving tips? My husband recently switched from foam to shaving cream and it has helped his irritation.
Have a wonderful weekend!
in skincare gender doesn't matter. all you need to be aware of is his skin type. from what you said, he has dry skin so focus on moisturising it enough. retinol is very very drying so that's why his skin got irritated. ingredients like glycerin and HA would work well for him hopefully
Some wonderful serums! I bought the Aveeno one and the dropper is vile. :) I’ll try some of these for pigmentation. Thank you!
Have you tried the Timeless Vitamin C + E Ferulic acid? How does it compare to the Skinceuticals serum?
Amazing review! Thank you. 🙏🏻♥️
Looking at these prices, I’m grateful I live in a country that creates high quality skincare products with a mini fraction of the price of European and American brands. I learn the ingredients from this video and find products with the same ingredients from our local brands. And they all work fine!
For a long time, I had been wondering why my skin always gets irritated. I had been constantly blaming my towels, pillowcases and even my diet.
Thanks God that I found this woman in RUclips. It was her who made me realize that the HA is the culprit why my skin gets irritated all the time. Most of the products that I was using have HA in them. 😢
My favorite serum this year has been bioBare vitamin C, B, E, and ferulic serum.
Just repurchased my 3rd bottle of the aveeno serum. Thanks Dr!
Can you let us know what serums can not be mixed with other serums(acids) or with Retinol?
Thanks
Thank you for this! I love L'oreal's glycolic. I also really like Glossier's niacinamide, though I don't love any of there other skincare. I'm curious what you do for windburn on your lips, because it happens to me alllllll the time.
Now can you make a video explaining which order to use these in? I have so many products but I get very confused on what goes first and which days to alternate them. 😕
Love your videos!!
Im still seeing Ambi with hydroquinone at my local independent-owned drugstore. There’s still a few out there. I was one those people who used it as a spot treatment and suffered hypopigmentation 😩
Yes we still have the Differin around the Chicagoland area. I stocked up! 😄
Paula’s Choice 8% Glycolic acids gel is my favourite with lots hydrating and and liquorice and anti oxidants too
Yaaaaa So happy I found you ❤
Love skincare and you make me more addicted to!! Why don't you ever mention The Ordinary? Their serums are amazing!!
Thanks for another great video Dr. Shereene!❤ Could you please consider reviewing the Bioeffect Egf Serum and Essence? I think they are great products and would love to know what you think about them.😊
I’m really into the Shani Darden Retinol serum. I received a sample of it with my Cult Beauty haul and I think I really like it and what it does for my skin.
Love your videos!!!! You have mentioned it is best to store Vit C in fridge - any other skin care products that should be stored in fridge?
Hi Dr. Shereene, you touched a bit on glycerine in your previous video where you talked about hyaluronic acid. Please can you do an extensive video on glycerine on how it should be used, if it should be diluted with water before applying it on the face and the body, and the overall benefits of using it as a moisturizer, and how to use it as a buffer for tretinoin cream?
Weekend chill doesn't start until I hear "good morning my little nerds" ♡
Cheers from tropical sunny Rio de Janeiro
Loved the video. Thank you 😍🙌🏼
I noticed seborrheic keratosis on my face for the first time this year. Tretinoin sure doesn't seem to make a difference and I am using it for anti-aging anyways. Are any of these serums helpful in dealing with it? Thank you.
The Iunik Beta Glucan Power Moisture Serum!! Very hydrating and soothing. No HA!!!! I already have two back-ups💖💖
I broke out from the Loreal glycolic acid serum- seem to have issues with higher levels of dimethicone in serums & other products. Not sure why but that’s the ingredient that appears to be the culprit-and I have very dry skin! I’ve ordered the Lariche-Posay glycolic acid to try & hopefully it’ll work better for my skin.
Love your videos!!!
Hello! I know you say not to use AHAs during the daytime because of sun sensitivity, but I use my lactic acid serum twice a week in the morning, and have never had an issue. I always follow up with my SPF 50. It's just that I prefer to use my prescription retinoid every night and not skip it.
Serums are really awesome! They soak into the skin with great ease. My top serums are hyaluronic acid serum, vitamin c serum and retinol. Great to hear your thoughts on each serum.
She actually has a whole video about her dislike for HA.
@@michelledailey8505 Oh really. I'll search it out! HA has been our best seller for the past 5 years with lots of repeat buyers.
@@ozzy6138 Here is the link. I'm with Dr Idriss that HA is overhyped & personally found it creates more irritation. It may work for some ppl. But, having dry skin & living in a dry climate it's not for me. ruclips.net/video/RnrMi-PbBWA/видео.html
Hi love ❤️ ! I would love a video on what we can mix with BHAs (salicylic acid)
Lots of love from india to dr Idris... thank you so much
Please do a brand review of beautypie! I’m sure many people would appreciate it so much
Love love love your videos Shereene! Your personality is outstanding. Just one thing - I am using Loreal retinol serum which is actually 0,2% (their official page). This is why probably Skinceuticals 0,3% feels stronger/more irritating.
my Saturday happiness is here
My fav is the night serum from Dermalure.....love love love it
Another great video. Od like to incorporate Azalaic Acid into my routine but I’m not sure I need it. Is it a good idea to add anyway? Thank you 🙏🏽
Can you do favorite moisturizers and cleansers next?
Peach Slices also is a really nice snail essence!! I love theirs! I don’t think it’s quite as slimy as CosRx.
I love cosrx. That essence and their galactomyces essence are so nice.
Love your videos! Ty ❤
In Europe the Aveeno oat serum is sold with a pump! It’s amazing.
Aveeno and dieux are both amazing ❤️
The procedure I am scheduled for at my dermatologist next week @🙌
You got me onto the Aveeno serum, thank you! Can you link the dropper that's compatible with it?
I've used the Glossier serum before, and now I'm back on it. Love that stuff for acne. Two other things that Dr. Idriss helped me with this year is inspiring me to cut out HA from my routine (game changer) and trying A313.
I am new to her channel. Why is HA bad? I may need to cut that out. Also what is a 313? Thanks so much!
@@shannonengelken4629 HA is not inherently bad, but it can be irritating and inflammatory for some people, especially products with high concentrations of it and/or low molecular density HA. Personally, my skin lost most of its redness and became much more supple when I cut it out. A313 is an ointment with retinol/retinyl esters, so it’s a type of a retinoid. Retinol esters are usually thought of as the weakest of retinoids, but this product is very concentrated and has penetration enhancers. It’s also in a very moisturizing base, so it’s a great choice for people who want an effective retinoid, but find prescriptions too drying/irritating.
I got the Loreal Revitalift after your recommendation and since it was on sale, I'm currently using it once a week with moisturiser underneath and on top, because I'm trying to gradually get into it without any irritation. It seems like it's helping with my breakouts. What do you think about The Ordinary retinol serum?
Lab Muffin Beauty Science explained how TO’s retinols aren’t stable past a couple months in their dropper bottle packaging that is used for affordability across the brand.
ILYSM!
